Prabhakaran and his clan are nowehere to be found. Clearing operations started in an area 200m x 200m by the Special Forces. If Prabhakaran is hiding in this last uncleared patch or his remains are in the area, they would be found.
Some surrendered LTTE leaders say Prabhakaran had escaped while others said he was still there when they left the area. At the time of writing, Prabha and his cohort's whereabouts or fate was still unclear.
There was however a strong suspicion that Prabhakaran, Poddu, Kabil Ammaan, Soosei, Bhanu, Lakshman, Lawrence, Jeyam, Velavan and Rathna Master etc have either escaped by sea or broken free and made a dash towards the Mullaitivu-Weli Oya Jungles.
The LTTE launched a massive attack near Nanthikadal Lagoon today. The area was under the control of the 53 Division. The line was breached and some 15 SLA were killed while 70 Tigers were aso killed in fierce fighting. If Prabha escaped in this attack, it can then be assumed that he is inside the Mullaitivu-Weli Oya Jungles.
The other possibility is the sea route. Reliable sources told DefenceWire that even Soosei's family was 'arrested' in the high seas, having been detected late. If Prabha and clan indeed escaped and took this route, he would have left after this escape attempt took place.
Among the high-profile Tigers confirmed dead was Swarnam, the leader from Trincomalee, a loyal aid of Prabhakaran who was killed in retaliatory artillery fire. Sea Tiger Leader Chelian has surrendered to SLA this morning.
The head of Prabhakaran's Sniper Team, the head of the Black Tigers training program and dead female leader Vithusha's 2IC had also surrendered, bringing the total to around 2000 LTTE cadres surrendered.

Do you remember the SUBMARINE TUNNEL that was under construction?
What if there is ANOTHER TUNNEL installed from the NFZ safe zone, passing under NANTHI KADAL lagoon and emerging somewhere on the western side of the lagoon. VP & group MAY STILL BE INSIDE THIS TUNNEL waiting to emerge and escape.
This TUNNEL may have a breathing tube, a generator for electricity generation, toilet facilities, and and enough food for the group to survive for a MONTH.
The SLA should carefully EXAMINE the HOUSES/BUNKERS in the NFZ and on the landward side of the NANTHI KADAL lagoon for HIDDEN entrances and exits, evidence of breathing tubes at the edges of the lagoon, and evidence of human waste floating up to the surface of the lagoon.
The EXPLOSIONS in the NFZ may have been to cover up the entrances to the lagoon under the PRETEXT of blowing up ammo supplies and cadres committing suicide. If some bodies are found at the explosion site, they could just be planted there as window dressing.
I have emailed this IDEA on to MOD/SLA.
If this was the PURPOSE of the TUNNEL, it makes PERFECT sense!

Yesterday I reported about the 2 helicopters being dispatched to the frontlines and only one returning to base. I told you that one flew directly to an army facility in Colombo. I didn’t want to tell you that the helicopter flew to Panagoda, but now someone has mentioned that above.
I feel that we will know the real truth about this tomorrow or latest by Tuesday. Surely nobody can say anything before the president announces the find. Also I feel that to ensure the LTTE never raises its ugly head again, a few precautions have to be put in place, think about it, and that is happening now. After all it has been 30 years and this is a whole country we are talking about, not a small little thing.
This is by all accounts understandable and the people should give the government the time to sort that out. I also hear that the Army Commander Lt Gen: Sarath Fonseka is on a quick visit to India, this indicates that Prabha must have been found and maybe even captured alive [Don’t know]. But if so, Sri Lanka should not hand him over to India, and must deal with Prabha ourselves. Now it is easy for Sri Lanka to bargain on this point with India, because it is quite clear to all Indians and Sri Lankans alike, that Sri Lanka did help the Congress Party in India to win the elections and retain power. Cheers Sri Lanka, you have done the whole world a huge favour. Take your time and play it your way.

1. I don't think Soosei's family left the NFZ with Prabha's consent (irrespective of whether it was 'escape and capture' or 'literally handed over to the Navy')
2. I also don't think Rs. 6 lakhs is all Soosei had
3. If Soosei's family left without Prabha's consent, I don't think Soosei and Prabha are in good terms
4. Therefore I don't think Prabha and Soosei will be killed together or will commit suicide together
5. If Soosei and Prabha are not in good terms, what will he do?
6. If Soosei's psychology is to 'save' his family from being killed or committing mass suicide, do you think Soosei would try to avoid getting killed or commit suicide?
7. Will he escape or can he escape out of Sri Lanka? Will he take the chance?
8. What would happen if he hands himself over to SLA?
9. Now that his family is in SL custody, would the GOSL do something to benefit from the situation?
10. What kind of advantage will GOSL get should we get hold of an alive Soosei?
Put all these together, add some of Mahen's earlier news items to it and what do you think really happened?

It was a profession for the likes of Prabhakeran who had nothing else to get rich on. He was a stupid small-time smuggler and criminal who was given an opportunity to become a somebody. He has lived a life of comfort and luxury in hiding while systematically exploiting the stupidity of the lower-level Tamil race that’s you. Take note that one of the top Tamil lawyers in the UK used to be a chap who used to open and close the dykes for the paddy-farmers of the Mannar rice bowl. Picture that, a fucker in an “amuda” with an “udalla” on his shoulder spending his days walking along the “niyera’s” of the paddy fields, now a suited and booted lawyer. This of course shows the resourcefulness of the Sri Lankan people, but it’s not just this one guy, we must be clear that most of the Tamil diaspora were just simple folk who were either farmers or fisher people. Some were also low-level civil servants.
Once they were accepted into the western countries as refugees, they were given the opportunities to learn the language and for further education on tax-payer money in their adopted nations.
We must all remember that almost all of these Suckilly boy-scouts (kids of these poor folk) have never lived in Sri Lanka, most have not been lucky enough to breath our sensational hill country air, neither have they had the pleasant experience of growing up in paradise. We Sri Lankans know how much life experience we had growing up in this beautiful country. Also if you are old enough to have lived before the war actually broke out in 83, you would understand what a great childhood we Sri Lankans have been blessed with.
I have lived in and visited many western nations and also had the opportunity to spend 4 glorious years in the Middle East, but there is nothing that compares to growing up in paradise.
I lived in the UK along with my kids until my eldest was 11 years, but their lives were boring and uneventful over there, returned to Colombo and they are active in rugby, athletics, cricket, swimming, and most recently moto-cross. These sports were not available to them in the UK because there are no competitive sports allowed in UK public schools anymore. They ride their push-bikes (bicycles) around freely, just like I did when I was a kid, no stupid health & safety to worry about, no bloody stupid helmets and knee/elbow pads and all that junk. They have turned into real young men that make me proud. But all in all, they now have an eventful and fulfilling childhood they would never have been able to experience in the west [maybe in Australia, yes].
These diaspora kids listen to their parents about how great SL is and dream of their own nation, they will never get. Now, they are feeling threatened because they know that their dream of living in paradise has faded. However much western nations try to talk about “equality for all” or “racial equity”, every single Tamil in the west knows that they do not fit in, and never will.
Lots of you Tamils in the diasporas were promised top positions, power and status in the new dream homeland for Tamils, the bigger the contribution to the cause, the bigger the rewards that await, is what was told to you. However educated you made yourselves; you were still easy pray for the likes of devious people like VP and Anton B.
I have no sympathy with any of you idiots, you deserve your stupidity. Even today have you seen how the older of your people behave when they are alone? Like they used to be back in Sri Lanka in the old days; yes men. The colonial British in old Ceylon gave you Tamils administrative positions and jobs in the civil service, sure. But those jobs didn’t go to you diaspora types; they went to the Tamils who have never bothered to leave Sri Lanka during the past 30 years. The upper-casts amongst the Tamils: Why did the Brits bring low-cast Tamils from India to work on the Tea plantations? Because as the Brits themselves said; “the Sinhalese are useless, we can never get them to do anything”. From this we can understand that the Sinhalese would never cow-down to their white masters - A race of proud people who paid allegiance to a strong king and didn’t have degrading cast systems.
Even in India, Malaysia, Burma et cetera, the British took Tamils to those countries after colonisation, because they were easily controlled and manipulated. In India the Brits couldn’t handle working with the northern races like the Rajasthan’s, and looking back through history you will find that Sri Lankans (Sinhalese) have originated from races from the north Indian regions.
Look at India, a country of over 900 million lower-cast people ruled and governed by about 300 million upper-cast people. If you Tamils don’t believe me, buy and read Arundathi Roy’s book “The God of Small Things”, for which she most deservedly won a Booker Prize.
Remember what Swami Vivekananda, an ethnic Tamil sage wrote, "No religion on earth preaches the dignity of humanity in such a lofty strain as Hinduism, and no religion on earth treads upon the necks of the poor and the low in such a fashion as Hinduism. The Lord has shown me that religion is not in fault, but it is the Pharisees and Sadducees in Hinduism, hypocrites, who invent all sorts of engines of tyranny in the shape of doctrines of Paramarthika and Vyavaharika." - Letters; - p.41.
So understand that we Sinhalese didn’t start your horrible cast systems, they were there innate in your race even during the days of Lord Buddha.
The Sinhalese are not at all to be blamed for your situation. The Brits used you’ll fully knowing how your cast systems work. I have once written that maybe the Brits didn’t understand your cast systems, and that the Brits were manipulated just like you all have been by your own upper-casts, but maybe that is untrue, because now I’m not so sure anymore.
The Brits put your upper-casts into administrative jobs in the Ceylon Civil Services, but then even gave the lower-casts jobs accordingly with your cast systems. They had Tamil servants, porters and the lowest untouchables (which they learnt about in India) to clean their toilets. You can still see this system at work if you book a holiday with Ceylon Tea Trails at one of their estate bungalows near the Castlereagh lake. Now of course they use the Tamil British imports for South India who were brought to work the Tea estates. I kid you not, you can still see the old workings of the white plantation masters and how they lived. [Especially preserved for you buggers, I guess]
Tamils never complained because they knew their place in society, and with bowed head they have always accepted their faith to be born a low-cast. Go to Tamil Nadu and see how life is, this whole stupid cast system stares you right in the face. I come from a Tea planting background myself, I also have several friends who are PD’s (That’s “Pariya Dorea”) on Tea estates from Rakwana to Walimada to Badulla and Nuwara Eliya. On these estates still today, all the servants who cook, clean, and tend the gardens are all Tamils, and they fully accept their place and status in life. Tamils were always like that until of course uncle Prabhakeran came along.
If you Tamils have any grievances to cry about, especially all that bull-crap about discrimination, then you should by all accounts first direct your cries of despair in the rightful direction of your own upper-cast people. Of course the first changes must and should come from within your own race, and then too India will have a big role to play in eradicating your cast system and addressing your grievances.
I’m not the first one to tell you that this will be a near impossible task in India, and that’s why the 50 or so million [From the 80 million Tamils worldwide] low cast Tamils looked towards Prabhakeran and were ready to do anything he told them, to bring them statehood, dignity and above all status. He of course pulled the wool down over your dreamy eyes and manipulated the lot of you for his own damn agenda, to create a life of comfort and luxury, albeit in hiding, for himself.
Now go, all you young pretenders amongst the diaspora, take this insight and wisdom and talk to your parents, educate yourselves in the truth of your own race and understand this: The best advice I can give you all is, forget about returning to paradise, stay where you are and enjoy the opportunities your new western nations have give you. Do not come back here to my paradise, for you will only lose the little status your western homes have given you.

I mentioned this long time ago. Also quite a few bloggers here mentioned this. It is appalling the way he communicates. Lack of command of English is one thing. In ability to communicate is another thing. He suffers from both. He might be one of the best military guys in SL, but we cannot give him defence spokesman roles. We don't need a Brigadier for this role, what we need is some one who can respond to journalist well.
Without hurting his feeling (Move him to another higher position) can we give this role to some one else who can talk please. Defence spokesman should be part of our war strategy and some one should put lot of thought prior to entrusting this position to this role.
Can our patriots lobby for a change of this role.
Although VP is gone, I believe we need some one good in this position for at least another year.

I agree about the Navy (no fault of their own or necessarily the GSL).
What is clear is that GSL and SLDF mus make it an absolute priority to build up the Navy in the next few years into a formidable defence force protecting the boundaries of Lanka.
They have already demonstrated capacity to develop their own technology. This must be ramped up enormously to create technology capable of underwater surveillance and pursuit as well as filling holes on the surface surveillance front.
Furthermore, SL should offer to contract ship building for other countries and organisations thereby stimulating the know-how to build larger ships. Perhaps defence contracts could be signed with China. SL must do whatever is required to protect its territorial integrity while boosting industrial productivity as well.
There must also be an avionics industry developed for both civil and military needs.
Unfortunately, there is a reluctance among Buddhists to consider such projects because they see it as going against basic Buddhist principles. This is because they misunderstand basic Buddhist principles.
We need guys like you to take the lead in protecting mother Lanka in this defence technology front.

Sri Lankan Special Forces soldiers have found bodies of three top LTTE leaders identified as Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh during the mop operations in the last LTTE foothold. According to the latest information, the remaining LTTE cadres are now boxed into a 100m x 100m area.

Typically this has been done before an election. If I remember correctly, Chandrika did it too.
I think this will be the sequence
(1) Parliamentary elections
(2) Presidential elections
(3) change constitution from proportionate representation system to first-past-the-post system so that the UNP will be an obscure minority, also so that President Rajapake can still be head-of-state after his second term ends (current constitution does not allow more than two terms for the president)
Most of the politicians were expecting this to happen after the end of the war.

I want to update you on a few things, i clarified during the last few hours. My brother is well, he had his ankle fractured. but he will will walk fine, one of my classmates from Ananda will operate on him soon.
The last 72 hours have been harrowing, the fight was a scene similar to D-day landing seen in Saving Private Ryan movie but with suicide attacks added on. The beach front landing crossing the lagoon on dingys from the lagoon and simultaneously landing from the sea while LTTE was punched from the rear caught them quickly. They never recovered and the whole defense line collapsed. In the meantime SF teams were in mulliyaveil (sp?) jungles awaiting for LTTEs who never made it across the lagoon because they were also hammered by SLLR and GW regiments. It soon became a killing ground. I am told that this was the 'return' for all those massacres by LTTE against our soldiers, they killed our brothers and many instances when captured alive went further to torture them by cutting off fingers, sucking all the blood off before ending theirs lives.
You will hear during the next few hours great news. We have a plan and it is executed to brilliance.

Consider the LTTE's treatment of Sri Lanka army personnel in the past:
When the LTTE captured the Mulativu Army camp in the 90s there were over thousand soldiers in that camp. Except for a handful that hid in a well, the others never came out alive.
When over 900 policemen surrendered to the LTTE in the East based on assuarances given by Anton Balasingham to the then Sri Lanka Foreign Minister, not a single one came out a live.
It is the decency and humanity of Sri Lanka Army personnel that has allowed over two thousand LTTE members to surrender and be taken captive. In any other country, these people would have been shot dead at the time of capture.

Colombo, 18 May, (Asiantribune.com): Latest reports emerging from the battle front reveals that LTTE leader Prabhakaran, his intelligence chief Pottu Amman and Soosai, the Head of the Sea Tiger are still alive and are being pursued.
According to the Sri Lanka Army, the Special Forces Command by Colonel Atula Kodiipili and Special Commando Brigade commander Colonel Ralf Nugera at the moment engage fierce battle 100 meters south of A35 road.
The Sri Lanka Army which is bent on releasing the news on an installment basis, said the LTTE leader V. Prabakaran, Intelligence chief Pottu Amman and Sea Tiger Leader Soosai have been encircled.
In a battle front where presently heightened tension prevails and the the order of the order, it was reported that there are 200 LTTE bodies around in the battle area.
One of Military officer had told to Asian Tribune, that according to LTTE radio transmission, troops confirmed that Prbakaran and rest of the top leaders are still still alive and it is said that Special Forces and Commandos have already sealed off the area
Yesterday evening Special Forces advance to an area 400 x 500 - small box, which LTTE leadership was confined. The battle front office said area where leaders lived was heavily mined and Special Forces troops were able to defuse the land mines and make path and engage in fierce battle and enter leaders hide out.
Reports further reveal that the special force were able to kill the LTTE political Head Nadesan, Secretary General of the LTTE’s Peace Sectariat Pulidavan and former Batticloa LTTE Head Ramesh was killed by Special forces
Prabhakaran and the rest of the top two leaders escape with their body guards from small box in an Armor plated bus and presently confine to small area there are large number of Prabhakaran body guards at the moment are engaged in battle with Special Forces and Commando's.

If I have access to nuke, I will drop in Colombo, Kandy, Anuradhapura, Galle, and Matara in blink of eye. Yes, this is coming from a peace loving Hindu. This is the mindset every Tamilian has now.
