DefenceWire Predictions now a reality

Courtesy Defence.lk
On October 18th 2007, DefenceWire published an article regarding the possible construction of LTTE suicide submarines and suicide water scooters. Here we discussed the transfer of FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) Technology to the LTTE, from a foreign country.

"Unfortunately, with a possible collaboration with the North Koreans, new possibilities may have already emerged for the LTTE. Unconfirmed reports had indicated for years that the LTTE was developing a small suicide submarine. This is not an impossible task considering the group managed to launch surprise attacks using light aircrafts smuggled into the country." (READ FULL ARTICLE HERE)

The Army's Task Force 3 has obtained conclusive evidence of this technology. We have also received credible information from sources within the Navy that the Dvora blown-up recently off the coast of Mulaitivu was by a suicide submerged vessel, possibly a human torpedo/water scooter.

The Dvora was patrolling seas 9 nautical miles off the coast of Mulaitivu when the blast occurred. Given the nature of the blast and the amount of explosives used and the distance from the coast to the FAC, a suicide frogman can be ruled out. A similar blast sunk a Navy Logistics Ship moored to the Trincomalee Naval Yard last year.

That’s right DW, you and many others did too. I hope the people at the Navy DNI at least take it seriously now, they were warned many time with detail analysis by me and others of the submersible threat ,

I too blogged on DW about LTTE subs and submersibles and the need for the Navy to get ASW and near surface warfare tools and start teaching our look outs to spot them.

Well let’s see what our lads do with it, I hope the Army and Navy put aside their internal "issues" and cooperate on this matter

Why we couldn't do such a thing? Its because of corruption spread across the public sector and politicians.

How to sponsor the education of a child of a fallen/disabled soldier

1. You can now easily sponsor a child of a fallen/disabled soldier through the sevavaitha scholorship program

2. You will be sending your contribution directly into the child's account (It does not go into a fund and there are no involement of 3rd parties)

3. Stipulated monthly amount is US$10 (Rs750-1000). You can contribute more if you like.

4. Duration of the scholorship can be decided by you. It can be 1 year or more.

5. Sevavanitha will provide you with the child's details along with contact info. You can contact the family directly and verify all the details yourself before depositing funds. Process is very transparent.

Please email me at hareen_m@yahoo.com for the application form and a detailed description of the process.

I don't understand how the Govt and defense forces failed to spot these and the 5-6 air strips during various air raids. The aircrafts are yet to be found.
I'm getting rather sceptical about the success of air raids.
Did the air force bomb LTTE hide outs as they have claimed? Were they the same "spotters" as the ones who missed the latest finds?
Judging by the comments about pre-warning looks like DW & its bloggers would have done a better job

When I asked about possible underwater vessels by LTTE, no one here said anything.

I am glad DW has raised this issue even before me.

A hunter made his dog go after a rabbit. Rabbit ran for its life and got away. The hunter got mad and asked "how come the best food in the world I give you couldn't out run the Rabbit?

Dog replied " Well, he ran for his life, I did not".

The lesson of the story is, when Terrorism is the lifestyle of Tamils, they will do whatever to get that extra edge. I am glad they don't have Nuclear capability.

Our job should be to destroy breeding grounds.

This destruction process has two components:
1) Millitary.
2) Social. That means sharing the good life with every Sri Lankan.

It also said that BOC office in Chennai is been attacked.

I agree with you 100%. However you showed this same behavior exhibited by LTTE towards myself.

Didn't you just call me a looser?

It looks like Tamils have been more innovative than Sinhalese as far as war is concerned.

They were well managed at gun point while we were given booze to party.

What a difference last two years have made. Sinhalese have regained their innovative edge over LTTE Terrorism.

Most submarines discovered by Task Force 3 were the ones developed by the sea tigers in the era of Eelam war 3. SLN had a review last year on the LTTE's under water capability and considered the threat to be minimum.
Earlier it was discovered that, the LTTE's experiment on submarines were scrapped by their superiors prior to the Norway brokered peace process.
It is common knowledge (almost undisputed) even among the public the attack made on the Dvora was indeed by a Human Torpedo.
Since then it was revealed, that due to the ineffective operation of the Sea Tigers and the ever tightening Naval cordon by SLN, the Sea Tigers have resorted to their former project more out of desperation.
Today's findings wont ring any alarm bells at the Navy Headquarters.

Came across this August 2007 article from The Nation written by Senpathi aka Keith Noyahr. Makes very interesting reading given what has happened:

http://www.nation.lk/2007/08/05/militarym.htm

Wanni top brass in ‘musical chairs’

Army Commander Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka on Friday made a beeline to Vavuniya where he was received by outgoing Wanni Security Forces Commander Major General Upali Edirisinghe.
General Fonseka met Divisional Commanders and Brigade Commanders to review the security situation in the Wanni and brief them on operations ahead, now that the East has been cleared.

The Army Commander’s visit to the Wanni came exactly a week after army headquarters announced changes in the Wanni command, which were reported in a Sunday newspaper last week.
Senpathi reported changes to the commands in the Wanni - 56 and the newly created 57 Divisions- on June 17. Brigadier Jagath Rambukpotha from the artillery was appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 56 Division while Brigadier Jagath Dias from the infantry was appointed GOC 57 Division.

Commander, Mannar Division, Major General Udeni Munasinghe, given a Brigadier’s appointment, retired prematurely and was replaced by Brigadier Channa Gunatilleke.
Area Commander Weli Oya, Major General Nimal Jayasuriya, once GOC 53 Division, was replaced by Brigadier M.K. Jayawardena. And to top it all, Security Forces (SF) Commander, Wanni, Major General Upali Edirisinghe was also removed and replaced by Major General Jagath Jayasuriya.

Ever since the GOC 53 Division Brigadier Srinath Rajapaksa was selected for a defence course in China, speculation was rife that Major General Jagath Jayasuriya, would replace him. This would have been a stepping stone to SF Commander Jaffna, from General G.A. Chandrasiri, who further climbed the ladder. General Jagath Jayasuriya has been brought straight away as SF Commander Wanni. With this appointment and that of Major General G.P.R.S. de Silva as GOC 21 Division, the entire Wanni Command has changed within a space of two months.

Changing the entire Command in a very vulnerable area, may send mixed signals to the LTTE. It may mean that the military would no longer be pursuing operations in the Wanni or, it could also mean that officers were handpicked to undertake specific operations in the region.

Generally, change of the entire command could be disadvantageous to the forces. SF Commanders and Division Commanders need time to familiarize themselves with Brigade Commanders and Field commanders, to get to know their strengths and weaknesses and to familiarize themselves with the terrain and be privy to intelligence inputs of the enemy, before taking the plunge. Of course, those leaving the command would pass on available intelligence.

Subsequent events have shown what an idiot that Noyahr was. I also remember him criticising promotion based other than on seniority (Shavendra Silva). The fact that Keith Noyahr made it to position of Deputy Editor is a good example of what happens when you promote on time served rather than ability.

Jagath Jayasuriya is the most successful Wanni Commander ever. Under him almost the entire Wanni has been liberated.

LTTE seems to have joined Noyahr in getting mixed signals that there ass would be well and truly WHIPPED.

To Keith Noyahr goes the Iqbal Attas Prize for Brain Dead Defence Journalism.

Blucher said...

Maybe MR will say that in 48 hours we will ceasefire for 48 hours and then tell SF to finish it off by 47.5 hours.

Reminds me of a story about SWRD. He promised to do something in 24 hours after the election. When he was asked why he hadn't done it, he said "24 hours is one day, one day I will do it!"

Tamils are getting emotional after seeing the Wanni massacres. What surprises me that many diaspora Tamils are calling on their TVs and Radio stations that they are willing to die for Tamil cause. It shows that you cannot win this war by militarily.

NOLTTE=Peace said...

LTTE is creating the massacres and showing as SLDF created to win Naive Die-Ass-Pora and International sympathy.

LTTE is duping them in the daylight with obvious signs, but the naive die-ass-phora and international community ignore the real facts and blame the SLDF.

LTTE is achieving their tried and tested objectives!

Bhairav said...

NoLTTE,

You can play the usual blaming games but obviously everyone knows that these are work of indiscriminate shelling of SLA.

Dieing is another and the amount of suffering these innocent kids and civilians endure is different thing. The footage of many wounded children who were thrown into tractor as dead animals and given them a horrifying ride through bumpy roads simply unthinkable. There were few eyewitnesses also say that two year and one year old kids ran into bunkers because of their parents were already killed or wounded due to the shelling, unfortunately the bunkers were full of flood water due to heavy rain, and they died there.

These are simply war crimes against humanity.

NOLTTE=Peace said...

Huthukudu will fall soon!!!

Update - LTTE withdraws from Puttukuduyiruppu

LTTE special battalions have withdrawn from Puttukuduyiruppu as a tactical manoeuvre in order to concentrate their fighting units in more strategic fronts. They have inflicted heavy damages to SLDF assets as well as eliminated a large number of infantrymen before the withdrawal with minimal damages to LTTE cadres and assets.

Fierce fighting is continuing in Chalai area and our ground commanders are confident that the SLA will not be able to advance in to this area. Our supreme leader is believed to be commanding from the front but senior leader Mr Amman is still being detained by the GOSL since his surrender (which I reported a few weeks back).

Contrary to what is reported on defence.lk, the 152mm artillery gun was a defective weapon abandoned by the LTTE. This gun was damaged beyond repair a few weeks ago following an air raid by the SLAF. LTTE are still in possession of a number of high calibre artillery guns. However, due to changes in geographic layout of the battle fronts at the moment some of the guns are being rendered unusable as their range is incompatible with the location of targets.

The 48 hour ceasefire is not a good thing for the army. We have great momentum right now and it could give the idiots an opportunity to reorganize. I'd rather the see the army at least clear the entire coastline (Challai area) before ordering a temporary ceasefire. Just my thought.

This is maybe the rason, why even Visuamadu and Challai have not been officially declared liberated so far,as the Tigers are still close to these villages. I don´t think, that our heroic army will be able to seize the remaining LTTE-land until independence day. You think, they will take it in the next five days??? Interestingly this complex has few Air-conditioned billets/rooms. My guess is, this has been allocated to some forigners who helped them with technology to built boats. Or for the hired foriegn Pilots (as the found some hanger like building there too).

2). No_Fire Zone
This is a good trap for LTTE. Government knew that LTTE moved to this zone with heavy weapons and focred civilians.
Whole process will make LTTE an unpopular enemey for the trapped people. Unlike Disora donkeys shouting here, trapped people know who the rela villian is.
Secondly, it made all the fish to flock to central point. So is hravest point for SLA.

I think this is a good move by MR. Now, LTTP cannot cry about civilians. Now LTTP should let civilians to go to a safer place. Otherwise everybody will criticizes them, not us.

However, we MUST not extend this period if the exodus hasn't begun.

The civilian issue is getting worse now. It is one of the top stories of most of the news agencies.

Gov. should do something ASAP. According to the new map, I think it needs few weeks, not few days, to clear everything. Therefore it is better to focus on civilian issue.

We cannot continue the current situation for few more days.

IF there is a 48 hour "truce" by whatever name, that is a BIG blunder by the GOSL. IF the IC, etc. get convinced that the temporary stoppage save a significant number of civilians and others, they will insist on extention.

Vigilante:

Even though personally I do not endorse or support your proposal of a short term ceasefire to help civilians I namaskaram you for you compassionate stand.

My tentative but strong opposition to ceasefire is also based on compassionate ground. LTTE is cunning enough to take advantage of any such gesture. That means more civilians get hurt at the end.

But, if the government is certain that, after all risk assessment of ground realities, the best thing to is to declare a ceasefire then I think both of us will agree to that.

Civilian safety is paramount but the fact of the matter is we can only minimise the risk for civilians. It is very much possible that relenting war effort for humanistic reason could bring even more harm to many more people at the end. So there is a fine judgement to make. I namaskaram you (respect you) for thinking about civilians at the heat of the war. Thanks!

PS: Vigilante I regret that someone called you names just because that you raised your cncerns.

Patriots,

Offensives against LTTE should not cease because of civilian casualties. What SLA can do is cease all hostile offensives and actions on one front, say after capturing Viswamadu, SLA can announce about 2-3 km FDL line as peace line. It should be guarded heavily but no firing in the stretch. Offensives should carry on all other fronts. ICRC and UN officials can use the above two to three km stretch for their activities like transporting dead bodies, injured people and essential items.

This will make International Community happy as well as help all innocent Tamil civilians to come out. Even LTTE cadres may come out by discarding their weapons.

What you all think?

After listing to those stories, one can understand that a huge international intervene might be underway. Notably, BBC indirectly urged international community to intervene.

I agree, stopping the war is not good. But we have to consider all the aspects. I hope MR+GR+SF have a better plan.

BUT, we MUST not extend this period if a mass exodus hasn't begun.

"people who have helped LTTE to manufacture various types of arms, bombs and boats can be converted into a defence industry of our own"

very limited use.

we would need defensive industries not the type that causes sabotage. also VERY FEW "innovators" would be alive after the war and remain in SL.

i'm sure MOST LTTE innovations were brainchilds of shanthan, shankar, soosai and a VERY FEW others.

but few uses will be there MOSTLY coming from their products than the developers.

also important are the processes by which they developed these. we should block these processes.

e.g. sometime back the SL ambassodor to cambodia urged its police to raid a joint that was manufacturing stuff for the LTTE including subs.

e.g. the biggest enabler for the LTTE was the absence of govt control in vanni. they could do ANYTHING!!!

e.g. vezapillai was injured in 1972while EXPERIMENTING with bombs!!! nothing happened!! 4 years later he killed the mayor.

these are the processes that will go on to develop something BIG. SLDFs should have intel, etc. to bust them EARLY. yes, in this regard we have a LOT to learn from the LTTE on how to bust innovation (than being innovative with their help).

Moshe Dyan said...

Pansilu said...

Moshe,

My line of thinking is:

SLN did a marvellous job with RABs, innovative thinking and studying LTTE boats and submersible crafts can lead to a lucrative industry. We need a very powerful Navy to protect our waters. Fast action boats and submersible crafts can be used to protect our shore line from LTTE supporters who are already in TN.

LTTE become stronger and stronger due to their sea wing. We must take a leaf out of their early success to counter any possible comebacks.

This also can be used as foreign exchange earner. Guns and ammunition manufacture is also a good industry. We can seek help from Pakistan and China to develop these industries. Even, if we do not export these items, we can cut down out expenditure drastically improving local manufacturing facilities.

KB said...

Patriots,
We need to drop leaflets into this pocket where LTTE is trapped warning the lower rung of the terrorists against detaining civilians against their will. They need to be told that in addition to being charged as unlawful combatants, they will face charges of using civilians as human shields and illegal detention of civilians. We need to make it very clear that these charges will carry very severe sentences.

Cheers!

Subject: Rally Now!

Dear Eelam Patriots:

While the Sinhala forces are boasting of victories, we urge all Tamil brothers and sisters to rally to bring International action against the murderous Rajapakse government. The protest rallies held in Washington DC recently were a resounding success and we must continue in our fight to bring justice and democracy to the people of Tamil Eelam.

A rally to protest the murder of journalist Lasantha Wickremeatunge and the Sinhalese war on Eelam is being organized in Los Angeles. Wickrematunga was a staunch friend of Eelam. He had the courage to tell the world that 'Tamils are being exterminated" by the Sinhalese. We are encouraged that some of our Sinhalese brothers will be joining this rally in Los Angeles . We have also received good response from CNN and the L.A. Times. Please encourage all your friends to join, especially the Sinhalese and Muslims. There are many Sinhalese in Los Angeles who hate the Rajapakse government and support the UNP and we can expect them to come forward.

At this rally, we will also show the world that the suffering of the Tamil civilians is similar to Gaza and that the US must intervene to stop the destruction. Martin Luther King Blvd. is the tentative location. We have written to some leading Democrats including Hillary Clinton and Mayor Villairagosa about this rally and we expect someone from their offices to turn up. We have to make full use of Lasantha's murder!

Further details will be emailed to you shortly.

Don't give up hope!!

Indian man commits suicide over Lankan issue

Jan 29 (MO) A youth allegedly committed self-immolation Thursday in front of Shashtri Bhavan housing Central government offices, protesting against the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka. Eyewitnesses said the youth, identified as K Muthukumar, hailing from Tuticorin district and residing in the city, was seen distributing his four-page phamplet, condemning the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka. After that, suddenly poured petrol and allegedly set himself ablaze.

How wonderful!

One mainstream FM channel of Toronto had a talk-show regarding the current Lankan issues earlier today, where many Tamils voiced their strongest opinions against the GoSL and one Sinhala guy, named "Fernando" came on line and he was embarrassed by the talk show host who is white- He was repeatedly saying LTTE shield the civilians for their saftey and not allowing them into liberated area..yap yap..and there are no such problems for Tamils..yap yap..in the end he was forced to thrown out of the line. It's good that white mainstream media started to listen to Tamils and they really think Tamils are oppressed by Sinhalese for decades.

It would be nice if we can put together one of the massive rally, at least 150,000+, tomorrow in Toronto.

You speak about the economy doomsdays scenario as if Singapore is doing well economically.

Lets get a couple of facts straight:

1) Singapore's debt is 93% of its GDP. Sri Lanka's debt is 75% of its GDP.

How is Singapore gonna pay this debt off when its birth rate is SO LOW. At about half the replacement level rate of 2.1 children per woman.

2) Singapore's economy shrank 12.5% in the 4th quarter of 2008. Sri Lanka's economy grew by 6% in the 4th quarter of 2008.

Singapore's economy will shrink by 5% this year. Lanka's economy will grow by 5% this year.

IN OTHER WORDS Singapore's economy is in a recession with higher levels of debt compared to Lankas.

Talking To Terrorists

Those making the crossing from around Mullativu are a different lot, from others who crossed during the last few months. They know it is twilight time for the sun god awaiting a call to be beheaded. Escape, he must, if he is to survive but before he could, those who lived in his domain have decided to move. They are emphatic the LTTE is destined to lose, so why wait?
Suresh, the LTTE fighter had ridden his bicycle to a territory not knowing the Army had already moved in so deep into the LTTE heartland.” Cadres know they cannot fight the army with a 15 days training. All males between ages 18-40 are conscripted. So they run when the army fires as they cannot stand and fight.
The will to fight is no longer there even among our senior cadres. More will desert, previously, their mother or father were taken to custody-now the LTTE is ineffective. If they knew how well we are treated more will cross. We were told repeatedly the Army will kill or maim us”. He had surrendered but many come in groups with a front liner often carrying a white flag.
23 year old Ranga was promised an IT training but instead given a crash course in military instructions and sent to the battle front. It was drilled to him the atrocities committed by the Army so he feared surrendering. He was shown newspaper articles of roaming white vans. They were lectured on the need that “all must be together to win the war”. He opined that the Forces are moving rapidly and the LTTE is in disarray and many have taken flight and no longer can orders be effectively communicated to the public.
Young men were watching the finals of the one day international against Bangladesh
squatting or stretched on the floor of the displaced persons camp (luxury to those who came from a district without electricity) seeing Murali display his skills with the bat on the brink of defeat, the soldiers on guard joined to watch TV; the poignant moment was when the soldiers and the young boys from the North, in unison cheered lustily as the winning stroke was made. One Nation, One People.
Those in the camps from the Killinochchi District have penetrating insights. The fall of the LTTE strongholds accelerated with the departure of the NGOs’ from the area; obviously the second line of defense by the LTTE. It was these foreign organizations that provided the LTTE with first aid facilities for the injured, excess fuel for the vehicles, preservative food rations for the fighting formations and building material for the construction of makeshift bunkers. The largest project undertaken by the NGOs’ was providing equipment for construction of the many high embankments which girdled principle towns that thwarted the progress of the Forces. LTTE could not survive for long without inputs of these NGOs that operated from Killinochchi. Often these foreigners, could be seen enjoying the ala carte menu of the Terrorist Kitchen in happier times.
Army’s hospitality treatment assuaged the initial fears instilled by the LTTE. At the crossing points itself the new arrivals are served with tea and biscuits. Soon a Tamil speaking officer arrives to offer comfort. Kind words were balm to scared souls. It was the women who feared most but the trepidation eased with the service of food parcels and the arrival of women officers with buses being provided to take them to camps. With LTTE presence becoming diminished in the operational areas, the people were able to bring more belongings and a row of trailers brought the goods to camps.
There were problems in the camps due to inadequate attention by the administration under GA Vavuniya. There was agitation in my presence that there were not sufficient mats for sleeping provided whereas there should have been buffer stocks, and the camp officers had to ease the tension. It was known days ahead that flow of refugees would be on the rise. Many felt the GA was not sufficiently caring or was typically bureaucratic!
LTTE trishaws mounted with hailers circle villages announcing fallaciously the likelihood of an invasion by the Army and demanding they leave homes forthwith. Most knew it is a false alarm but had no choice. A ring built around the village by armed terrorists in battle fatigue blocked the many exits making them leave compulsorily to a designated area. Having being shepherded to a virtual concentration camp the people were compelled to work- build emergency bunkers, fell trees, construct high embankments and dig wells.
Where free speech is not tolerated there was no right to protest and punishments were galore with jail sentences. A possible effective protest was to launch on a hunger strike as it attracted unfavorable publicity in the vicinity. Much of Prabhakaran’s image has been destroyed by his cadres. People remain baffled whether such herding of the population was to create a human shield or a concentration camp for emergency work. The objectives could be twofold.
Weeding bells pealed persistently during the CFA but the restrictions have come again. The marriages are frowned but permitted on the condition the honeymoon is on till midnight on the day of the wedding. It was comical that before the first light the groom or the bride had to join to serve the LTTE. It was an early to bed early to rise manipulation. Who would not care to escape from such a megalomaniac? Life became more intolerable with the LTTE forces losing ground.
The most horrific story was of an aged cultivator (former State Timber Corporation employee) who had hidden his two children (boy 27 girl 22) for two years on an islet around the many lagoons in the inland waters. When the LTTE came in search of them he told them the girl had disappeared to get married and the boy has run away. At 1.00 or 2.00 a.m. fearing the presence of village spies, the parents used to secretly visit the children in the hide out with roti fired in oil so that it is preserved to last three meals.
They use to take the children occasionally to a well which did not contain salt water for a bath . The happy family of four I saw at the refugee camp was relieved to be out of the clutches of the terrorists though the comforts at the camp are minimal. There was unanimity that mass forced child recruitment with parents held as sureties which began after the fall of the East, was the most telling factor for Prabhakaran to sully his image.
The boys in the refugee camp discovered a former LTTE child recruiter posing off as a refugee and sought the permission of the lady warden to assault him. Before long the parents joined the melee to launch the attack but the camp officials who are duty bound to protect all registered refugees had to intervene and escort him to safety and dispatch the offender to another camp. The little boys jeered him all the way out of the camp while a few cried. He defense was that he had to carry out orders of the LTTE high command –the stand many took at Nuremberg trials.
There was the story of human trafficking where LTTE agents safely dumped kids out of their territory to safe homes if Rs 200000 was offered. Many affluent parents had resorted to making such payment but there was no verification whether this was authorized by the LTTE or clandestinely carried out. If unauthorized it would have met with capital punishment so it more likely it had the blessings of the high command. The decrepit feeble and the sick had to pay Rs 5000 for not making a manual contribution to the cause.
A doctor at the government hospital had often asked patients who came why they arrived for treatment to discourage non LTTE cadres from visiting the hospital. It did not surprise me since I was told the same question was being asked by a high public official from refugees who came to the camp over the last few days? LTTE still has its operatives in strange places!!
A middle aged father from Puthukudiyiruppu described being incarcerated in a prison for sending his son to India in a cubicle designed in the form of a 6 feet x 3 feet kennel and he was fed in the same manner as a dog and was kept chained for 10 days.
A frequent complaint was that provisions doled out by the State or the NGOs were siphoned off by the LTTE agents. The LTTE had it own identity card system in place and arrangements with the cooperatives to which the food was dispatched. The goods were over priced and the locals knew part of it was channeled to LTTE pockets. Vegetables sell at Rs 400 per kilo, Petrol liter sells presently at Rs 1000 and Kerosene liter at Rs 320.Tractor motors have been modified to pick up on petrol and run on kerosene.
These traumatized people coming from entrapped areas yearn for peace. Their right to live a normal life has been more abridged than ours. Convinced the days of the LTTE are numbered, they, more than us, want the LTTE decimated for their own good. The wear and tare of hard life under the LTTE bears tell tale marks on their faces which show more age than the passing years. Swiftness of the desired military victory is with the hope that normalcy will return to their lives in their lifetime.

My Comment at ExpressBuzz.com LTTE can’t be defeated by Vaiko

Famous False Predictions: "LTTE can’t be defeated" by Vaiko ; "We have achieved Peace in Our Time" by Neville Chamberlain ; "If man was meant to fly, he would have been born with wings" by Ancient Conservative ; "God has ordained the Sun to revolve around the Earth" by The Inquisition. Unlike these others, VAIKO has the benefit of seeing the FACTS ON THE GROUND, already obvious to all but him. OR, is he really saying that the LTTE can't be defeated because he is going to HELP THE LTTE achieve its goals in Sri Lanka? Is this a wise leader that the people of Tamil Nadu should follow, or a blind and deaf serial JOKER, whose jokes will bring them death and destruction too as the LTTE flies home to roost in Tamil Nadu? Beware of these POLITICAL JOKERS!

Water, food, medicine, electricity, some even have air conditioning in these temporary over crowded tents.
Would you leave your air conditioned tent, to goto SLA controlled safe area with no air conditioning?

This idea of LTTE holding hostages is bullshit.

Wow! How do you like this?

[UNICEF clarifies vehicle recovered from LTTE does not belongs to them

Jan 30 (AT) UNICEF in a statement said yesterday that "a Toyota double cab" which the Army says it has seized from the LTTE does not belong to UNICEF. The statement claims that "An Army website had erroneously claimed the vehicle belonged to UNICEF." The press statement went on to clarify, "UNICEF does not have any double cabs in its fleet. However in the past years UNICEF has donated a large number of this type of vehicle to Government partners]

So, the trick is to NOT give the vehicles directly to the LTTE, but to give them to the Tamil Govt. agents in the LTTE controlled areas (where the whore-bitches ARE the LTTE) and then that way, get them to the LTTE motherfuckers’ possession nevertheless!!!

How novel! I guess it is only in Sri Lanka that this kind of fucking stupidity is allowed (was so during Ranil the Ponnayas time…we are still paying the price for that folly!)

I will write to Mr. Lawrence Cannon and tell him that since long ago, we Sri Lankans have been “deeply concerned” over the fact that the money for TERRORISM in Sri Lanak, e.g. the money to blow up the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in Colombo, where over 300 died and over 1000 civilians were wounded, came from the LTTE supporters in Canada.

Good idea, brother! I will join you in this!

Folks,

I can understand the present plight of Tamil Diaspora with what is going on in north of SL. After paying $2.0million a month for over 13 years, their investment is going up in smoke. That is their plight not trapped civilians or their comfort.

For the Diaspora nothing is enough to protect remains of LTTE to fight another day and also to keep eelam dream alive.
