EPS to be declared captured shortly

The Army will shortly declare the liberation of Elephant Pass, a garrison lost years ago. It will be a historic victory in this sector and the 53 and 55 have been given the opportunity to raise the lion flag and their share of the victory.

Clearing operations are being finalized at EPS. A Major was killed by a boobytrap but other than that, no serious incidents have occurred since the capture of Soranpattu. The 58 and 53 will not meet up. The former started moving east of Paranthan via Murusamoddai towards Chalai/Mulaitivu.

good question elephant
if 55 div moves further past Chundikulum then coastel area under enemy control becomes halved. Which means halved will be the lenth of beach SLN has to keep an keen eye on.
Loose coastel control, loose arms and medicine smuggling for the enemy.

Dear Sam,

Do you know Sam that Sri Lanka is the only country (or among the few countries) to have the Defence Minister as the Media Minister? Do you know that Lake House is the only place on earth where journalists are sacked for a statement made by the Army Commander?

Keep reading biased news Sam. Good luck.

Wijayapala,

I agree with what you said. Hope the following will complement it. Briefly:

This is how Hinduism progressed - first came the Vedic religion (which considered mostly cosmic deities - Agni, Yama,) and then Brahminism (which considered the concept of Aathma and introduced several deities associated with that concept) and third Hindu religion as we wee it today (which had deities associated with Bhakthi - like Krishana)

Eighth century AD saw the formative years of Hinduism as we see it today, with a lot of modern deities we see today being introduced (like God Vishnu, even Buddha). So there was a little bit of advancement and organization of the religion in 8th century.

Ironically, 8th century saw almost the total annihilation of Buddhism from India. Buddhism at this time persisted as tiny pockets in especially the peripheral Hilly areas of the Indian kingdom. One of the reasons for this perhaps was because, as I sad earlier, Hindus started considering Budha to be one of their deities.

In this atmosphere, the only other major religion for a dissident of Hindu religion to convert to would have been Islam. Moreover, Islam is a religion that actively pursue conversion.

And it is well known concept that when a ruler changes his religion, the people followed. This has happened from almost Persia to Malaysia (Gunavarman Thero was one of King Asoka's messengers and the last king of Sumatra was king Srivijaya), including the Maldives.

However, in Southern India, mostly among the Tamil speaking peoples, Brahmin/Vedic religions still more or less persists more so than Hinduism as practiced in North India. In Sri Lanka, when Budhism was introduced (3rd Century BC), it was only a little bit of Vedic religion that was present. The well organized Buddhism would have hence swept rapidly over this.

Yes, as you said, the absence of a cast system would have facilitated the rapid sweep.

remember 40m vessle which got blown up but only after most of the arms onboard were unloaded? SLN said the samething about having 3 layers of defensive formations to stop arms smuggling. but how could you miss a 40m vessle? Lesser the coast under enemy control, safer SLA would be.

The LTTE vessel you are refering to escaped detection in heavy weather. As I understand, even radar has its limitations when in heavy rains and rough seas. Obviously the surveillance equiment on our ships didn't measure up to detecting such a small vessel in such a large sea, so far at sea in really bad weather.
Had it been detected, I'm sure it would not have survived 24hours with our Sea-Lions ever willing to enter a fight. Among the three forces, the Navy has always done its job the best and yet they are the least talked about.

Ooops I meant to say Tatra....I wish I can undertake a drive like that. But I'm ashamed to say that I have hardly covered our beautiful Sri Lanka....I have not even seen Trinco let alone northwest beaches.

But in the country of my residence, I have driven far and wide much more than the locals themselves. Just finished a 1600 Km drive to cover some buddhist ruins, black sandy beaches and all. But not 4X4, all in a comfy of a sedan. I used to have a Ford Everest 4X4, but recently changed to a German beauty. But currently eying a old Wrangler. This Jan I will be in SL for short visit and hope to finalize the makeover of the LandRover I have in SL. God willing next time I should be able to drive up north and enjoy the beauty and the hospitality of the northern people ( my father keeps telling me about)

Ok thats it for now and all the best for you for the new year mate. Keep the good contributions coming.

My Rebuttal Comment at The Economist

[Pasam said:[The USA inspite of having been the sole super power since the 1990, inspite of being a leader among multipolar powers and inspite of being the leader in explotation and oppression of the third world HAS DEVELOPED AN ADMIRABLE SYSTEM OF INTERNAL DEMOCRACY]

Your logic is flawed. What contrary relationship is there between being "a sole super power since the 1990" plus "a leader among multipolar powers" and developing "AN ADMIRABLE SYSTEM OF INTERNAL DEMOCRACY" that supports the "in spite of" comparison? Illogical, my dear Pasam, no discernible contrary relationship at all.

Your assertion that the US is "the leader in explotation and oppression of the third world" and "the American population enjoys great benefits at the expense of the third world" is really an awful exaggeration, which again exposes your lack of balance and reason. The US does consume more than its fair share of energy, its major import from the third world, and emits more pollution, on a per capita basis than less industrialized countries. However, that should be offset against the benefits that accrue to all inhabitants of the world in return: new engineered drugs and medical procedures, the internet that enables the dissemination of knowledge to the remotest corners of the globe, satellite communications, computers, microchips, lasers based products, unraveling of the secrets of the human genome to ease the pain and suffering of people and enable more productive lives, to mention but a few. The IT revolution in India today, that provides good jobs for many people, would not be possible without the computers, the internet and the satellite communications developed by the United States largely with US tax-payer dollars. Also, when some calamity, of human or natural origin, occurs in some part of this globe, it is invariably the US that steps up to the plate to ease the suffering. Yes, the US makes very bad mistakes from time to time, but it is a country that has the honesty to recognize its mistakes and mend its ways. On the whole, the United States is a great force for good in this world.

Your assert "Even the peoples of India are far better off in their relationships among Nationalities compared to the HELL HOLE of Sri Lanka." On the contrary, there are now 13 major insurgencies in India that give lie that particular assertion. Go to Youtube.com, or to any of a hundred Indian news websites such as ExpressBuzz.com, and search under Tamil Nationalism in India, and you will be inundated with video and news clips espousing separatism, and demonizing various segments of the Indian population, such as non-Tamil Indians by Tamil Nadu residents. Add to that discrimination, violence and separatism based on caste and religion, sprinkle poverty and illiteracy, you have a potent poisonous brew. With the sole exception of the Eelam struggle, we have eliminated all forms of discrimination based on caste, creed and sex in Sri Lanka. Very soon, with the elimination of the LTTE from the political scene in Lanka, Sri Lankans can get back to co-existing amicably with each other, as they did before this unhappy conflict was engineered and inflicted upon them. Finally, if it is a "hell hole" why are you struggling so hard to remain a part of it? I doubt you will find life in the "Tamil Homeland" in Tamil Nadu as comfortable and fulfilling as life in the Sri Lanka you presumably detest.]

Pasam's full comment:

[The USA inspite of having been the sole super power since the 1990, inspite of being a leader among multipolar powers and inspite of being the leader in explotation and oppression of the third world HAS DEVELOPED AN ADMIRABLE SYSTEM OF INTERNAL DEMOCRACY since the days of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with a sound and fair constitution, independence of the Judiciary and the rule of law which is very much akin to the freedoms enjoyed by he ruling classes of ancient Greece. Yes, the American population enjoys great benefits at the expense of the third world AND NATURALLY THERE IS NO INTERNAL REVOLT. Why should there be when they could elect an African American as President and the most powerful individual in the world. I pity the deaf and the blind who exhorts the oppressed peoples in other parts of the world, particularly in a HELL HOLE like Sri Lanka to follow the footsteps of the American people. Even the peoples of India are far better off in their relationships among Nationalities compared to the HELL HOLE of Sri Lanka. Precisely for the same reasons it is very difficult for the peoples of the world to understand what is happening in Sri Lanka. They have never heard it before even in Darfur, even in Rwanda. BUT CERTAINLY NOBODY expects a person from Sri Lanka to equate HELL and Heaven.]

Moshe Dayan said...

[other south and south east asian countries are not likely to accomodate him either.]

Sometimes it is not the government of a country that assists the LTTE, but sub-national groups who have been heavily paid-off by the LTTE.

For example, there was a time when the LTTE was buying arms from some rogue elements of Thailand's military. Sri Lanka protested to Thailand, but nothing really came of it. The LTTE were using remote locations in the Andaman Islands (which belong to India) as a transhipment base.

Likewise, there are sub-national, even state-level, groups in Tamil Nadu who would be very willing to oppose the Central Govt. of India in aiding and abetting the LTTE, for cash on the barrelhead.

Remember, the LTTE is a wealthy international enterprise, not registered in any country, subject to no laws, except its own. It can pay-off any one, including government officials, members of parliament, and military officers , at any time from a vast war chest is replenished by a steady stream of unregulated unreported revenue.

looks like ananda was right all along about the 55th going along the narrow stretch of land from jaffna peninsula towards chundikulam

defence.lk says

Army at LTTE's heels in Jaffna

Soldiers of Sri Lanka Army 53 and 55 Divisions are now engaged in search and destroy operations against the terrorists in the remaining LTTE hiding areas in the Jaffna peninsula. According to battlefield sources, troops are marching further southwards on the narrow neck of land towards Chundikulam eliminating LTTE positions on their way.

Troops of 53 Division had several skirmishes with the terrorists in the Nithiyavedda area yesterday (Jan 10) and found 3 bodies of slain LTTE cadres and 4 T-56 riffles. Troops of 55 Division also engaged a terror group detected in the Kattundarkulam area last evening and found 2 Multi Purpose Machine Guns (MPMG), 4 Radio Communication sets , and 4 T-56 riffles during subsequent search .

Meanwhile, 33 civilians arrived at Sornapattu last morning seeking refuge with Sri Lanka Army. The group included 17 males and 16 females.

at the end of the day SL is a UN recognized country with far more money & resources than LTTE. so we should start breaking their terror networks to pieces by exposing names of kingpins & organisations.

we must make life impossible for terra promoters. after the major war is over we should definitely have plenty of manpower, resources, expertise & the money available to do it.

Some thought for Mahen's Defence Column.

"SUNDAY DEFENCE COLUMN

We can now confirm from our sources in Wanni that our Supreme leader has stratgcally relocated to an undisclosed (but much nicer) location outside Indian Ocean with the family. Highly placed (who are now on trees with white flags) sources said Supreme family has used TAF-1 (simillar to Airforce-1used by American Presidents).

As you know according to the Religious beleief temple/kovil/place-of-worship will be automatically relocated to the place where the god-statue is moving. Going by tradition, so now Officially the Eelema is wehre the Sun Goat is (which will be annuonce in our next Sunday Defence column).

To the loyal Diaspora (who are Intelligent Tamiz) this is not a suprise as they have invested for this move for last 30 years. So dont be suprised if you See your deaerst Thambi in you nearest Petrol-Shed, ASDA/Wallmart or even in Cash and Carry wearing a nice winter Jumper with Eeelam Logo.

You prayed for the Eelam which is far away. But now Eeleam has came to your own neighbourhood. What else our dear Dispora can expect from the Supreme Leader?

And in this year 2009 we can Celecrate the Mahavir and Achivement of Eeelam with the Mahavir himself.

Also it is learned from the same reliable source (which informed us about the re-capturing of Nachchikuda), All other LTTE leaders surrendered to the genocide SLA. It is not a move of tretchory, but to show how brave they are. Their bravery is such that they have no fear even walking to the SLA with their own families. But it is sad and dissapoiting that some of our hard-core members are not that brave and betrayed the tamiz casue in this way :

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mahen is Iqbal Atthas (MIA). His Sunday Columns are absent for the past few weeks and Mahen's post maybe a way of getting MIA's message across. He does not want to publish in the formal print media for fear of losing what is left of his credibility. MIA tries to be independent but always leans towards Tigers and goes on about their invincibility. Mahen's style is similar to MIA. Mahen seems to be well connected too, or he has a very vivid imagination!

My Rebuttal at The Economist

[Pasam: The HELL HOLE was created in Sri Lanka not by the Sinhalese or the Government of Sri Lanka, but by a group of terrorists who
blew a molehill into a mountain in the hope that they could secure a racist Tamil-only state only for themselves in Sri Lanka. They
were encouraged by the military weakness of Sri Lanka which then had only a largely ceremonial army, and the promise of assistance
from Tamil Nadu and India, that trained, equipped, funded and supported the terrorists. That was a grievous error on their part:
confusing love of peace with unwillingness to fight for survival, when sufficiently provoked.

These terrorists, guided by the RAW agents of India, prodded, provoked and attacked the Sinhala people until the riots took place in 1983, and then ran to the entire world yelling Teacher, Teacher...see he hit me! Please create a separate country for me because he hits me! The fact that the retaliation is a response to their own deliberate actions designed to provoke exactly that response for propaganda reasons, is artfully hidden.

Their method was to create violent seed incidents; provoke retaliation; seek foreign help; bomb and kill out of all proportion to the original false allegations; defame the majority community in the eyes of the world; create a stream of economic-refugees posing as refugees from violence; smuggle them charging high fees into rich western countries and dump them on their welfare systems; enslave, terrorize and tax them using their own mafia-like network; engage in drug running, credit card scams, gun-running and other illegal activities; use part of the funds to undermine the immigration systems, to buy politicians and government officials to pass legislation favorable to them, and kill all opponents who resist.

Precisely these kinds of arguments and procedures, used by the LTTE separatists against Sri Lanka, are now being used by Indian separatists against India. They attack civilian populations indiscriminately to get their way, disregarding the tools of democracy
available to them to obtain relief, because the objective is not the relief the ask for, but the destablization of the country, and the creation of a separate state. Contrary to your claim that the claim that all of the 13 major insurgencies in India are economic,
the struggles in Jammu & Kashmir by Moslem Kashmiris, for Khalistan by the Sikhs, for an independent Assam by groups such as the United Liberation Front of Assam, for independent Manipur by the Peoples Liberation Army, and the emerging struggle for an independent Tamil Nadu (guerilla groups such as Black Tigers and Tamil Tigers, distinct from the LTTE are operating there) are nationalistic struggles for separate states. The Naxalites (Assam, Bihar, Orissa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, etc) and the various emerging Dalit guerilla groups are struggles driven by ideology, poverty and/or caste discrimination. In all of these conflicts there have been instances of race/religious riots (e.g., Bombay [Dec 1992, Jan 1993], Aligarh [April, 2006], Gujerat [May, 2002], etc) resulting the killing of innocent civilians. In short, contrary to your assertion, there are many nationlistic separatist movements in India and many race/religious riots as well.

There never was intolerable discrimination by the Sinhalese against the Tamils; it was a con-job of the century. Even now, 80% of the Tamil people of Sri Lanka live in safety among the Sinhala people and not in the liberated East, or the soon to be liberated North. Tamils living in Sri Lanka have had enough of the LTTE. Only the Sri Lankan Diaspora Tamils, and Tamil Nadu LTTE supporters pursuing their global Greater Dravidian Nation agenda, whose lives and property are not at risk, want to keep the Eelam pot boiling in Sri Lanka.

GIVE UP, There will never be an Eelam in Sri Lanka! ]

Pasam Comment:
[We do not want to be in the Hell Hole and that is why, we have been asking for separation from long before the LTTE entering the scene. With regards to the USA, thogh not ideal, the internal democracy and welfare is high but it is at the expense of the third world. The reason why I dealt with the internal democracy is because that is the reason for varios Nationalities not getting engaged in any organised struggle. India is also not ideal but they have given some devolution like the 13th amendment and there is no clashes between Nationalities (not even a minor fraction of what is happening in Sri Lanka) but the struggles you quoted are against economic exploitation organised by the Naxalites and similar in the Red Corridor area. Even though I might call India a Regional Bully, there had been no racial riots comparable to what we had from 1956 to 1983 in spitee of the protest at that time by Tamils was by Satyagraha. Do you know that the Hell Hole is one of the worst 8 in the world by those who have not even visited the war zone. If they had, they would have given the Hell Hole the NUMBER ONE STATUS.]

The simplest way is to put the collection under one one profile in youtube.

Today people sample classical SL music and make a mess out of it. The real ones will live forever with new artists performing them like yours.

This classical artist from NZ has done something like that using her own site.

Judging by some of the comments made by Mahen on his blog, i wouldn't be surprised if he was MI psy ops operative spreading disinformation among the terra ranks. Thanks, nice work.

EFT has heard of a rumours circulating that Colonel Soosai, commander of the Sea Tigers is getting ready to defect with around 1,000 cadres. Our Wanni sources could not confirm or deny this rumour and would only go on to say that Col. Soosai is still executing his duties.

Meanwhile, the LTTE Foreign Service agents are said to be mediating a conflict between the various European LTTE Diaspora fund raisers. The Diaspora fund raisers are said to be jealously guarding the remains of the funds meant to finance LTTE military operations. LTTE funds have suffered losses due to prevailing economic conditions. Diaspora Fund raisers are in a quandary on whether to release the remaining funds to the LTTE finance wing as they have been taken in by rumours of increasing leadership conflicts within LTTE’s high command. But Mahen's blog was a great idea, one hell of a success. Although he re-writes harry potter there seem to be regular visitors and chit chat as usual.

Sadly pussycats are after Mahen. I haven't seen peace among anyone other than his bum-buddy peter.

Peter has realized that gamble is over and the eelam bubble has burst. He's throwing away his shares for vanity. Mahen is buying them. That is why we do not here from peter much and Mahen takes up the left alone topics.

In another words, the genius diaspora has TRULY believed of a surprise until end of last year, which is a surprise for me. I thought they were trying to fool us. So Punnakku operation with the backing of "elite" Photoshop cadres have been successful after all.

And 2009 seem to be the year of realization for diaspora. The year they feel robbed for the dollar a day and the year the asylums will be full. I want to market the healing software called "Virtual Eelam [TM]" for the asylums in first world countries.

Reason for arresting is tiger mofckr head believed pottu has leaked most relevant information about wanni battle to SLDF. Also in suspicion pottu established direct link with SLDF high command via prominent tamil rich man in Colombo. Pottu will definiatly kill when Pirbha ponna order to kill.

Pottu's inefficency in many operation to destroy or kill south leadership and places is one of the main reason that he was itargeted. Since some times pottu is under direct scrutiny by pirbha ponna. Also many of the cadres deployed to these operation caught to security forces.

Great to observe the resolution in this great man who spearheaded the humongous task to wipe out the Tamil terrorists from the revered soil of Motherlanka!

What a classic example to display the power of the use of 'CONSISTANCY' in achieving results!

Because 'resolutions' alone are just words. 95% of the results come from our engagement in "perspiration'. That's to raise resources, untie the country, face opponents and continue CONSISTANT killing of Tamil terrorists on a daily basis. This is most extreme hard work for a Sri Lankan leader.

I also had the opprtunity to taste bottled toddy produced in eelam. Wondefull.

Pottu,

I think it's true as this news comes to me one of LTTP head currently in France and he was working as .... sorry I can't reveal mate. But during the time Lawrance Thilagar acted as head he was to be his sec at one time. Now he currently working as big boss there.

To tell you many LTTP ballo in diaspoora community who depended with business established by diaspoora money waiting LTTP to be vanished. Some already have stopped pay the intrest. LTTP already asked them to refund all the money they have invested.

LTTP have invested such eneromous amount of euro's and pounds in London and France. Many business in Wembley area in London and La chappele in Paris established with LTTP money. If puthukudirrpu falls LTTP will lose millions. Some businessman already avoiding LTTP fundraisers or collecters.

Things become very unusual as many rumours spreading among diaspora community. Some still have some hopes but many knows LTTP is finishing.

Already Sinhalese in London started avoiding tamil shops. Many sinhalese been attack while on shopping. Latest was one sinhalese call Lasantha attacked in Hounslow west. Another badly attcked in france call "Gold (Raththaran) Kamal" who also participated manifestation held last days near eiffel tower. In Berlin one tamil businessman stabbed when he refuse to pay ransom. Tension among LTTP fckrs is high at the moment.

So sinhalese should avoid go to tamil shops these days. One LTTP fckr arrested regarding this.

So what i said could believe as many info told by this guy became true.

@Rover

A couple of days ago, I saw an article written by a guy named Arush. His analysis was later followed up in several pro-LTTE media, igniting hope for the LTTE's military campaign. One of the central points of that article was that LTTE hierarchy is allowing the spreading of SLDFs over larger area so that tigers can penetrate through a few weak points in the Army defenses. Unfortunately for the cats, this is highly unlikely to happen. Several reasons for this:

Though Buddhism almost went extinct in India, the contemporary Jainism didn't. Jainism withstood the pressure from the Muslims for some reason. It would be interesting to figure out why Budhism was so vulnerable to external pressure.

Whether you like it or not, wijayapala has been one of the best critical thinker related to SL issues on the web.

If you don't like what he writes, what that tells is you have an under developed Lakspray brain.

Strip clubs are for those who are with dangling brains and want a temporary stimulation down under without having a real woman companion.

I remember visiting a place just once when I was a student and all what I saw was beggers without clothes and that was really a 'turning off' for me.

You attacked a decent family and their father showing your poor upbringing and I can't imagine you have the shame to come down and show up your face (or lack of) here.

Can you please get laid or go to a strip club than posting your crap here. No one wants to discuss the crap you post here, everyone is trying to get updates on the end game.

If you want to discuss, go create another fantasy blog like Mahen.

ReallyCold,

Wow, we are discussing war and religion simultaneously.

Anyway, the idea at that time was to get the Arush guy to discuss each of those topics that were indicated, but he didn't appear.

@ Rover
It is actually Buddhism as a religion or culture that practically disappeared from India.

For Buddhism wisdom to disappear, there has to be two conditions:

1) Disappearing human wisdom.
2) Nuclear war.

A culture is certainly good to spread Buddhism. However it is not a requirement. Buddha himself has said the biggest enemy for his Philosophy could come from Bhikku's themselves.

Today who is feeding Monks to Buddha sasana? Do we supply middle to upper middle (forget stinky rich anyway) men to Buddha sasana today? NO.

Most of the monks today get ordained to support their families with few exceptions.

I have have been privileged enough to help out a program of ordaining 50 Buddhist monks. Significant portion of them were under privilege kids and priest hood was their only escape. That is fine and Buddha sasana is helping out people become monks than criminals.
There were some who were only child and some with a single parent. Their motivation was following Dhamma. What the head monk told me was that our society has gone down since we abandoned this cultural practice of giving up one child to the temple. When we do, we tend to clean up our act and that child who is a monk inspire all of us to become true followers of Dhamma.

I consider that as a re-building our culture with a strong foundation. If we don't have strong ethics and morals, it is like building a large and nice building with banana trees as foundation.

" Wijayapala and ReallyCold,

Though Buddhism almost went extinct in India, the contemporary Jainism didn't. Jainism withstood the pressure from the Muslims for some reason. It is ironical that this happened when today Buddhism is a world religion and Jainism is somewhat an insignificant religion in India. It would be interesting to figure out why Budhism was so vulnerable to external pressure."

So you broke the subliminal messages we need to plant within defence excited minds :)

I think I certainly can with good intentions.

ReallyCold,

"For example, the local temple held a baila concert to raise funds for it. When I asked the monk why is it harder to sell Dhamma compared to Baila, I was virtually asked not to come to the temple calling me an extremist."

There are always adaptationsist in religions who try to adapt to the changing environment and move forward.

Fundamentalists usually know the religion really well and they want to preserve the earliest tennets. But ultimately, it is a combination of the two that eventually move on into the next generation.

If you consider the earliest days, during the times of Buddha, the Bikhus were asked to roam for most of the year, and only rest in one area during the rainy season. But this was soon forgotten and Bikhus started living in Aramayas.

fortunately for Theravada Buddhists, except for a very few obscure tennets, others are easier to follow in the contemporary times (as most of it is based on Ahimsa, and thinking about the well being of others). So Baila Bikhu will probably be dragged into the trash-can of society.

But take for example the fundamentalist muslims. The modern muslims have a real problem with these guys as they pull out really obscure hard to follow rules and impose it upon others (even other religions). These are harder to follow as they are not based on ahimsa...

Just a thought.

ReallyCold,

You obviously haven't been here long enough. If you were, you would know that Wijayapala IS an undercover LTTE trying to prove that Tamils are superior to Sinhala. We proved beyond reasonable doubt that Wijayapala(or so he calls himself) is LTTE. I am not going to show you proof, if you have time just go and trawl through DN. If you do know something that we don't to prove otherwise, then publish it here so that Wijayapala can regain his status as a patriot.

A lot of people made fun of and insulted Rana for posting his daughter's details here, I guess you are not smart enough to know that everyone (without exception) was trying to show Rana the folly of his ways using our own unique Sinhala sense of humour. We were only trying to advise Rana not to disclose personal details in Cyberspace, he really should know better.

Who exactly do you think you are to come here insult us and our families just because you want to defend a soap box preacher like Wijayapala? The likes of you, i.e. Rana, Wijayapala and some others have nothing defense related to say and just waste blog space discussing songs, poetry, politics etc. etc. We could really do without your and your mates' posts. Actually Mahen is better than you as he has something defence relate and entertaining to say than you boring fuddy duddies.

That is one way of putting it!

I can almost envision how Budhism went extinct in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. It must have been like one of these highly invasive fire-ants overcoming populations of passive and milder native ants, that is, the way muslim invaders ripped through those peoples who practiced Ahimsa. But the question is Jainism. They are absolute extremists when it comes to Ahimsa, and still they persisted. However, interestingly, I see that Jains are also Hindus, at least they practice contemporary Hinduism.

"Today who is feeding Monks to Buddha sasana? Do we supply middle to upper middle (forget stinky rich anyway) men to Buddha sasana today? NO."

Not only the Buddha sasana, the middle class of Sri Lanka does not usually (taken as a corrected percentage) contribute much to the war effort either. The really rich contribute with money (taxes) and the poor contribute a lot with their children.

Lets say thank you to our disapora for chipping in money for SLAF Mulathivu base which will be part of the proposed news high security military complex like Palali-KKS. It is also rumored (Mahen told me) that the 59th division will be based on Mulathivu.

Thank you diaspora for your generous contibutions!!!

He appears to be testing the patriots.

Of course, they want to believe what he says about "issues" within LTTE but are equally keen to dismiss his “stories” about "issues" within SLF.
