Navy says only minor damages have been caused to the Merchant Vessel Nimalawa while MV Ruhuna was completely unharmed. All Sea Tiger cadres who engaged in the attack were killed. No casualties are reported to the Sri Lanka Navy personnel on board the vessels who engaged in a successful counterattack using MPMGs and LMGs.
Search operations are ongoing to locate remains of the Tigers and their equipment. The Navy has also managed to capture one suicide boat while the other two were blasted. It is believed that the suicide boats had been lying in waiting near KKS following the easing of fishing restrictions.
The attack has taken place in the outer harbour area at KKS. All telephone connections in the Jaffna Peninsula was obstructed immediately after the attack. More details will follow as soon as normal connections are restored.

Well, there are only three possible reasons for lack of air support other than MI 24.
1. India said no and GOSL is complying.
2. Situ is not warranting to do so due to rain, visibility and lack if int. etc.

If LTTE is trying bringi more and more people to Kili, to use them as a civilian shield, then we should also try to send couple of our LRRP/ intelligent units guys to go along with those civilians or we should try to bribe civilians and collect intelligent news. This should be done with the aim of doing couple of massive attacks targeting at least five main LTTE military figures in a very short period of time..
If LTTE wants India to intervene, then we should find a way to boomerang it back to LTTE. Our diplomats are real good these days, so they will find a way..
Those are the easy way out as far as I can see it..

Well the ship touched a port in Jaffna and then came off, you did see the images right, the explosion that you saw, indicates that the explosion didn't take place in very close proximity to the ship, but a few meters from it, the hull got damaged, its a large ship and if as said the engineering crew repaired the hull while at sea, then it did touch port afterwards, a hull cannot be totally fixed while at sea,but a temporary fix is always possible, by using a pump the remaining water can be pushed out.So I think the only mechanism by which if you say the ship sank then there will be a shortage of food supplies in Jaffna this week, otherwise your dum mission which already in the world is known was a damn failure.
