12 bombs, altogether weighing nearly 50kgs have been found in Jampettah Street, Colombo last night by the police Terrorists Investigation Division, Police and military sources confirmed. The bombs were seized after the information received from a suspect who was earlier arrested with 150 communication sets and 4 radars in Ja-ela. The bombs were very similar to claymore mines, but a little different, a police officer told DefenceWire. They were marked with numbers, he added. Police suspect the bombs were being used to fix on a vehicle to detonate elsewhere in Colombo suburbs. Police also found some GPS, compasses and communications sets. Meanwhile LTTE fired mortars at troops manning defences at Nagarkovil, Jaffna last night leaving one soldier dead and 14 injured.
