A loud-mouth bungling

A clever plan by MIC to finish-off the remaining LTTE cadres under Ram and Uma Ram in the East was bungled by an information leak by a few callous officers and the local media.

However, unknown to the media, a large number of cadres had already surrendered, some had deserted while others were mysteriously gunned down (including the 11 killed yesterday).

But unfortunately, following the wide publicity given to the killing of 11 cadres, there now appears little chance of the remaining 30 odd cadres surrendering to the Army as was planned.

LTTE Leader for the East and its only surviving leader on Sri Lankan soil Ram, now afraid to answer messages from the Army, had instead contacted Karuna Amman and expressed a desire to surrender if Karuna could guarantee his safety. It is yet unclear as to whether Ram and his team would surrenderunder the present context.

Ram, in his conversation with Karuna Amman had claimed Kumaran Pathmanathan, the corrupt and accidental heir to the LTTE's throne had requested him to fight on saying he would send weapons and equipment from abroad.

managing 2 jealous mistresses - india & china - would be very challenging for SL.

why c>i

1. china is a permanant member of the security council
2. china has MORE aid/investments/potential trade than india
3. china ALWAYS had a CONSISTANT approach not like india
4. indian policy changes with tamil madu idiots pressure. no such pressure for china
5. china will be the BIGGEST economy soon. india the 4th. china already the 2nd biggest military spender.
6. if you analyse the naval defence capabilities, india is relatively investing MUCH MORE than china. so china needs to beat india in one swoop. that may well be SL.
7. economically and militarily china and US are not opposing forces for third parties.
8. china has a history of STANDING BY its friends no matter what.
9. china is "struggling" to keep itself UNDIVIDED and even intersted in expansion.
10. china has NO INTENTION of ethnicity based rights, etc.

e.g. indonesia, thailand, singapore

why india is important??

1. closest neighbour. need direct cooperation in border control.
2. ppl have strong connections with indian ppl. closer cultural/religious ties.
3. india ALSO supports SL
4. IF (IF AT ALL) islamic terrorism is to raise its shit head in SL, indian help will come even univited.
5. still the biggest trade partner???

managing these 2 will be challenging.

another BIG determinant will be how russia will treat china in time to come. the russi-india defence relationship is already on the rocks. a russian-chinese defence tie up is inevitable.

US-india tie up is on the cards but if that helps india's neighbours is doubtful.

also if and when the diago garcia camp closes US will be looking at SL seriously.

intersting times ahead. SL should carefully use these opportunities to become the next singapore/israel

Why do the gullible people seem to believe the Defence.lk lies/half-truths that Pottu Amman is dead?
No he isn't.
If anyone would want us to believe PA is dead, SHOW US proof.
The govt had no problems at all in releasing pics of Prabha's dead body as proof he was really dead, so there can be no reason why they cannot do the same to convince the public Pottu Amman too is dead.
Soon after Prabha was dead, Defence.lk published a list of identified dead cadres of which the first was PA. I am having none of it unless they can come up with proof. Come on! Surely showing a pic cannot be that difficult?
No rubbish excuses, no unbelievable stories explaining why you can't. Don't even try telling the public no one could take a pic of PA's body before it was "Cremated".
What, you cannot produce a photograph? Then I say Pottu is still very much alive.

Moss,
That is most reassuring no doubt and pleases me no end, but I cannot help but wonder why the defence types rushed to publish a list of names to convince PA is dead when he so clearly isn't.
Now if PA is still at the hands of the MI when the day dawns to bump him off they would again be faced with the dilemma of a body of a terroist, whom they assured us was already dead as a doornail. Whatever it is they are planning to say, I pray that it is not the much hacked "He-wanted-us-to-show-hidden-weapons-when-we-took-him-there-he-pretended-to-be-showing-weapons-but-then-tried-to-attack-us-with-a-handgrenade-so-we-had-to-shoot-him-in-our-defence-it-is-unfortunate-he-has-now-ended-up-dead-boo-hoo" story.
Oh and what became of Soosai? Is he too now resting in pieces? Maybe I missed a few pics here and there.

Ananda-USA reply to Tharaka touched on the National Guard:

Whenever I am stopped at a check point, sentries have no desire to question me and my whereabouts. They just look at my ID and smile - my ID is 1975 vintage and I am now closing on 50.

I believe professionals and office workers - this should include top notch CEO's too - should be called into man these checkpoints for at least two hours a day. I am sure these professionals could do their part and release soldiers for a good rest.

The Prez and the GOSL should request civil society to step up to the task. Now we should take the turn rest war weary soldiers. SLDF has done the dirty work, surely GOSL can ask those who never served in SLDF - either in commissioned or volunteer capacity - to do their bit for Mother Lanka.

I would gladly do it but do not know where to start with GOSL.

We could make DW the South Bloc of the SL Foreign Service.

Patriots,

I do not believe that our country of any strategic significance to USA. If it is about military facilities, USA is less and less reliant on land based military. USA has a large number of nuclear powered Nimitz class aircraft carriers to project it's power anywhere in the world. Also, they have long range bombers running sorties from USA around the world. In addition, major US trade routes are not running across Indian Ocean. If you listened to US senate hearings recently, the fact of insignificance of SL as a strategic location came out loud and clear.

What they clearly don't want is somebody else getting entrenched anywhere in the world. It is a kind of a threat neutralization.

The dog in the manger is a good parallel to what US did in SL. They did not sell us any offensive weapons to fight against LTTE and they came to bail out LTTE in the last moment.

As far as bi-lateral trade is concerned, significance of SL to US is next to nothing, but India is.

What the west lead by USA doesn't want is to loose their preeminent status in the world. If you recall what UK did in Iraq war, they pretty much stated that they want continue to be a respected global power. EU is also trying their best to do the same. However, the only place they can try such dirty deeds are poor and small countries like us and many who voted for us in UNHRC.

US, EU, and UK heard it loud and clear this time that we are no longer willing to bend over for their overlord antics. We shall expect them to try the dirty deeds again. They may come back with vengeance next time due to plain humiliation they suffered in the hands of Gamini Abhaya and our friends. We have no time to waste but preempt the next dirty move US, EU,UK, France, Germany etc. I am confident that our team who handled the UNHRC issue can handle it. However, it is our duty to keep them on the go 24/7.

SHOULD WE BE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THE IC (INTERFERING COMMUNITY) SAYS?

Don't you think that we are too sensitive about what other people tell about us. There is no need to be like that.

As John Wayne says: A man gotta do what a man gotta do.

It may be good. It may be bad. But a man gotta do what a man gotta do.

Whatever we say or do, they will come to us if they need us. If not they will not do so.

If it suits them they will kill us even if we are all Dasa Sil followers.

"BEHOLD, POETIC JUSTICE is not deferred to the NEXT WORLD, but is being served in REALTIME in THIS WORLD!"

This is an angle I did not see. Yes indeed, it is poetic justice we also call ditta dammavedaniya kamma.]

Sorry guys, but this kind of talk makes me puke.

Let me see whether I understand it.

God arranges for nearly 1,000 SLA soldiers and police prisoners to be massacred in cold blood. Then many many years later, the same God arranges for 450 Tigers to be killed in retribution. So we are now even. No more killings and retributions, eh?

But yet, no one knows how many involved in the first massacre were bumped off in the second. Were there any who were not involved in the first but in any case were bumped off in the second just because there was something wrong with the database? No one knows for sure.

As far as I know it was Karuna who managed the First project and of course I have not seen him getting any retribution. at least not up to now.

Some say it is poetic justice. Some say it is Kamma. In any case there seems to be justice for some while others go scot free. Oh yeah, I forgot. It can come in the next or the next or the next life .... ad infinitum. So don't hold your breath to see it happening.

God, Kamma, Poetic Justice - all these work in strange ways that we mortals cannot fathom. We are too stupid. Or is it only me that is stupid?

If it is God who is doing all this, then he must be STUPID. Really Really stupid. The guy doesn't seem to know first thing about justice and fair play.

If I had the power I would just go and bump him off and mail order me a better God. Perhaps then all be able to live and die in peace.

Reasonably Treasonable,

"That’s a nonsensical comparison from the vantage of my argument, since those killed over the last 25 years include the 7000+ casualties of the last 6 months, which I argued against, not for, by supporting the ceasefire calls."

Ok- how many Tamils do you think will get killed over the next 23 years, compared to those who were killed from 1983 to 2006 (when open war resumed)?

If that question is too far forward-leaning, here's another one: how many Tamils do you think will get killed over the next four years, compared to the number of Tamils killed during the CFA from 2002 to 2006?

"The number of innocent Tamils and Sinhalese who will be killed over the next 25 years will depend on how long it takes people to end communalism and tyranny in SL politics. The manner in which this war has ended will, I think, make this harder, not easier, to achieve."

And how should this war have ended? Mahinda and Thalaivar holding hands and singing songs?

"How would the LTTE have been able to keep shelling the SLA indefinitely, with the arms embargo the SLDF and international community had imposed?"

Because the LTTE had built a very large stockpile during the CFA. Also, it would not have been possible for the SLN to sustain the blockade indefinitely.

The IC imposed no embargo- I don't understand at all what you meant by that.

"UTHR has sort of dropped the ball of late. From what I can see, it’s only released 3 bulletins in the last 2 years, despite a huge upsurge in human rights violations by both the LTTE and SLA in that period. HRW, on the other hand, has been doing a very good job at consistently and vociferously charting human rights abuses, and has not had much nice to say about the situation in the East."

Perhaps UTHR slowed its reporting because it was interested in producing credible reports more than HRW was.

"For all your meandering, at the end of the day, you have lined yourself squarely behind a government that veils itself in secrecy."

Wow, insults and labeling, after thanking me for not labelling you an LTTE supporter. I have a way of getting under people's skins, don't I?

"Can you provide a credible source indicating that the LTTE conscripted children by the “thousands per year”?"

Enemy Lines: Warfare, Childhood, and Play in Batticaloa by Margaret Trawick. Note that Trawick acknowledges in the introduction that she is an LTTE sympathizer.

D. Sivaram also wrote on the numbers of eastern LTTE recruits in the 1990s, but unfortunately his archive has been lost with the closing of tamilnation.org.

"More importantly, can you show that they were recruiting at this rate in the period 2006-2009, since this was the period with which we are comparing GOSL-backed Karuna?"

Child recruitment dropping in East, UNICEF claims.

UNICEF said it received reports of 97 child recruitments carried out by the LTTE in July in the North and East out of which 55 were from Batticaloa.

You do the math- and take into consideration these are the documented numbers.

wijayapala said...

cont'd

"Funny thing is that now that the LTTE is gone, only SLA-backed Karuna keeps child soldiers. How are you enjoying that company? I hear they are having a field day recruiting children in the newly formed concentration camps, too."

Why don't you tell us how many child soldiers are currently with Karuna and Pillayan?

"It’s perfectly possible to argue that the LTTE and GOSL have both been equally inept at improving the lot for the average Tamil (and Sinhalese). And that is what I'm arguing. By criticising the SLG mercilessly, I needn’t rub shoulders with the LTTE."

But by comparing the SLG with the LTTE, you are setting yourself up for a fall. Do you really think that the average Tamil in LTTE territory lived equally as well as the average Sinhala in govt territory?????

"had, for instance, an LTTE statelet/regional autonomous zone been established in the North/East (or, if you take the more minimalist position I’ve argued for in the last few posts, just a few square km of land in the NE…), and a situation of relative peace prevailed (like during the CFA period), then the Tamils in LTTE territory would be less willing to stand idly by while the Tigers trampled over them."

The key difference, which you appear to have missed, is that the LTTE is not a democratic organization. The Tamils utterly lacked the ability to stand up to the LTTE and certainly could not use the ballot against the LTTE. That is why the Tamils most certainly "stood idly by" as the LTTE continued conscripting their children during the CFA period.

If a semi-autonomous LTTE "statelet" had been established, the LTTE would have told the people that it was armed might which made such a legitimate recognition of the LTTE/Tamil nationalism possible. That is entirely what the LTTE told the Tamils after the CFA was signed- that it was force which brought the CFA and "parity" of the LTTE and govt into play.

"He’s not in charge of the govt, but it would be hard to deny that if Fonseka, and, say, his closest circle of advisors, had been assassinated early in the piece, the war would not have taken a different turn."

The war might have taken "a different turn," but we are now seeing that the LTTE has utterly disappeared with the loss of its leaders. The SL state on the other hand did not disappear when Premadasa, Denzil Kobbekaduwa, Ranjan Wijeratne etc. were killed. Again that is the difference between a democracy and a fascist non-state actor.

“BTW, did the IC find anything "morally objectionable" to the attempted killing of Fonseka which did result in other people's deaths?? Or the killing of dozens of soldiers in December 2005 during the CFA?”

"I can’t speak for the IC, but I can speak for myself. Yes, I found those actions appalling, and I feel very badly for all the people killed and their families."

Your "feeling badly" had absolutely no impact on the situation. Nobody, not you, not the IC- NOBODY stepped in to stop what the LTTE was doing. You seem to think that the situation in 2005 where the LTTE was terrorizing the entire country with impunity could have been sustained forever, with associated "feeling badly" but no change.

That is what destroyed the credibility of the CFA- the LTTE was able to flout its terms (which had even favored the LTTE) while the other could not, because the IC could only restrain the govt (until Mahinda came and pulled the plug on the CFA). As much as it bothers you, a lasting peace was impossible with the LTTE around.

I think people have already suggested commemorating the end of the war annually. Here is another suggestion:

Have a military tattoo, maybe over the weekend corresponding to the anniversary. For security reasons, hold it in a secure location. Perhaps show live on TV like the Kandy Perehara, but tickets could also be available for the general public. The proceeds can go to a project like Api Wenuwen Api.

If such a venture is produced well, and marketed well, it can also be part of the annual tourist calendar, like the Edinburgh military tattoo.

You are asking for evidence because you have some doubt about KP's fate. I have no such doubt. I believe he is very much alive. GOSL is not going to kill him because he is their man - their biggest mole in the LTTE. I posted my theory about PA in this blog a long time back. But no one believed me. Some rediculed me. Now some say that he has been handed over to India.

Anyway, even if he is not a mole, he is definitely in the hands of GOSL. Very much alive, but not happy to be so, I am sure. Life cannot be easy to him. And they must have made him sing very nicely. Now that the song is over, he has been assigned the task of singing in India.

Whether he is a mole or just a very intelligent pig in captivity, I certainly don't want him dead. This kind of pig is worth more than their weight in bacon - just like the pig of Bandings Castle, Empress of Blandings (courtesy P. G. Wodehouse).

Since no one is producing any evidence either way, I was hoping that you would.

Oh, by the way I also theorized that KP is our man too. Yeah in this blog. long time back. No one cared to listen at that time. They all ignored it. Now many of them are jumping in to the band wagon.

Dear All,

Please send this to your friends in order to make them aware.

The war is over and all of us are able to breathe a sigh of relief. This was possible because many in the defence forces sacrificed on our behalf. There are many soldiers who have lost their limbs and are disabled today. It is our duty to give them back the mobility that they so richly deserve.

The Sri Lanka Army Engineers Association (SLAEA) has launched PROJECT GRATITUDE to provide artificial limbs for those soldiers who sacrificed on our behalf. They have released the requirements of the first batch of such soldiers and the cost of providing artificial limb (pl see attachments). A separate bank account will be opened for this purpose. You can contribute directly to this account and help pay the cost of a limb. The cost is given below

· Leg below knee Rs. 19,500

· Leg below heel Rs. 26,000

· Leg above knee Rs. 85,000

· Arm below elbow Rs. 26,000

SLAEA will make arrangements to acknowledge your contribution and for you or your representative to make the donation on a pre agreed day.

Please do spread this message and join up with your friends and family to contribute to this worthy project. Give to those who gave. You may either contact me or Major General Susil Chandrapala directly (susil570@hotmail.com, +94773082602)..

The paper says that it compiled its evidence using aerial photographs, official documents, witness accounts and expert testimony. “
-New BBC front page article

Folks,
Please let me explain few things.
1. You already know that
Video evidence =two photographs taken while on Ban Ki-Moon’s Helicopter ride.

2. “The Times suggests that the Tamil Tigers established mortar positions and military encampments within camps for displaced people”
True

3. “…which were then shelled by the military.”
How did they know that this is being the case? What if LTTE destroyed those while they were on retreat (which they usually do)? Or what if those were destroyed in close quarter battles? Even if the ‘shelling story’ was true what if it happened after the civilians had fled the area?

4. “The paper says that it compiled its evidence using aerial photographs, official documents, witness accounts and expert testimony. “

Here
Arial Photographs = you guys have already seen those. Nothing the sort of they claim is revealed.

Official documents:- In other places ‘Times’ claims allegations were taken from UN contacts (unofficial). I do not know how they made it official. May be in the sense those reports were written by UK times officials (writers).

Witness accounts :- It is so easy to find few LTTE terrorists as witnesses. They are so good at lying (begal pappala) Pillai will cry.

Expert testimony :- Considering the #3 above we should be able to find a monkey smarter than these experts. (Or in the western hemisphere one can buy an expert for small sum of money and they would tell whatever you want them to say. This would be the case if the authors of the ‘UK Times’ article were paid by the terrorists.)

For an example consider the BBC expert, Human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson.
He doesn't even know that Sri Lanka is not a member of the UNHRC. He claims otherwise in order to ridicule the UNHRC decision.
If these western countries do not get their way in any institution they start ridiculing it. They think they are the gods of the world and the rest of the world has to accept their judgments on its knees. 0.5 billon people are trying to overrule the wish of 4 billion people. When these same hypocritical nations killed hundred thousands of people in Iraq, Afghanistan and millions of people in Vietnam those Human Rights big mouths kept mum and still keep doing it. But when a small country is fighting for it's survival ocean level begins to rise due to their tears.
World order has to be changed. No question about that. Fortunately, that day is not far.

These Times, BBC etc have big names (reputation) in the world together with financial and technological resources. In todays world media has civil power and its western media who dictte the terms. (Rest follow them.) Basically they decide what is right, what is wrong, what is good, what is bad, what is truth and what is false.

If GSL is ready to counter this shameful attack it would be at least a starting point for reducing the share of power of western media. This 20,000 story can be their Mavil Aru. But the problem is GSL has to give priority to IDP settlement and working on economy. Defeated west plan may be GSL to start new battle with western media so that they can insult us more while IDP resettlement becomes a 'crisis' and then intervene.

Fernando,

Sri Lanka has rich Thorium deposits...which were assessed by US scientists about 20 years ago.

Uranium poor, but Thorium rich, India is the leading developer of the Thorium-based nuclear power cycle in the world. Pound-for-Pound, thorium can provide two orders of magnitude more power than a uranium cycle. Thorium can, in principle, be used in heavy water reactors. India, formerly denied nuclear technology as a non-signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, turned to Thorium as an indigenous nuclear fuel. It is building a prototype reactor at the Kalpakkam Nuclear Power Plant in Chennai that will burn a mix of Uranium and Plutonium fuel irradiating a blanket of Thorium. The new Nuclear power technology sharing agreement between the US and India may adversely affect India's Thorium program.

The fissile fraction in Uranium fuel is very small, but the non-fissile component can be converted to Plutonium in a breeder reactor. With breeding, the total amount of fuel can be increased to provide nuclear power for as long as humanity needs it.

There are, however, two big problems with breeding in particular, and with nuclear fuel processing in general:

1. Unlike the fissile isotopes of uranium, present in very small amounts in ore, which require inefficient physical methods to separate from the vast amount of non-fissile uranium, plutonium can be very easily separated by chemical means. This poses a problem of nuclear materials proliferation, especially because Pu has a much greater yield than fissile uranium and can be used to make very small nuclear weapons.

2. Breeding and reprocessing spent fuels generates vast quantities of highly-radioactive wastes, which must be safely sequestered over periods at least as long as 10,000 years. No country has been able to do that yet, primarily because of public opposition in the advanced countries that also have the most number of nuclear power plants! France, 80% reliant on Nuclear Energy for electricity, and heavily into fuel breeding and reprocessing, still does not have a permanent waste repository. The US repository, the nearest to completion in the world, may never be built because of local politics of NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard), and opposition by the ruling Democratic party leaders.

The presence of rich Thorium deposits in Sri Lanka is VERY UNLIKELY to influence US policy towards Sri Lanka, because

1. The development of the Thorium cycle requires much more work,

2. The US has significant deposits of Uranium ore for its own use and has no need for Thorium,

3. Breeding offers an easier route to increasing the amount of fissile material after you have at least one uranium based reactor,

4. Waste generation and disposal is a big headache with nuclear power, and no solution is in sight even in the US.

5. The total Thorium resource in Sri Lanka, though rich in quality, is not as great as that of manu other larger countries that may move towards nuclear energy.

However, the US may be concerned about certain other countries other than India, denied nuclear materials for proliferation reasons, becoming interested in moving to a Thorium cycle and gaining access to Sri Lanka's Thorium resource.

He was in charge of the Sinhala army under Pommie twits before he had enough and started the revolution. However he sent back the weapons the Brits had given the Sinhalese and went against the bastards using swords and spears. Bad mistake. Looking for honor and decency among Pommie bastards is like looking for Virgin Mary in a Texas whorehouse.

"But moderate Tamils were happy to ride piggyback on the LTTE and keep shifting the goalposts. In 1981, the Tamil leadership agreed to the District Development Councils and were very satisfied with what they had got. Then when the LTTE and other Tamil groups said that was not enough and the Indo-Lanka Peace accord saw the introduction of the provincial councils system. When the LTTE rejected that too, the Tamil moderates were happy to shift the goal posts once again and say that what the Tamil community needed was something in excess of the 13th amendment. Thus came the constitutional proposals of the PA government in 1995 and 2000. Every time the LTTE carried out a successful attack on a military or civilian target, the demands and ‘aspirations’ also increased. The entire devolution debate and the Tamil agenda was driven by terrorism."

This is the reason why she supports the LTTE and writes against the GOSL..

It is surprising to note of the bold and daring attempt by Marie Colvin to have entered Sri Lanka unnoticed by the Sri Lankan intelligence agencies. She also managed to slip into Vanni a region under the control of the Tamil militants avoiding checkpoints manned by Sri Lankan armed forces, as well as the boarder check point at Vavuniya, the border town 180 km away from the capital city of Colombo.

Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and others have different opinions; listen to them and discuss different issues with them is called democracy. Vibrant democracy is vital for peace and harmony in a country.

As an educated guy you should be able to understand that and be patient with others who give different opinions here. They have rights to do so.

This victory over LTTE is meaningless, if guys like you are still trying to suppress others.

Yes. The INGOs and NGOs in Sri Lanka have NO RESPECT for the GOSL and the laws of the country. They became so over 30 years where they were allowed to roam free beyond the reach of the law, to hoodwink the people.

Now, all INGOs who are not ESSENTIAL to SL, should be kicked out of the country, and NGOs should be dismantled and put out of bussiness. The latter should fing ALTERNATIVE JOBS outside this "profession" of undermining the country.

Even his fans appeared to take his invitation with more than a pinch of salt then;)
I dunno if he made the prediction as a gung-ho idiot or as an astute observer. But he did make it, thats his due.

The Good, the Bad and the VERY Ugly

Lankan Tamil conflict on celluloid

ExpressBuzz.com
Pradeep Kumar
May 31, 2009

CHENNAI :Inspired by LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran, ace filmmaker K Bharathiraja will make a film on the Sri Lankan conflict highlighting the plight of Tamils caught in the war.

“The film will focus on the role of LTTE... against the Sinhala regime,” Bharathiraja told The New Indian Express. The maker of superhits said the script is yet to be finalised and that he would be using fresh faces for the film.

“The film will also highlight ... the UPA government’s role in failing to end the war.” Bharathiraja revealed that the idea for the film took shape after he met with LTTE chief Prabhakaran during the ceasefire between 2001 and 2006.

He recalled how Prabhakaran had encouraged him to make a film based on Sri Lankan Tamils.

“He had assured me of all help, including the assistance of ‘boys’ for making the film.

“Somehow it did not take off.

But now I’m determined to make it,’’ he said.

MDMK leader Vaiko recently asked Bharathiraja to make a film on Lankan Tamils for “future generations”. Vaiko said he along with his party workers would sell the film CDs if there were to be a ban on the movie.

Director Seeman wondered whether the government would allow Bharathiraja to make the film. “The government is treating everything dealing with the Sri Lankan Tamils as anti-national,’’ he said.

My Comment at Sri Lanka says it's poised for takeoff]

There are NO MINORITIES in Sri Lanka. There are only PATRIOTS and TRAITORS. All citizens of Sri Lanka will have EQUAL RIGHTS to enjoy the fruits of the ENTIRE COUNTRY everywhere, and EQUAL RESPONSIBILITIES to LOVE, PROTECT and DEFEND the country. There will be no regions of Sri Lanka given SPECIAL RIGHTS on ETHNIC, RELIGIOUS, CASTE, or LANGUAGE BASES...NONE WHATEVER. There will be ONE NATION, ONE Sri Lankan PEOPLE, ONE Common DESTINY. No EELAMS whatever. Those who want separate homelands, motherlands, fatherlands for their community ALONE, should emigrate to wherever that can be found...for there is no place for it in Sri Lanka. WE will defend OUR Ratna Deepa Janma Bhumi against ALL of its enemies FOREVER!

Maroon and Gold????? :D

Guys, with regards to the UK media, please do not worry too much about the adverse publications. The British people have too much to worry about these days. This expenses scandal is haunting the Westminster and will be main news for many weeks to come. I have been told that more to come in the next few weeks.

Moshe Dyan, I agreed 100% with you.

“ Managing 2 jealous mistresses - india & china - would be very challenging for SL”………..great work.

Guys,

I believe we should focus more on our Navy, state intelligence services and have an accurate air surveillance service. I think we should have separate coast guards to protect our coasts and let the Navy to go into deep.

Any comments pls…..

Any idea for the reason behind the newest surge of LTTE terrorist here? Some of them like peace@last and SARA had been here for the longest time even though their handles are new. Then of course there good old STD the hair splitter still spitting hair even after the comprehensive defeat of LTTE. Then of course, the multipolar and his avatars who will sing in praise of Monkeypala Master. Today they are here with a new theme to paint terrorists and traitors as patriots.

Why did the appear here today? Have they found more time since their white masters are not facilitating their road shows any more? Very interesting.

We would like to see your LTTE monkey dance every once in a while.

Sri Lankan intelligence services as far as I know are military and police in nature. Tihs is in contrast to the CIA and British SIS/SS that are civilian in nature. Their recruitment is publicly advertised, and the application procedure lasts for months (and includes polygraph tests)

The wide ranging skills in the public domain could be an advantage to our services.

Bro, you got the majority of so called patriots posting here perceptively correct.
Is this the Saul who said:

LOL, f*ck your universities; your country's citizen's are suffering in camps and all you can think of are universities? or

Also, on a related note, quite a little rag tag collection of almost fascist like ideas/ attitudes being adopted here. One should give bloggers here the benefit of intelligence to reach their own conclusion.
Well I think it is time that P@L changed his handle, perhaps to L&P. A bit of self-reflection would be good. See Wijayapala's example below.

Wijayapala

Dear Peace@Last,

"Wijayapalage anith nama handuna gaththada?"

Nope- Saul and I are two completely different people. I know just as much Hindi as Saul knows Sinhala.
obfuscation? Nothing to do with Saul. Did P@L translate for Wijayapala sir?

I always found it hilarious how both Sinhala and Tamil dumbasses see me behind every handle on the internet! I never realized how afraid all of you are of me.This is called Narcisism

Wow, insults and labeling, after thanking me for not labelling you an LTTE supporter. I have a way of getting under people's skins, don't I?Narcisism with some self-reflection

Perhaps Wijayapala should have a change of handle also. Hmm Wijayapala (as I have said in Sinhala) means Victorious Ruler.
Perhaps, given the degree of Narcisism demonstrated the name should change to "Ruler of God".

Heh Heh Heh. Guys, I really think that Wijayapala is someone we should all have considerable respect for. He is (I think) Sri Lankan first and Tamil second. I think you would find that he has given up on Tamilisation of Sinhala.

L&P on the other hand is some one that Wijayapala should keep at arms length.

Saul is just a terrorist who tried to pass off as an Indian but gave himself away.

While Wijayapala is erudite and potentially a loyal Sri Lankan (I believe he actually is) DisInfrmation is not him but has more the style of a closet-Eelamist like DBSJ.

STD (lingika rogaya- heh heh heh)- well... nuff said. Moshe and Sam have already had their say.

All this I have done without resorting to Asthiri's program. Nevertheless....

SAS said...

Google,

Thanks for your opinion. I know our SIS is politically motivated, but we have to look for the future and start re-organising now. We should expand the SIS into two different area; military and economic and commerce. The same as in UK, MI6 and MI5. It’s a tough task but I think we should do it right now.

Have you seen that movie( true story)? How CIA was born? ….wow!

I agree with you, British do advertise. I was tempted to apply one, but later decided not to. They have a rigid selection process and have proper infrastructure to do so.We do not have such facilities in SL nor we have a huge budget . We have to cope with what we have. Look at out SLDF? They did not have everything they have asked for. But they did a fantastic job. I personally knew how tough it was. They use improvisation and creativity to accomplish the task.

BTW, all these big IS have initially started with military backing, and then gradually involved into a civilian service. We can do the same; I know some of our best tech ppl are working with SIS and MI.

Has anyone think about the Navy and Air Surveillances?

Since world economy is in a mess, we can buy few OPV for v cheap. We have to think again about the naval air wing (previously scrapped) I know we bought a helicopter carrier form Indian Navy (SLN Diyakawa). The project was scrapped after very costly misunderstanding between SL Navy & SLAF. It was a very old ship. A friend of mine went inspect the ship and how was shocked. Anyway, all what we need a floating deck with supporting facilities. We do not need offensive capabilities or fleet level capabilities. A limited blue water capability is more than enough. The last time we discussed about this failed naval air wing, the ship was anchored in CLB harbour w/o doing anything.

Ananda,

SARA,

You got wrong again. The lesson is:

"GOD" often arranges RETRIBUTION for SINNERS in ways that reflect the ORIGINAL SIN, and often in THIS LIFETIME.

In those instances when it becomes obvious to us that the sinners have been aptly punished, we call it POETIC JUSTICE.

In this case, the Tiger Leadership received POETIC JUSTICE, in my view. You are free to believe differently.]

I am surprised that you out of all is having expressing an idea like this. Perhaps I over estimated you. You have oversimplified an extremely complicated situation and used cause and effect to park the blame exactly where you want it parked. You do not think that the massacre of the 1000 security personnel had any cause. It was the original cause. Period. Everything was hunky dory up to that point and the trouble started there. Man, which planet are you living on????

Any unbiased person would see that this is a completely wrong idea. The cause and effect goes far beyond that and both parties have to bear responsibility to various degrees. I see it as a retaliation for another brutal act of the other party (the Sinhalese) , though it was certainly out of proportion. There is no argument that Tigers have indulged in extremely disproportionate retaliation, which is why hate trhem. But this brutal act in turn had a reason and so on and so on the cycle of violence was going on for many decades (not just 30 years).

The whole cycle of violence and retaliation is a process where there is positive feedback and therefore the magnitude of violence increases in leaps and bounds by both parties until the whole system collapses in chaos.

You say that I am free to believe differently. Actually I don't need you to tell me what I am free to do. And I cannot allow you to escape saying that because it is your kind of thinking that has been a major contributory factor to this tragedy. It has affected all of us whether we are great Sinhalese or Tamil pigs.

Therefore, I do vehemently oppose your idea. And top it all you think that God and Dhamma and all things decent are on your side. (I don't want to say our side because I am a suspected monkey).

Note not Mylvaganam but Mylvavaganam.

NICK NAME: SA-M

My mother was a sinhalese but my father was a sakkilya.

I know that you will start threatening me. I also know cowards who cannot say boo to a goose, become Supermen when they hide behind these blogs. And I may be one of them.

STD the liar,

"I have not seen any evidence SF cares even a wee-bit about Tamil civilians.Extrajudicial executions, wiping out rebel families, using MBRLs and cluster bombs...20,000+ civilian deaths in a couple weeks. He's right up there with Saddam and Pol pot.."

Can you substantiate any of these statements, specially 20k+ civilian deaths? You are nothing more than a subhuman terrorist remnant trying hard to pain bogus war crime stories on Sri Lanka. You are desperately trying to make blatant lies of bogus war crime true by repeating it over and over.

Ok the old sicko is back today. Hey Haaki Namo, you are the one who said that you will be honored to be in the list of Scum of Sri Lanka. Please reveal your real name for everybody's viewing.

Sam,

its alright old friend.I understand you have to prove your patriotism here. I forgive you.

20000+ deaths: if independent media are to be quoted:thats a conservative estimate.

Sam Perera said...

STD,

What independent media? Show me the original source to substantiate 20k+ deaths. If you can't substantiate your bogus war crime charges, then you need to withdraw the allegations. You are nothing more than pathological LTTE terrorist liar behind a mask.

Sam,

Okay I will give you my name if you give me yours, with proof. Like they say, you show me yours and I will show mine, though mine is not a pretty sight, I have to say. All skin only and that too retracted old skin.

sam,

independent media= media without a gun pointed to their heads(to toe Gosl line).
It is upto GOSL to disprove it.

SARA the scummy,

You are the one who said that your are honored to be in the list of top scum. There is no Saradiyel in the list. Therefore, your real name should be in the list. Please take care of your children and family without wasting your remaining valuable days.

Guys,

You have to be very careful about various Avtars that have been haunting this blog for quite some time. Some of them pretend to be great patriots. But they are actually half breed karapottas. As MR said "Koheda yana para suddekuta kohomada mata vada kekkumak thiyenne?" In the same way we should ask "Koheda yana Parangi karapottekuta kohomoda apata vada kekkumak thiyenne?" These Geri eating Parangiyas were worse than the pigs in the past. They are the ones who really destroyed our country. Not the British. They still carry on with their dirty work. You can trust a Parangiya to some extent. But when it is a half breed karapoththa you have to be really careful.

Added to this is the fact that some of them are Catholics. I know there are good Catholics just as there are good Tamils. But we also know what the Catholic Church has been up to. Their agents are all around us in various forms.

They think they have the God given right to stamp anyone as a pig, monkey or patriot. The way they act brings shame on the Sinhalese using filthy words and making vicious attacks on people. Anybody who is reading their posts will get the impression that the Sinhalese are a real bunch of vermins who have no decency. And finally who is doing this? A half breed karapoththa. Now you know who the real monkeys are.

Sam,

There you go again. I knew you would do that. You are speaking against the atrocities of the Tigers and yet you are threatening to take revenge on my family.

This is between you and me. Kindly leave my family out of it.

You know Sam, this brings shame on the Sinhalese because many think that youa are one.

Head of FORUT - Norwegian NGO deported from Sri Lanka.

She had ordered the bringing down and removal of the national flag of Sri Lanka that was hoisted by the local staff in the FORUT office premises, to mark the victory in the war with the LTTE by the armed forces on May 20.

She had also refused to grant the holiday declared by the President on the occasion.
.

Ranvei Tvetenes.

she must be really sad on what happenned to sun dog Vihilu pulli...

these INGOs didnt do any worthwhile thing in NE..I remember one of them claimed Rs. 2 million from Partner country to construct 5 nursery schools ...but the constructed ones were like "Cow sheds"..each would have cost less than Rs.10,000!!!

These MFs were living like Kings and queens on those areas...enjoying travelling in Prados, Monteros , staying in hotels and partying....

GOSL should deport all those useless INGOS cos they cause more harm than any good to the country...
