A cautionary note on the present situation re Gen Fonseka. Our task was to allow things to settle down on their own which has worked. However, recent developments led particularly by a section of the diaspora Sinhalese is a cause of concern for DefenceWire.
DefenceWire team's stance up to now has been to avoid commenting on this dispute knowing fully well the capacity of both the present government and SF to come to a compromise on:
1. The direction the Sri Lankan Military will take
2. The direction General Fonseka would have to go
These may not be the most ideal directions for either, yet they are ones that are at best described as realistic and unavoidable.
There are many moves by politically motivated Sri Lankans, including Sinhala groups and also non Sinhala Sri Lankan groups to exploit a disagreement that has unnecessarily spilled over into the public's eye due to politics in the military and a very small section of the military in politics.
These groups, particularly those civilians involved who are not insiders or have little inside information can or will not understand the discipline of a professional soldier to take what he wants and to relinquish duty when required sans insubordination.
A professional soldier is not Dutugemunu. The Sri Lanka Army/Military is a modern Army/Military positioned within a democratic society. The professional soldiers serving in it will know when to let go. By asking them to perform a larger role based solely on selfish motives of individuals in the periphery, they may destroy that soldier and even themselves and their reputation.
The Sri Lankan Military and its leaders are now hailed the world over for their victorious feat. Their role in bringing peace to the country through military means will be remembered for decades to come as the ultimate example of a trained military executing its sacred task flawlessly from start to finish. But remember this, dear readers, military action is a means of achieving the end and the end is always political.
DefenceWire, as an impartial site whose work you have witnessed for over 3 years now wish to appeal to our readers to refrain from joining or supporting either 'camps' and to allow the professional soldier and professional politicians to resolve potentially resolvable issues mentioned above.
Thank you

«Oldest ‹Older 1001 – 1200 of 4363 Newer› Newest»So it seems that SF has threats from every side. But I'd take the threat from opposition very serious. Saratrh Manamendra who endorses SF as president, has been a man caught in connection to LTTE, in actions such as info providing, claymore transport and being a part of a team who posted claymores in public places. He has LTTE training.
SF, if chosen to contest as common candidate, will be running his campaign with this man as key alley. I am beyond certain that he will pass all his info into remaining pussycat enigma shells. SF will have no way to protect him even if we leave teh entire army as his guard.
CASC,
The paratrooper story is a big joke. If somebody is thinking that they can take down an elite and combat ready fighting force with a few thousands of paratroopers, that person should be sent to a lunatic asylum straightaway. India will be able to over run our forces but it will be a real costly exercise in terms of lives and time since vast majority of forces are trained and ready to wage a quasi-guerrilla war. Anybody who observed how Indian Special Forces faced a few terrorists in Mumbai can comprehend the insanity of the idea. Anyway, this is one good reason to have a strong military system to serve the democratically elected government of Sri Lanka, regardless which party is in power.
Department of Homeland Security out of line - LakbimaNews
“Fonseka should have called me immediately’’
by Namini Wijedasa
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Washington Jaliya Wickramasuriya last week said in an e-mail interview that he wished General Fonseka had told him earlier about the Department of Homeland Security seeking to interview him. Excerpts:
Do you think Gen Sarath Fonseka should have informed you earlier about the Department of Homeland Security requesting a voluntary statement from him?
I wish General Fonseka, a senior government official travelling on a diplomatic passport, had called me immediately. As soon as I did receive his call, I managed to speak with representatives in the US government on instructions from President Rajapaksa and the secretary of defence. We objected to the interview request, telling the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that an interview with the chief of defence staff would be inappropriate. I also conveyed to them that the president and secretary of defence stood fully behind the chief of defence staff, and that they regarded any information he acquired during his government service as privileged. The president advised me to have the chief of defence staff return to Sri Lanka as soon as possible, a message that I conveyed to the State Department.
Could you please describe the sequence of events regarding the incident with Gen Sarath Fonseka?
The foreign minister has already accurately described the sequence of events.
What action did you do to control the damage?
The foreign minister has described what actions were taken. We have done what was necessary to protect the office of chief of defence staff.
What was the reaction of the DHS to your overtures? Did you express your displeasure at what they did?
Everyone I spoke with in the US government was understanding and helpful.
Do you think DHS has the right to ask Fonseka questions about this sensitive issue, knowing that he has information which is confidential?
We made our position known that it was inappropriate to interview the chief of defence staff, and DHS understood that position.
DHS understood that position? Good for Wickramasooriya.

Jay Haan Perera,
Can you please stop practicing the Monkey-Donkey dance. Over eagerness to show your anti Sri Lankan monkey dance even with hiccups is not good.
I appear to have gained a fake.
As "fakes" go, fake Sam P did make sense on a couple of comments compared to the repititive diatribe from the real one.
ps: Sam P arriving on Friday 13th for the 2 day Confab organised by the PS. Any white vans available?
You will find me at GFH or at the RCGC getting my frustrations out on a small white ball.
Rajapaksha lied to Ban Ki Moon – HRW
http://www.srilankaguardian.org/2009/11/rajapaksha-lied-to-ban-ki-moon-hrw.html
Will Lankan expats respond to the call for help?
Next weekend, President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be involved in two significant events – hosting a group of Sri Lankan expatriates from across the world and seeking their support in the post-conflict development of the country, and announcing the date for the next presidential poll.
The date of the next presidential election is keenly awaited by the opposition though according to schedule such a poll is not due till 2011. However, increasingly, in public statements by the President and his ministers, the government has expressed interest in holding this poll first before parliamentary elections which must be held before April 2010.
Rajapaksa believes, with the end of the war and a significant development phase beginning in the north and the east, his popularity is at such a peak that he is confident of easily winning a second term. The main opposition, now formed into a 12-party alliance with the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress being the key parties, is banking on growing public protests over cost of living, wage-rise demands and demands for jobs from unemployed graduates and others, to oust the incumbent president. UNP unions, alongside JVP unions, are also taking part in the November 11 work-to-rule campaign by workers in public services like petroleum, water, electricity and ports.
The opposition says these issues could turn a majority of the people against the government. Thus the sparring goes on with the joint Opposition yet to name a common candidate, now widely believed to take on Rajapaksa.
In this uncertain scenario and also with parliamentary polls to follow the presidential elections, the call to Sri Lankan expatriates to help in the country’s mega development phase may not elicit the kind of response government authorities are seeking – until a clearer picture emerges after the elections.
According to Chandrapala Liyanage, chief organiser of the conference and media director at the president’s office, between 100 to 150 expatriates are expected to attend the 2-day meeting in which the President will on November 14 meet the visiting expatriates at Temple Trees and discuss the future development of the country, followed by a meeting at the BMICH the next day where ministers and connected officials in the banking, finance, investment and tourism sectors will brief the Sri Lankans domiciled abroad.
Liyanage, who recently returned after a stint as minister-counsellor at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Italy, is confident of a productive discourse, saying, “I am aware of many Sri Lankans who want to help their country. We are planning to set up a network of Sri Lankans prepared to help in the country’s development.”
However many professionals in Colombo believe the government needs to restore its credibility with the international community, particularly in the West, for Sri Lankans living in those countries to invest in Sri Lanka or return to help their motherland.
“There is a pressing urgency to restore our credibility with the international community. Expatriates can be used as ambassadors but that would happen only if the democratic institutions like the media are allowed to operate without hindrance that happens in a subtle and indirect manner,” a Colombo business professional said.
Athula Ranasinghe, head of the economics department at the University of Colombo, says expatriates can play at least three key roles – invest in the stock market, apply their human capital, knowledge and skills to rebuild Sri Lanka, and function as “peace diplomats”.
tbc..
..continued..
A retired Sri Lankan diplomat also agrees that expatriates could put the knowledge and skills they have picked up in developed countries to good use in Sri Lanka. He says the community could work as a bridge between Sri Lanka and the international community and try to counter the influential pro-Tamil lobby, especially in the West.
While the two events – the meeting with expatriates and the planned announcement at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party annual convention of the date for the next presidential poll - are unconnected and were never, intentionally, meant to coincide, Sri Lankan expatriates are certainly going to weigh all options taking into account the presidential poll stakes, before making decisions.
While investing in Sri Lanka is an attractive option given the post-conflict sentiment and development and that such an environment is unlikely to change irrespective of the party or coalition in power, decisions like for example returning back to the country would be taken carefully and probably left undecided till the two elections are held.
Ultimately for most Sri Lankans abroad, particularly those who fled ethnic violence after 1983 or left for economic opportunities, what is important for their return is a peaceful environment where all communities can live in peace and harmony and where people have the freedom to choose and practise their faith, profession and support the political party they prefer.
Only when such an environment prevails will the hundreds of Sri Lankan professionals abroad heed the call by the President to return to their land of their birth and help in its development path ahead.
Jay Haan Perera,
Fake or not, your anti Sri Lankan blathering is the same. Please go on freely with your anti Sri Lankan blathering at GFH. Luckily for us the GFH has an excellent garbage and sewage system. GFH can cleanup after you with no problems. I will request GFH to have ample supplies of Harpic and Dettol. By the way, don't forget to visit your birth place at the edge of GFH, the old defunct cesspit.
"And given his singular ruthlessness, fervent nationalism, and the fact that he enjoys the backing of the military – there is every chance that any regime headed by an ex army chief would see Sri Lanka go from the Rajapaksa Frying Pan into the Fonseka fire."

General 'to contest' presidential poll
(from BBC Sin.)
The 1st paragraph is about: increasing speculation that SF will contest
2nd para: UNF - SF should be their candidate
3rd para: No comment from the general
4th para – No comment from the opposition leader
5th to 8th paragraphs: not relevant to the story.
This is what you expect from a British tabloid paper, not The BBC.
I’m pretty sure this shoddy piece of journalism does not meet BBC editorial guidelines.
So let’s tell Priyath Liyanage, what we think of his empire.
BBC Complaints
A reply will come from either the department responsible or BBC Information. We aim to respond within 10 working days, depending on how long it takes to investigate your complaint.
[["And given his singular ruthlessness, fervent nationalism, and the fact that he enjoys the backing of the military – there is every chance that any regime headed by an ex army chief would see Sri Lanka go from the Rajapaksa Frying Pan into the Fonseka fire." - S Leader]]
Well well the mud slinging just began. SF will soon learn who the sly fox this RW is. Rw will almost certainly backmail SF and stab from behind. That of course if he enters the contest.
Over teh long years we learnt taht there cannot exist two leaders in UNP. Only one gay master and his kolu clan. Everyone else, either castrate yourself or flee to teh otherside.
I am believing the golden words of taboo. RW's life goal is not to rule this country, but to occupy a prominant but little work role of opposition leader and make it a reason for youth to get attracted to him and perhaps to get laid [youth gotta be male]. This hypo of taboo stands pretty firm so far.
SF has gotta be a blatant fool to contest from a union which agrees for nothing while iots leader stabbing him, and a pussycat endorsing for him, while himself having get submissive in teh hands of minority parties in explaining his view or getting forgiven or forgotten his past. All this is for holding the top seat for 180 days and then hand it over to teh most unsuccessful leader in SL history, who is teh only man who can reverse the victory which SF gained. In tha process risk his life by basing his campaign with a arrested claymore career for pussycats.
If I put any of these into a yes/no test, it goes resonating NO for each test.
I am still with teh belief taht RW will do a common joke of naming Sarath Manamendra ans hoping taht Sarath for Sarath will work. Or do a better joke by decalring himself teh candidate in teh last moment.
/Riau Won’t Grant Asylum to Sri Lanka Refugees
The Riau Islands’ regional government has reiterated that the Sri Lankan immigrants still aboard an Australian-flagged ship anchored in provincial waters will not be granted asylum if they are transferred to nearby Tanjung Pinang detention center.
“Although the Foreign Ministry has extended their stay permit, we remain firm in rejecting them,” Governor Ismeth Abdullah said on Sunday./

UNP-RW-mongal needs SF just to split UPFA vote base and not to crown him as president.. SL is under UNP-RW faction as I know.. Whenever RW realize that SF is a threat for his leadership he will attack SF and seems it has started..
I say SK old chap, when did we start commenting on Sunday Leader Articles?

/There is a huge difference between the people who died in the past and SF. Non of the others were national heroes. If something happens, the backlash would be tremendous and the main suspect would be government. So, I don't think it would be an easy ride for MR after that./
Well, if SF get murdered each party will blame on each other, anyway. In either way sinhala people will forget this after 2 weeks and MR should held PE after that.
People made wrong choices; JanakaP did so and VP as well. Its up to SF to do right things and taking risks.
Let me see Jay Haan Perera,
Sujeewa quotes Sunday Leader and then says,
Well well the mud slinging just began. SF will soon learn who the sly fox this RW is. Rw will almost certainly blackmail SF and stab from behind. That of course if he enters the contest.
What a genius? Does Sujeewa say anywhere that he takes Sunday Leader as a respectable news source? It seems that you need to add at least 2 more neurons to you 2 neuron brain to understand what is highlighted above. Your mindless eagerness to engage in anti Sri Lankan acts is very clear here.
Ninja,
Why are you writing SF obituary?
SF is a war hero, even the US of A wanted to interview him on tackling terror groups.
Why not send our people SF, GR and some of the paramilitary units plus TID and a fleet of white vans to help the Pakistan Governement. Now that the war is over we can send some of our troops too and earn valuable Foreign Exchange.
Also a copy of "Mahinda Chintana" should be sent ASAP. This is supposed to be in high demand according to Mr Champika Ranawaka of JHU. Copy of the Chintana should also be sent to Obama to inspire him dealing with his problems in Afganistan.
Sam,
You may disagree with your unmarked graves blah blah blah that Sunday Leader is a decent news paper. Even though SL is biased towards the Tamil cause, it is fair and balanced. You are biased towards Singalese and I am biased towards Thamil cause just like SL. However, you can't dispute the fact that SL exposed lots of corruption in Maharaja's government.
Jay,
I am very happy that we all are going to get SMS instead of ring tones thanks to your hero Ranil Wickramadoneky. I believe that this is the best thing since the slice of bread or the bowl of rice. It is all thanks to transparency in governance.
Sam
I know Sam, i'm such an idiot!
I was last in the Q when God was handing out brain cells.
Tell me where that unmarked grave is for scrummies like me to creep into. I will gladly oblige.

Jay,
This is your modus operandi. You try to be rational at one place and then you talk about how nice SL is and then you talk about how God gave you less. You are noting more than a fake pundit with a vicious anti Sri Lankan agenda. I am sorry, "Kanatte Cemetary" is a place for normal people. You should try jumping in to Castle Street hospital sewage pit.
Whoa!!! See, another Sakkili Motherfucker is exposed:

Whoa!!! Bugger!!! (KB, thanks! ;-)
First the cocksucker said the GOSL was "joking" when it revealed to the Aussies that this bitch was none other than that Sanjeev Kuhendrarajah, the Tamil criminal who had been deported from Canada, but then when the going got tough, the bitch had no option but to admit!!!
What amazes me is how simplistic these motherfuckers have become....first one mf goes on hunger strike and then eats Big Macs and now this mf first denies and then admits that he was a confirmed criminal in Toronto (and too before he tried to tell Aussies to believe his story of "persecution of Tamils" in SL!!!)
LMSSAO!!! Truly LMSSAO!!!

We need uncorrupted people to lead this country. A leader who can return the country back to the parliamentary system where all ethnic groups share equal power.
He has thrown away the green card because our General will not put country in danger for any personal benefits, like some other people who still hold on to US citizenship like it is the most valuable thing in the world.

Regrettably, Castle Street Hospital is not part of my travel plans but then again if you really want me to visit it, send the white van.
Jay, got to tell you a secret and you will benefit if only you follow my instructions.

thanks for sharing. mindblowing stuff.
Jay,
Nice try to deviate the attention. Once again, you try to escape the fact that your vicious anti Sri Lankan agenda turns you blind.

So was it with many happily-lived-ever-after folks who took a ride in the whitevans - it was never in their travel plans!
whitevan rides are only for Gold Club members but they are very few left in SL I am told.

"More LTTE and Eelam sites bite dust.
www.lttepeacesecretariat.com
www.tamileelam.com
www.eelam.com
www.nitharsanam.com"
this is on top of the 2 BIGGEST pro-TE sites that collapsed recently.
tamilnet.tv is still weeping!!!lol!
this is called the DOMINOS effect. never thought the TE movement will suffer so badly and so INSTANTLY.
but there are tamil elam websites that have quickly adapted to the new environment and thriving.
e.g. tamil nation
they changed their logo IMMEDIATELY after vezapilllai got a hot iron rod up his arsse from the BLEEDING TIGER to TULF SYMBOL!!!. now that is double interesting for hunters of TULF crappies for some time.
this is another example that our enemy is NOT the LTTE but TAMIL ELAM.
Ranil's preconditions to SF.
(1) Fonseka needs to dissolve the parliament next day.
(2) Appoint Ranilam himself as the Prime minister of the care taker governemnt. - VLADIMIR PUTIN PLAN!!
(3) Two minister posts for TNA and two for JVP, how nice. - ONE TNA MP - DEFENCE MINISTER, THE OTHER - FOREIGN MINISTER.
(4) Step down after abolishing
the executive presidency. - SO THAT THE PM (REFER (b) ABOVE) BECOMES THE BOSS!!
assuming this is true, this shows RW's plan was to humiliate SF and drop him as we expected.
RW created this hype.
RW now trying to put out the fire.
like a monkey with its tail stuck deep inside his arrse.
WLL SF come to politics?
Lot of ongoing disccusions... arguments... but ultimately
it seems that it is the MR, who has to decide!
http://www.divaina.com/2009/11/09/feature01.html
Sam
It appears that you are hard of hearing or unable to read.
I have never been anti SL, i have been anti MR, anti LTTE and anti corrupt politicians including the likes of CBK, RW and the rest.
Fortunatetly or unfortunatetly, the Foreign office of SL for some strange reason have seen fit to invite me (two seperate invites, one from UK and the other from France- can't they get their act together? Talk about organising a piss up in a brewery!)to listen to spin about post-conflict development of the country.
It's getting cold in UK and France (even in the south)
I need some sunshine.
Assthri,
If it makes you feel any better...yes i'm so scared.
Poor chap. you still have'nt got over those RC (buggering) days.
Feel free to release your verbal diarrhea.
It looks like Sri Lankan political arena brewing up for a show down. The Situation is highly volatile and easily could blow up in the faces of many prominent players from both sides. The million dollar question is when dust settled down who will survive to hold the power? MR will have a tough time; nevertheless he should be in the command at the end, if he is worth of his pinch of salt.
RW will stage plots and schemes with his goons inside and outside. However, neither he nor his goons have courage or balls to force the issue beyond the Rajapakshe’s grasp. This will be the last battle for RW. It is up to MR and his brothers/close friends to see that RW is buried forever at the end.
Jay Sakkiliya
[still have'nt got over those RC (buggering) days]
ha ha ha...so you remember uh?
Do you recall how we held you down, a hairless Tamil racist cockscuker and had our fun?
ha ha ha...those were the days uh?
Yes, indeed, I haven't gotten over that one-time when I tickled your budding prostate...ha ha ha...only becos soon after that I had to go to a STD clinic in Colombo...yes, I am lucky to be alive you jungle monkey with vile jungle diseases (they say you mommafuckers brought this H1N1 to this world by having sex with dogs in ToiletNadu and that's why the cure-drug is called "Tamiflu" ha ha ha...and yes, I am inclined to believe them)!!!
Ponna bitch...nha, you were okay for that one-time...but despite your pleadings for an encore, I did not do you again only because you had that noxious, unwashed, thalathel (gingerly oil) smell oozing out of every pore in you.
But yes, those were the days uh? Such "ethnic harmony" we had...such "ethnic union" we had I should say uh?
:)) :)) :))

According to this final decision is in hand of MR about SF. Until June 2011 SF is the CDS and to contest in any election he first should resign and then president should accept his resignation in writing. So first SF need to make his decision but still its MR who decides SF will contest against him or not.
Interesting situation than boring monkey dances here..
DP Jay (Diplomatic Passport Jay)
ha ha ha...
Quiz time...
Pick the most likely scenarios from the two below"
1) Jay's sakkili mother is a Tamil bitch who produced a brainless monkey called Jay
2) SF being the CDS, will obviously travel to the US on a Diplomatic Passport
Beeeeeeeeep!
Damn it, you selected #1 !!!
ok, number 2 is the correct answer, but number 1 is equally true...so, you get a concession 2nd prize of an unlimited supply of SL Immigraton Dept. applications to apply for a SL Diplomatic Passport!

gc,
good article.
correctly identifies the problem BUT the suggested solution is wrong.
"No self respecting politician should today fight for the rights of any linguistic or religious group, but fight for all."
so who says so and who will do it???
CERTIANLY NOT TULF, TNA, SLMC, ACTC, ITAK, TMVP.
how to make them do it???? or get rid of them if they don't and replace them with those who do it???
"it must be constructed by getting Sinhalese to learn Tamil, Tamils to learn Sinhalese, abandoning the idea of separate Sinhala and Tamil schools, and creating exchange programmes for Tamils children in the North to study in the South and Sinhala children to study in the East."
this is NOT going to work although these SWEETNERS are good things.
the problem is in the north-east ONLY, not elsewhere. ppl living elsewhere have NO ETHNIC problem.
how to get ppl of north-east to reject their OWN political aspirations exploited by ITAK, TNA, TULF, ETC.????
COLONIZATION.
that is the only way.
ALL TNA tamil elamists + vezapillai + anton balla , etc. spoke sinhala.
there are and will be sinhala speaking tamil elamists bcos the problem is not sinhala-tamil.
the problem is TAMIL ONLY RACE in the north. whatever the language they use is immaterial.
the north MUST be made MULTIETHNIC through COLONIZATION. if not "sinhala speaking" tamils in the north will continue to vote for TAMIL united liberation front (these politicians are also sinhala speaking), TAMIL national alliance (these politicians are also sinhala speaking), all ceylon TAMIL congress (these politicians are also sinhala speaking), illan-kai tamil arse kachchi (these politicians are also sinhala speaking)!!!!
and they will say what they have been saying. no change.
the problem is NOT language. the problem is TERRITORIAL.
I am "in the know"...yes and I know that Jay got his Diplomatic Passport by rummaging inside a "bokkuwa" !!!
ha ha ha...
OaO Asithri
Jay,
I think I had enough of your jokes for the day with that "alex is not a ppl smuggler but a ppl smuggler" story. This is yet another nice but failed attempt to cover up the terrorist acts. Keep trying your kazuthai dance.
Moshey
Sinhala is the language of the majority in SL (today 80%) and collectively over 97% of Sri Lankans speak Sinhala today.
So, all racist, communal minded cocksuckers better start to learn Sinhala if they want to "get anywhere" in Sri Lanka from now on as there is no "thamileelam" to run into.
Today in India the "National Language" is Hindi and except for in the racist minded ToiletNadu state (where they marry dogs), it is spoken by all other people in India.
Time our GOSL took note of this and put its foot down with regards to that Sinhala should be the binding, "national language" of Sri Lanka!

a white van will be waiting for you at KIA. (immigration computers are linked to white vans). you know the rest.
from toiletnet.
"Armed struggle became a need when non-violent and political struggles were repressed."
sure. what has changed now??? still the tamil elam PEACEFUL movement is repressed legally???
this is the funniest bit.
"In a situation, when the guns of three decades old armed struggle were silenced to avoid human catastrophe of Mu'l'livaaykkaal, the responsibility and duty of taking the leadership of the continuity of the struggle have been handed over to all Tamil speaking people, particularly to those in the diaspora."
guns were silenced to avoid a human catastrophe!!!! my arrse!!
then why the final dash to the jungle????
vadaikodai resolution is now scrap.
try oslo resolution, scaborough resolution, chennai resolution.
and please keep tamil elam transnational - out of SL. we have no problem.
All Patriots,
We represent all Sri Lankans, not just one ethnic group. We will remember all the people who died on that day by lighting oil lamps, having anti-war dramas, selling books, posters, flags, videos, etc. but we will not for mass street demos in the west like how we did when we wanted the west to save our leader.
We believe that Singala chauvinists led by MR is the biggest obstacle we have currently. Our short term goal is to bring Ranil, Mangala, Mano, an Rauf to power. This will ensure full implementation of the 13th amendment. Later on we will request for referendum in Jaffna to get more devolution similar to a federal system.

Fonseka2010 -Sri Lanka First
Yes We Can
This is CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN
The parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka must be held before April 2010, in other words within next 05 months. MR may or may not decide to hold Presidential Election (PE) before General Election (GE). In either case, holding an election without election commissioner is unconstitutional. President is yet to appoint a Constitutional Council (CC). Without appointing CC country will not have an Election Commissioner (EC). Holding an election without an EC will create unconstitutional illegality to the winning party or candidates. Therefore time is running out for incumbent office holders, if they want to secure parliamentary majority well into the year 2010 and beyond.
The present government is strong and most probably they may win the next election with simple majority whether it is GE or PE. However, getting 2/3rd majority are out of the question now. The incumbent government seems so strong on numbers but so weak in holding all together due to prevailing situation. Opposition is getting stronger and stronger. Chief Defence of Staff (SF) factor also affecting heavily to national consensus and the popularity of the MR.
MR could go for GE and stay in power for another two years regardless of the GE out come. However, if opposition win parliamentary majority or having weak majority in parliament will be disastrous to PE at the end due to internal and external pressure.
On the SF factor:
MR has two choices, if SF applies for resignation from CDS position in near future to contest in PE. Grant him freedom to contest or deny it. Both can be dangerous to MR’s popularity and his voter base. MR could easily solve many problems, if SF firmly announces his desire to remain in service and be loyal to incumbent president without going into political arena. Not only that will strengthen MR’s position but will increase his winning margins.
Only time will tell, what holds the future of Sri Lankans and where it will go?
Panhinda,
I am hard pressed to believe that Mervyn Silva actually wrote this or this is the same Mervyn Silva we all know. There is something not right here.
2010,
you are contradicting SF!!
is that a sign of UNA's slow move towards mano gona-son??
MR is not a SINHALA chauvinist. he may be a SRI LANKAN chauvinist to the entent of being PARTIAL towards SL to the detriment of TE.

RACE does not matter. what matters is nationality ----> sri lankan (equal rights and responsibilities OR tamilelam (NO rights, no responsibilities) but rights of unnaturlized aliens still apply.

Myanmar top leader to visit Sri Lanka
www.chinaview.cn 2009-11-09 10:36:53 Print
YANGON, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar top leader Senior-General Than Shwe will pay an official visit to Sri Lanka soon, an official announcement from Nay Pyi Taw said on Monday, without giving the specific date of his visit.
According to the Sri Lankan sources earlier, Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, will pay the visit near this weekend and the trip will last for three days.
Than Shwe's Colombo visit is a reciprocal one to Nay Pyi Taw by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa in June this year. Both visits mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
During his June Myanmar visit, Rajapaksa met with Than Shwe and had talks with Prime Minister General Thein Sein on promotion of cooperation in the two countries' bilateral ties, religious affairs, trade, economy, education, agriculture, forestry, hotels and tourism and transport as well as regional cooperation and mutual cooperation in international arena.
On that occasion, Myanmar and Sri Lanka signed an agreement on mutual exemption of visas for diplomatic passport and service passport holders of the two countries and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism.
The Sri Lankan president also visited Yangon and inaugurated the Mitta Village in cyclone-hit Kungyangon Township, built with the help of Sri Lanka.
Myanmar and Sri Lanka, which established diplomatic relations on June 7, 1949, have enjoyed cultural and religious ties since the 11th century.
Both Myanmar and Sri Lanka are members of the sub-regional grouping of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) which also comprises Bangladesh, India and Thailand.

What does this candidate whom you associate thinks about 13+?
Patriots,
We now have a martyr for our cause.
When people see others willing to make sacrifices for dream of seeing Gen. Fonseka as our president, they will also start to believe in CHANGE.
This incident shows that the 110 Ministers and the Royal Family are seriously worried about the prospects of Gen. Fonseka being president.
Only a very unpopular president would need to have someone arrested for making a comment on the internet.
We should report it to media and blogger rights organisations.
Patriots, this lunatic behaviour of Raja family marks the beginning of their end.

FORMER Toronto gang member Sanjeev Kuhendrarajah is heavily tattooed, has a criminal record for death threats and firearms possession that got him deported from Canada six years ago, and is now, perhaps improbably, the articulate and thoughtful spokesman for a boatload of Tamil asylum-seekers trying to get to Christmas Island.
A Canadian immigration department assessment refers to chronic alcohol and drug abuse in his youth, persistent anger management issues and a "love-hate relationship" with his mother.
Bugger! LTTE scumbags never stop talking about human rights, but in reality they are all thugs and criminals. Human smugglers, credit card thieves, drug smugglers, and criminal gang members begging the world to do justice to them while robbing and cheating anybody they come into contact with. Bah... LTTE welcomes all diaspora ballots
[TamilNet, Monday, 09 November 2009, 00:19 GMT]
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in a press statement issued on Monday welcomed all the current democratic moves in the diaspora, such as referendum on Vaddukkoaddai Resolution, Country Councils and Transnational Government and said that even if one of the efforts is at shortfall, it will affect all the others. “These are democratic efforts for which people have taken over the leadership to gain their political aspirations and while welcoming them the LTTE requests that they should be accomplished with full participation of people,” said the statement addressed LTTE headquarters. "It is now a historical duty of all Tamils to firmly tell the whole world that what they desire is independent and sovereign Tamil Eelam and they have their homeland, nationalism and the right to self-determination to claim it," the statement further said.
Excerpts from the press statement follow:
LTTE Press statement in Tamil
The Tamil struggle is a historical necessity to face chauvinism and genocide that is seen escalating at every stage of history.
Armed struggle became a need when non-violent and political struggles were repressed.
In a situation, when the guns of three decades old armed struggle were silenced to avoid human catastrophe of Mu'l'livaaykkaal, the responsibility and duty of taking the leadership of the continuity of the struggle have been handed over to all Tamil speaking people, particularly to those in the diaspora.
Righteous and long aspiration of Tamils to get independence and sovereignty is now negated at various levels by twisting that it was only an aim of the LTTE.
It is now a historical duty of all Tamils to firmly tell the whole world that what they desire is independent and sovereign Tamil Eelam and they have their homeland, nationalism and the right to self-determination to claim it.
Vaddukkoaddai Resolution and the mandate on it brought out Tamil aspiration for full independence even before armed struggle. Re-mandating it will tell the world what the people desire today. This is the first step deciding the bearing of Eezham Tamil national politics.
As a political structure, democratically elected Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam is a must of the present times to internationally justify Tamil rights and to work for a separate nation state, considering the given conditions of Eezham Tamils and the internationalised political milieu of the island of Sri Lanka.
In the meantime, democratically formed Country Councils in every country where Eezham Tamil diaspora lives, are helpful to extend people’s participation, to protect national politics from the dimensions of international power politics, to strengthen the grass root of transnational government and to practically help it in its functions.
A shortfall even in any of the three political moves will afflict all the others. To pave way for achieving aims, they have to be harmonious and protective to one another.
Working for liberation in unison, keeping in mind the sacrifices of people and the Great Heroes (Maaveerar), is the true homage to the Great Heroes./
kk,
thanks.
that is one aspect we didn't look.
so the situ is a bit complicated than the usual political bickering.
ninja,
although we have a good laugh over it, TAMIL ELAMISTS are upto something BIG here.
1. get all large tamil diasporas by country, vote for "VADUKODAI"
e.g. norway, canada, UK, US, swiss, france, aus, NZ, germany, etc.
vadukodai res although made in 1976, long b4 the concept of self-determination came into prominance, is a clever piece of work. it has all the ingredients NOW recognised for self determination.
2. get MOST voters to approve valukodai
3. then use these countries to recognise the UN recognised SELF DETERMINATION concept.
4. SL avoided this referendum thing so far. but when it is approved all over the world, SL will be forced to carryout a similar referendum to check the validity of the SELF DETERMINATION concept.
5. if found valid, UN will ask SL to come up with constitutional reforms to recognise it stage by stage.
6. if not, each country seperately will decide whether to recognise tamil elam or not.
this is the most feared route to tamil elam. this is what i fear most.
the ONLY solution to this is COLONIZATION.
if self determination does not have a geographical reference, for instance, if the north, east or northeast cannot be spun out as a seperate unit for the tamils, this method fails.
worst case, even if a referendum is called, it will return a NO vote if we had colonized the north by then. we can manage in the east thanks to past COLNZ.
there is no other way.
MD
Are you serious? Damn.. we then better appoint another grade 5 drop out as their leader for these super duper we tamiz diasspora.. If the so called international community aka white masters really can give them a seperate hoeland they should get one from a different place.. where they can't leave it from boats..
Poor Jay Sorry Pina;
[[I say SK old chap, when did we start commenting on Sunday Leader Articles?
Being selective are we or scrapping the barrel?
G & T for SK and a Big Mac for me.
.hic..
check please]]
Hope you got answer from Sam.
As you can see I have NOT quoted it as a news, but shown it as evidence for teh start of mudslinging. Whether Sunday Leader is a news paper or a mud program depends on the context [and not teh reader, mind you]. For matters related to national security politics etc they have never lived up to teh bare min of a news paper. Yes for things like Art, Leissure, Gardening or Hitch Hiking they may be fullfilling the needs of a news paper.
Importantly, it has over the time published cooked up news [completely fake], in order to achieve its agenda. Also it has twisted truth of events for teh same.
There are many news agencies who do that, but ppl read them and get a general common idea since the twisting and faking happens to only a certain degree. S. Leader has been regarded by almost all but UNPers and pussycat-hawks as a source beyond that basic level of minimum deviation from truth. However UNP ppl take it for gospel truth, and satisfy themselves at a time they should be crying. [For which MR shud be forever thankful to the paper]. Plus the Pussycats and NGO Pinas [that's you] use it for their biased and sneaky campaigns.
Now, your sudden response to me has two main points in it. Firstly in your command of English it is beyond anything certain that you can understand my reference to it as a mud ball rather than news. Why would you still write what you did. Well, it is your nature. You yourself compete Sunday Leader for faking and twisting. You like a lawyer [arn't you anyway?] picked the chance you saw in it. But like RW you also fail to understand that your readers have more neurons than you.
Second point is more important. Over the weeks or months you have been ignoring my questions and basically ignoring me. I am indeed not a worthy person for you as I learn your white master will not pay you for locking horns with me. So you chose to keep on posting crap disregarding my Qs. Now suddenly how come my posts are of importance to you.
In that regard shall we start the forgotten Qs, which you sneakily stayed away from.
Jay how about IDPs? tell us what you think about it.
Now that you woke me up. Pls don't run away. And pls don't write about where you have hidden your stolen panties. Or any other such out of topic response.

but IF a referndum is held in the north for it, i'm 100% sure >50% ppl there will want tamil elam.
"The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights article 15 states that everyone has the right to a nationality and that no one should be arbitrarily deprived of a nationality or denied the right to change nationality."
buggers are gathering support for it worldwide at this stage.
it is a matter of time some idiot in SL will agree to allow a referndum in the north and the east.
MD,
Not only that, MR delayed appointing CC even after parliament has sent its recommendations because he was unhappy about some of the names. Now he has no time to get another list. Therefore either he has to appoint same old list of people or go to polls with an EC. Both seem to be detrimental to his future.
MR has to be very careful about his actions from now on, if he wants to continue as the executive president even with simple parliamentary majority support.
His misfortunes are self inflicted by him self. He side lined SF and few others without good reason and didn’t stay away from people like Mervin Silva. People will have some problem of accepting his immediate family members popping up in everywhere running the country.

Moshe;
[[it is a matter of time some idiot in SL will agree to allow a referndum in the north and the east.]]
Even at his level lowest, RW also never mentioned/worked for this. It is obvious as all those ppl vote for teh set trend. Tamils vote for animals symbols in TN, and many other ritualistic or religious facts. So it will surely be a separation.
If you allow the self-determination to all communities, how many countries will there be in the world. India and China can match almost the 200 nations currently worldwide.
This is why we need countries unchanged, but basis of ethnic supremacy changed into nations. Only racists oppose this. In fact, today, the only ppl who fight for a separate country but never had one for past 300 years are Tamils. I believe even Kurds were better than them.
K&K;
Indeed mate. He gotta be smart at least once after May 19th.
Fully agree.
If he has brains he shud call for GE and offer SF to organize a colombo electorate. That will play back all teh campaign of Sarath Manamendra et al for MR [if SF accepts].
SF will take all those UNP voters [12k+ in F/B alone] and win Colombo for MR [ a feat he has never achieved].
SF will get most pref votes and surely be a good minister. Why not make him teh minister of internal affairs and leave the MFing police idiots in his hand for a while.
Brains are badly needed for MR group. Advicers going bonkers. MR shud re-think about his strategy and ppl [and at min stop facilitating in-laws as is R'pakses are pretty smart compared to De Mel and Sajin Vass G].
SK,
You are spot on, mate.
It is not still late for MR to correct himself and get SF as a strong ally rather than sending him to opposition.

"If you allow the self-determination to all communities, how many countries will there be in the world. India and China can match almost the 200 nations currently worldwide."
it is not that simple. in china it cannot be done thanks to COLONIZATION. yes even in uigir province where han chinese were 4% in 1949 now 46%!!
in india, it is the other way round. many nations (e.g. tamil madu) came together to create federal india.
however, they too tried SD but failed. in 1962 india introduced a tough law to stop this BS. thereafter india tightly controls ALL seperatist movements. superpowers also don't like to disintegrate india.
except tamil madu and bengal ALL other ppls are bound together by HINDI. this is another reason why disintegration won't work.
power sharing without division
why do we need DIVISION to share power with tamil ppl???? there is no need.
allow decision making freedom to authorities (who are tamil) in the north.
e.g. GAs
police
judges
regional health/education authorities
religious leaders
this way we can bypass racist TNA, TULF politicians until we find a permanant solution.
give power to those who ACTUALLY DO THE WORK.

even ppl from kerala, orissa, andra pradesh (areas not too close to tamilmadu) CAN talk in hindi. hindi is taught at schools they tell me. but NOT in TN. they speak 3 languages. but there are manu uneducated ppl in india and unfortunately they are not taught hindi which is not used in day to day life in south india.
and of course the hindis don't learn tamil, malayalee!!!!
similar situ in singapore schools. tamil is only taught to tamils but tamils for practical reasons have to learn chinese. but chinese are not taught tamil. many have alleged the singapore govt deliberately allocating scant resources to teach tamil and OPENLY favouring the popularisation of mandarin.
it is not about sinhala, tamil, hindi.
if SL had 92% tamil speakers the most sensible and least cumbersome thing for the ppl to do is, get the 8% master tamil.

[COLOMBO, SinhalaNet 2009.11.09 05:21AM] Ministry of Justice and Law Reform has taken measures to amend the Thesawalame law with necessary changes in line with the present requirements. The Ministry has appointed a committee headed by Justice Siri Pawan to look into the new provisions of the Thesawalame law. The Media Secretary to the ministry of Justice and law Reform Gamini Sarath Godakanda said.
Thesawalame law is applied to inhabitants of Tamils in the Northern Province and has been subjected to many controversies. According to this law, property can be divided into three categories, such as inherited property of the man from his parents; inherited property of the wife from her parents and the acquired property of the man and wife during their lifetime together.
According to this law, daughters inherit the property of the mother and sons inherit the property of the father. The acquired property is divided equally among the sons and daughters.
Critics say that some provisions of the Thesawalame law have not been able to evolve with time and social changes in society.
The Media Secretary said that the recommendations of the committee into the amendment of Thesawalame law had not still been received. He further said that Ministry had also appointed a committee to replace the archaic Prisons Ordinance and to introduce a new act to suit the present requirement. It is aimed at rehabilitating prisoners and to bring a more efficient prison administration structure.
Thesawalame is a territorial customary law of Sri Lanka. Thesawalame, in Tamil literally mean the customs of the land. It is ancient in its origin and has prevailed in Northern Sri Lanka.
Because of its popularity among local inhabitants, the Dutch first codified it in 1706 and the British gave it legal validity by the Thesawalame Regulation No 18 of 1806, Ordinance No 5 of 1869 and the Matrimonial Rights and Inheritance Ordinance of 1911.
The Thesawalame Pre-emption Ordinance of 1948 amended and consolidated the law of Pre-emption relating to the lands affected by the Thesawalame.
This is widely spoken for its recognition to the necessity of women’s ownership to land property for the security of their future.
Thesawalame is still a customary among a good proportion of the Jaffna Tamils.

(2) Extent of infrastructure destruction by LTTE (Kilinochchi municipal water supply and Kalamadululam reservoir to begin with)

(4) How many houses were left without roofs, doors, and windows when LTTE was in the marathon.
(5) How many land deed disputes are there due to years of LTTE terrorism activities.
(6) How much resource (money, machines, materials, and men) Sri Lanka has at it's own disposal to rebuild the structures and infrastructure destroyed by LTTE.
(7) How many terrorists are hiding among- You may know this one.
(8) How do we net remaining terrorists with minimum harm to innocent civilians.

(6) How many land deed disputes are there due to years of LTTE terrorism activities.
(7) How much resource (money, machines, materials, and men) Sri Lanka has at it's own disposal to rebuild the structures and infrastructure destroyed by LTTE.
(8) How many terrorists are hiding among- You may know this one.
(9) How do we net remaining terrorists with minimum harm to innocent civilians.
(10)How do we resettle 200,000+ Muslims and Sinhalese chased out by LTTE from their original habitats (some are still living in camps for 25+ years).
I doubt that you have any expertise in military, infrastructure rehabilitation, and engineering. Try to understand the issues associated in resettlement of displaced civilians.
Any thoughts on Muslims and Sinhalese who need to be resettled. Do you have any concern about them? Are they of any lesser human beings for your to show a speckle of concern?
Do not think that your dumb reasoning is going to resettle the displaced civilians. Just screaming like a true kazuthai will not bring any of above issues to a closure.

Section of Northern media decides to support if Fonseka is contesting
(Lanka-e-News, Nov.09, 2009, 7.35PM) It is reported that a section of the senior personnel of the Tamil media has decided to support Gen. Sarath fonseka if he comes forward as a common candidate for the Presidential elections.
They have cited many reasons for taking this decision…
Firstly, though the South had criticized him, they who have been in Jaffna and who have been under the rule of the Army for 14 yeras. Therefore they don’t see any difference. However, those in the South had not experienced this, and is why they are criticizing. Today, politicians who are mingling with the people in Jaffna are making a fast buck because the Army is not there. Secondly, even now the common candidate is for abolition of the Executive Presidency. Thirdly, Sarath Fonseka will respect the laws of the country without any difference between Sinhala and Tamils. Fourthly, While corruption charges are being leveled against this Govt. as robbing State assets in broad daylight, as against Fonseka, there isn’t any such accusations from even his enemies. Fifthly, because the President has expressly stated he is taking entire responsibility for the war, Sarath Fonseka cannot be held liable on the war.
However, another media group of Jaffna, is of the view that, regardless of who comes to power from the South, their issues and problems will never be solved. It is therefore better to remain silent rather than get deceived.

What are Blackberry and Iphones? different from landphone and cell phone?
Though terrorists had high tech satellite phones, they were killed like dogs after tracking their positions.

POINT #1
in fact HINDI ONLY can take you a very long way in india. PLUS english, that's enough. expect in tamil nadu.
as i said hindi is spoken in EVERY state except TN. but the level of knowledge differs.
but if you are travelling, then you have to deal with all sorts of ppl and their hindi knowledge is low in the south. it is a different case in business, profession, etc.
POINT #2
hindi is fast getting popular in india. up from <40% to >41% in 2001.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_languages_by_number_of_native_speakers_in_India
whereas tamil speakers % is falling from >6% to <6% in 2001. expected to be <5% (immaterial) at the 2011 census.
POINT #3
hindi speakers were NEVER asked to learn tamil, etc.

PNM requests Gen. Fonseka not to contest Presidential elections
by Ifham Nizam
The Patriotic National Movement and other affiliated patriotic movements along with the Maha Sangha yesterday convened a meeting at the BMICH where they unanimously requested General Sarath Fonseka not to contest a future Presidential election.
The Maha Sangha headed by Ven. Medagama Dhammananda Thero, a member of the Asgiriya Chapter and Dharmarama Vijaya Foundation said that the Maha Sangha would make a request to the Ven. Maha Nayake Theros to request General Fonseka not to enter the fray in a future Presidential election.. "General Fonseka should not fall prey to national and international conspirators", the Venerable Thero said.
Ven. Dhammananda thero warned that if General Fonseka defied the Maha Nayakas’ request and proceeds to contest, they would be compelled to issue in a Sangha Achgnawa, the highest level of protest by the Maha Sangha practised in ancient times. However, Ven. Dhammananda Thero was optimistic that there would not be any need for the Maha Sangha to resort to such protest. "General Fonseka is a national asset", the Ven. Thero said.
National Patriotic Front Convenor Wimal Weerawansa MP said that General Fonseka had accomplished a great feat for the motherland and he should not to the whims and fancies of some puppets who tried to promote separatism. "General Fonseka lives in every patriot’s heart and he should not make any suicidal move that would tarnish his image", Weerawansa said.
Though anyone including retired Army personnel could contest the Presidential election, General Fonseka was someone special and he was a national treasure and should be careful of the motives of countries like Norway.
# National treasure and national asset should not do any politics and get political power.. just stay home or stay as CDS like a photo until all other politicos earn enough money... Mahanayake theros the caste experts must protest about his caste too..
LTTE’s EP leader Ram recaptured
by Hemantha Randunu
The LTTE Eastern province leader Ram, who had escaped from Army, was arrested yesterday. The Army nabbed him following a massive search operation conducted in the Minneriya jungles.
Ram had been under interrogation in an army camp in the Giritale Area in Polonnaruwa, when he fled last Saturday (7).
With the escape of the LTTE Eastern Province leader, the Army commenced a search operation with over 3,000 soldiers deployed to trace him down.
Ram was captured while he was hiding in the jungle near the Minneriya tank.
Ram had been appointed to the leadership of the LTTE’s Eastern Province following the defection of Karuna Amman. He had a through knowledge of the terrain in the East and led a number of attacks against the security forces.
Ram had left for the North after his members were killed by the STF during confrontations.

Well thats also true.. even those people don't know whats going on.. some one told in India that "he was confused"..
Ranil puts forth conditions for endorsing Fonseka’s candidature
Appoint govt. with Ranil as PM, revoke Emergency Give TNA, JVP Cabinet posts, end Exec. presidency
TNA should accept Fonseka’s stand on Tamil issues
Close on the heels of the newly formed UNP-led United National Alliance’s approval for Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Sarath Fonseka’s nomination as its candidate at the next presidential election, UNP and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday put forth conditions for endorsing his (Gen. Fonseka’s) candidature.
Wickremesinghe said Gen. Fonseka had to agree to appoint a caretaker government with him (Wickremesinghe) as the Prime Minister in the event of his election.
The UNP leader expressed these views in an interview with the Editor of The Sudar Oli, Nadesapillai Vidyadaran, published yesterday.
Wickremesinghe said the United National Front, the JVP and the Tamil National Alliance should be agreeable to Gen. Fonseka’s candidature. He said he expected Gen. Fonseka to clarify certain issues concerning the Tamil people and the Tamil National Alliance should endorse that General Fonseka’s clarifications were acceptable to the Tamils. "I expect even the JVP and the TNA to come to some understanding over this issue," Wickremesinghe told the Sudar Oli.
The UNP leader said that he expected the common candidate to fulfil certain other obligations and make some pledges in public regarding the abolition of the executive presidency and the resettlement of IDPs.
Wickremesinghe demanded that General Fonseka make a prior announcement that he would assign important portfolios to the JVP and TNA in the proposed caretaker government. Fonseka should pledge that he would do away with the Emergency Regulations and ensure the full implementation of the 17th Amendment.
Wickremesinghe told the Sudar Oli that he was hopeful that an understanding on these issues could be reached among the Opposition parties.
"Under these circumstances the Government that is already in a dilemma could even postpone the intended presidential election, in which event it would be advantageous to us" the Opposition leader said.
Wickremesinghe was quoted as stating that bringing an end to President Rajapaksa’s rule was the most important of all issues.
# OMG.. otherwise Wikramadonkey will not approve SF and what a big problem this is going to be.. Now more problems for SF in addition to his own decision and MR's approval.. HA HA
The biggest joke of UNA:
The very people who have said “any arse hole can fight a war” and general SF is not even suitable to lead Salvation Army! They also said Thoppiyagala liberation is nothing to boast. These people ridicule our heroic forces and wished all the way LTTE will win the war.
Now they have turned 180 degrees the other way and want general SF to contest presidential elections! If general SF has any brain; he should out rightly reject RW, Mangala, Mano all the other traitors as pariah dogs.
We recognise the general as a war hero and respect his freedom to do as he wish too but if he choose to represent RW, Mangala and Mano clan against MR; that will be the end of SF. I hope that general SF will realise that before it is too late.

/Looks like SF has taken both sides for a ride and enjoying guessing game. At the end Mongal's common candidate will be a wedding without a bride./
This may be the case.. If so another classic from good general to our political clowns.. But hey, mongal need no bride.. RW is there for his gay wedding anyway..
I cannot believe treacherous behaviour of some our Sri Lankans; especially those who support RW and Mongala clan. Even if I am to forgive RW for his ridiculous peace accord which has been brokered by LTTE supporting Eric Solheim; there is no way I could exonerate RW and Mongala for their treacherous behaviour during last two to three years.
Sri Lankans should get together and rally behind MR regime to burry RW, Mongala, Mano Gonason and all their goons at the next available election. If they failed to do so, it will be the end of Sri Lanka as a unitary state.
I also endorsed what Sujeewa has said yesterday. MR should ask general SF to contest next general election on UPFA ticket in a favourable electorate and offer him a high ranking ministerial post to serve the nation. The good general must not betray the nation for personal gains by supporting traitors.

"Send me your email and I will send you some pics from my infrastructure and rehabilitation work in Sri Lanka."
Very good. I don't need any pictures, but give me an outline of engineering work related to restoration of Kalamadukulam reservoir and damaged downstream structures. Then give me little details about how we reconnect the restored portions of the dam to old portions of the dam for a start.
"Not much as I was not allowed into the war zone and neither were you... and neither of us know the extent of the infrastructure damage that was done by the advancing troops in addition to the damage by the jerks from the LTTE."
Speak for yourself. We know that virtually every destruction to infrastructure was done by LTTE. If you do not know the kind of damage LTTE brought to Kilinochchi water supply, just talk to a few Water Board Employees.
Truth behind your "duh" is that you have absolutely no clue at all for what is happening up in Vanni or how much of a challenge it is to restore the infrastructure. If you really want to put your two cents, please come up with good facts, not just disinformation.

Disagree. The selfless Sacrifices made by RW for the sake of MR is unlimited. If MR is a grateful person he should make a temple in the name of RW. 'Kathragama deviyo' did nothing compared to what Ranil did for the benefit of MR (LOL). RW still haven't abandoned such good deeds.

Dr. Nadesan then told Browne: “The friend of the West is Ranil. Why don’t’ you ask him to take part in the APRC and get involved in a bi-partisan approach to get the best deal for the Tamils? The history of the Tamils indicates that the Sinhala leadership too has played politics whenever one party tried to solve the problem.”
The consensus of the moderate wing was that Ranil has to take the responsibility of rising above party politics and approach the problem in a non-partisan manner to develop a common solution to bring about a durable peace

Excellent, now they want to negotiate with a Sinhala ponnaya. In his confused state of mind, he might end up giving two thirds of the country instead of one third. Nice try.

I do not remember any.
And also I would like to know weather they are going to issue the same 'Sangha Achgnawa" against Ranil (or somebody else behalf of him) if he is going to contest for the elections. What a country!

Caissons? Very interesting indeed. We can repair a heavily breached earth dam and downstream infrastructure with caissons? What kind of caisson are we talking here? What are the dimensions of this "caisson?" What is it made of? What is our soil stratigraphy? How do we address seepage issues? How are we going to install it. How long will it take?
It is not a rocket "surgery" (what ever it means to you) at all. That is why people go to an engineering school for 5+ years to learn these. For a clueless buffoon it is just one word "caisson." Please keep this two cents and buy a few clues if you want to talk about infrastructure restoration like an novice.

Yeah, it is bit silly. They should try to stay away from this kind of stuff.
As SF said, he alone should decide whether to enter politics or not. Every one else should respect his decision.
Hemantha,
Bro, I have always respected your views and mine were not far away from you. However your last post confuses me. Could you please elaborate on your last post?
There is no point issuing any order to RW ponnaya or Chandrika for that matter because both of them are power hungry monsters who will betray anybody to stay in power. However, the general can make big time reversal, if he decided to join the traitors like Monagala, Mano Gona and RW. Maha Sanga is trying hard to protect SF and the motherland which is at cross roads.
Please do not think SF has any future with traitors. He will only weaken MR regime and commit political suicide by joining UNA.
K @ K
Thusitha,
The general is free to take any actions he wishes to take. However, if he chooses to join RW, Mongala and Mano; he will be a traitor to the nation. No one is free to play with country’s future and integrity for that matter.

cannot understand why the SF in PE hype is still strong.
for SF to contest the PE, MR should ACCEPT his resignation from the post of CDS.
MR can delay it until after the nominations day if he wants to!!
AFAIK, SF has done NOTHING so far in DIRECTING THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION of armed forces in his capacity as CDS. he has ALOT to do before prematurely resigning.
i'm sure he will do a pretty good job in what he knows best before entering politics.
MD,
That is what I also can’t understand. I thought he was side lined by MR somehow directing present commanders of three forces take orders directly from GR or MR by passing SF. That is the only way SF can get frustrated because he will become only a ceremonial figure without real power. If SF is still the lead commander for defence forces; then he has lot accomplish with the support of MR and GR.
However, there is something brewing between MR regime and SF which we cannot understand properly. If so, then MR is the only person who can clear the dust for SF and many others. We all remember what happened to former SL ambassador to UN. IF MR is going to do the same with SF then it could become bad karma for MR. I hope it is not.
However, if RW manage to upset political future of MR using SF somhow the following will be the scenario:
Be ready to accept Eric Solheim again meddling with our internal affairs and offering ealam on a platter to Tamil separatists, if RW ever comes to power again with SF or without. RW will be a nobel peace price winner with the help of David Miliband, Hilary Clinton, Eric Solheim…..etc etc.
Please also remember thousands of soldiers who sacrificed their precious life to free our mother land from worst enemy we have ever seen. They will turn on their graves, if we ever let RW ponnaya to reverse what they have achieved.
K @ K
/AFAIK, SF has done NOTHING so far in DIRECTING THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION of armed forces in his capacity as CDS. he has ALOT to do before prematurely resigning./
As I understand SF was not given any powers so far, even though increasing powers of CDS was passed parliment it was not gazzeted so far. Further, GR gives orders to JJ by passing SF. Thus SF is just sitting on that chair.
/Ven. Dhammananda thero warned that if General Fonseka defied the Maha Nayakas’ request and proceeds to contest, they would be compelled to issue in a Sangha Achgnawa, the highest level of protest by the Maha Sangha practised in ancient times./
Monks didn't do any such thing agaist CBK or RW thats true. One reason may be they knew they are not realu buddhists and then no point taking such actions against non buddhisits or fake buddhists who don't care about such actions. But they know SF is real buddhist and he has buddhist background and the people who support him by heart also real buddhists so such action may do some influence. Another reason may be these monks really love SF, they truly believe he joining (K)UNA is wrong and bad for SL so they do whatever (the max) they could do to prevent it. Parents advice their child as they love him and don't care about other kids.

Keshara,
Let's start from the end.
"Please do not think SF has any future with traitors. He will only weaken MR regime and commit political suicide by joining UNA."
Agree. I too do not like SF contesting this election.
"There is no point issuing any order to RW ponnaya or Chandrika for that matter because both of them are power hungry monsters who will betray anybody to stay in power."
See. You said it all there. That is enough reason to issue a 'Sanga Achgnawa' against them many times. So far they haven't done any such thing. Against P-toms or Ceasefire agreement? No.(Malwatta hamuduruwo was going to make a comment against the ceasefire agreeement. RW visited the prelate and promised money for the temple. Apawath wenkamma hamuduruwo nemei kata helluwe. Ehew hamuduruwaru me manussayata "sanga Achgnawa" panawanawa kiyanne wihiluwak.)
Hamuduruwaru (and Wimal) affiliated to one candiadate asking another possible candiadate to not to contest elections and threatening to issue "sanga achgnawa" against him if he contest is ridiculous.
"Maha Sanga is trying hard to protect SF..."
Oh no. They want to protect MR.
" and the motherland"
In case of some of these hamuduruwaru I believe so too. But I have doubts about Wimal.
"However your last post confuses me. Could you please elaborate on your last post?"
Our country is one of the oldest democracies in Asia. Anybody can contest the elections. Make no mistake about this. Specially a war hero should have this right. Hamuduruwaru are threatening the hero by assuming that he is going to side with Ranil Mongal clan while prelates’ always keep entertaining the same traitors and accepting their bens car donations.
(RBs wife minihage horaganige gedarata gihin e ganige ahinsaka minihata pihiyen anna (hora gani gedara hitiye na). E wunata ageta RB th ekka janathawage salli kaka loke pura yanawa)
I see some similarities. Hamuduruwaruth honda minihata punish karala Ranilla Mongalla Chandrikala ekka hondata innawa.
(Double standard). I don't like that.
I am angry at MR and SF (more at MR because he is the one who has power and more options to correct the mistakes). They could have achieved a lot together. Instead they decided to play stupid.
I end up arguing behalf of SF most of the time because he has no voice. The government media has been quiet about him for months now. (The government affiliated media is criticizing him) Opposition media is gradually destroying him. And he can't speak to the press also because he is a military officer. So whenever I hear an unfair criticism I go against those. But that does not mean I agree with his decisions.
I think he is making a mistake here if he chooses to contest. But I do not think he is going to be a traitor to his country as some tries to paint. It is not in his character.
[The Patriotic National Movement and other affiliated patriotic movements along with the Maha Sangha yesterday convened a meeting at the BMICH where they unanimously requested General Sarath Fonseka not to contest a future Presidential election.]
These people are the cancer in Sri Lanka.
SF should only contest if he is so certain of winning the election. I think Rajapakse family has enough vote savings in the bank.
This is one of the most shameful era of my memory in Sri Lanka.
Like someone mentioned, MR's lack of leadership has made a mess in SF's future.
Sinhalese is loosing the victory over LTTE really fast.
I wish SF would have conquered both NE and West at the same time.

It is not a rocket "surgery" (what ever it means to you) at all. That is why people go to an engineering school for 5+ years to learn these. For a clueless buffoon it is just one word "caisson." Hemantha,
Thanks mate; you made it abundantly clear your position now regarding the conflict between MR and SF. I agree with almost all you said. My position is also the same.
However, the good general is like a person who collects milk for us from dawn to the dusk but does him has the freedom to throw a lump of cow done to the milk after all the praise he received from public.
I want to protect the general by all means. I also put the blame squarely on MR for present debacle with SF. However, the general is not free to make any decision as he wish in his capacity right now. If he does; he has many things to lose than to gain as his actions will be scrutinised by many for years to come.
I sincerely hope that the general will have the strength and will power to stay clean from traitors. His time will come in near future to serve the nation as he wish, if he opted to stay clean until his time comes.

GC,
SF should only contest if he is so certain of winning the election.
Even if he manages to win over MR; he will be working with RW headed parliament with so many ministers who hate him; soon after. What is the point? What he can accomplish without the backing of parliament?
And also RW wants to abolish executive presidency soon after the GE. Then what will be the position of SF?
No! No!! No!!! He is not in a position to win anything right now, he has to wait and see whether MR will make it or break it. If MR continue his journey with the same obsession similar to what we have seen after 19th of May 2009; he is going to fail big time.

ninja,
i have to disagree on that.
SF is not going to be the man in the ground. that would be JJ, etc.
SF has to come up with a framework for the strategic direction of armed forces. he has enough powers to do that already.
obviously it will not be published until discussed, etc. but he has to come up with that. it hasn't happened still.
the act already empowers him to do so.
as to the action of co-ordinating between the 3 forces.....that comes thereafter.
but it has been only a few months so we have to allow him time.
if i were SF i will look into the following strategic issues. prioritize them. and have a framework to address them with the combine effort of SLA, SLN, SLAF, STF.
1. tamil madu fishermen violating our space.
2. resettling at a faster pace
2.1 speed up landmine clearing
2.2 speed up detection and handling of LTTE cowards hiding among IDPs
2.3 better co-ordination between SLA in camps and SLA in areas IDPs are resettled. now there seems to be a mismatch. SLA in areas of resettlement carries out a fresh investigation into the ppl.
3. time frame to increase the SLDF size.
3.1 how much/many for SLA/SLDF/SLN
3.2 milestones
3.3 distribution and mix
tradesmen, soldiers, changes to defence/offesnsive divisions
4. documentation of "elimination strategies at source". long term moves to detect trouble makers early.
5. a capability assessment of SLDFs as a whole (for the first time). identify capability gaps; have plans to fill them.
only examples. there are PLENTY that we are unaware of.
IF SF decides to do politics at this moment he may have two reasons.. 1) Revenge against MR/GR and destroy them in a suicidal way disregarding country 2) A great intention to put the country into right path using political power cleaning the corrupted inefficient state system.. I don't see a third reason.
If SF resigns MR has to accept it or delay it.. If he accepts its also like another suicidal war.. If he delays we are dragging the problem..
In a way SF contesting from (K)UNA is similar to KarunaA contesting from UPFA.
Anyway.. this is nothing much for celebration for donkey diasspora.. Whats new for this year mahadonkey day..?

Folks,
Let us consider couple of likely scenarios for a moment; if SF contests forthcoming PE against MR under the banner of UNA and wins it to become executive president of SL and soon after UNA will win majority of the parliament through GE.
Now, all UNA ministers including RW, Mongala and Mano Gona will hate SF and opposition (MR and his MPs) also hate SF. The executive president cannot do anything unless UNA agree with them. RW will propose to abolish the executive presidency and 99% of the parliament will agree. RW will become the sole authority and with the blessings of the west do what the Tamil Diaspora wants.
We cannot expect anything good from RW, Mongala or Mano Gona clan, if they win. Only way to beat RW clan, Diaspora and anti Sri Lanka west is to make MR wins both PE and GE.

the more they leave SL, the better it is for SL. on sea or on land, they discredit SL anyway. now the IC has come to know the reality. so we have nothing to lose.

[[No separate state, engage the government – Des Browne tells Tamil diaspora
Monday, November 9, 2009
By Our Canberra Correspondent
(November 10, Canberra, Sri Lanka Guardian) Des Browne, the British Envoy to Sri Lanka, told the Tamil diaspora in Australia that, after the comprehensive military victory, the only option available is to engage the government in working out a solution for the Tamils.
In the open dialogue with the Tamil representatives he dismissed outright any possibility of the international community supporting a separate state. He told the Tamil diaspora that big powers like Russia and China will be sympathetic to Sri Lanka as they have their own separatist problems....

LTTE’s EP leader Ram recaptured by Hemantha Randunu

Finally our religious people are working together for the common good of Sri Lanka
http://www.sinhala.net/LocalNews/SinhalaNet_Full_News.asp?ID=5251#NewsViewBM
The winning team
We have a winning team. This team does not know anything else other than winning. This is the team who showed the rest of the world how we should deal with terrorists. They destroyed the LTTE, the so called the most powerful and well organized terrorist outfit in the world. This team would stick together to win other obstacles that the country would face, economic or otherwise. It is not upto them to select their paths. It is up to the people of this country and all the unseen conscious forces who work to protect the Sri Lankan nation to create their destiny. If I know this, naturally, they know this better. MR, GR and SF coming together to create a winning formula is a part of this. It is the winning combination and I don’t think mother Sri Lanka would ever have it otherwise.
We hear a lot about General Sarath Fonseka (SF) coming into the national politics. There are number of discussions on this. But the true fact is he is already in national politics. He has been a figure loved by his friend and the friends of our great Sri Lankan nation since the time he refused to let high security zones go during the UNF government (2002-2004). The enemies hated him and I just don’t have to waste even cyber space reminding of the comments they made to insult this great hero. Thus, naturally, he is in politics. He does not have to enter into national politics. He is very much os a political icon and a symbol of winning and never giving up.
Even though the war as we know is over and the koolie forces have been destroyed, the war against our motherland is still on. They want to ‘regain Sri Lanka’ at any cost. That’s why there is talk on Sri Lanka loosing GSP+. There are selfish elements within our political elite who would rejoice if our poor youth would loose their jobs. Then they can come to power and then carry out the imperialist agenda of dividing the country. Thus, there is a number of false propaganda spreading. There are a lot of advantageous of dividing the country…for them.
Now, these very enemies who stuck together to defeat our forces and were counting to see LTTE winning the war wants to split our winning combination; their presumed weakest link …SF. We say never. SF knows better. If he knew better to avoid inquiries from the US, if he knew better on how to overcome LTTE, if he knew better on how to handle pressure on him to give up high security zones in Jaffna, would he split from the winning team and couple with enemy?
If he does, the enemy should be careful. A lion does not get friendly with a bunch of weaklings if he does not see a bite for him and his team!
During yesterday's discussion between President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ministers and Media personnel, Disaster Relief Services Minister Rishard Badurdeen said that now there are only 140,000 IDP in the welfare villages.
THEREFORE THESE FIGURES HAVE TO BE REFLECTED IN ALL PLACES WHERE THE IDPS ARE DISCUSSED!
THE GOSL (FAILING WHICH OTHER PATRIOTIC ORGANIZATIONS) SHOULD OFFCIALLY COMMUNICATE THIS TO FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS, ESPECIALLY US, EU AND INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL MEDIA.
FORCE THEM TO USE THE CORRECT FIGURES!!!
LET NO ONE TALK ABOUT 200,000, 250,000 OR 300,000 IDPS!!!
THERE ARE ONLY 140,000 IDPS LEFT IN THE WELLFARE VILLAGES. THEY ALSO ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING RESETTLED.
Gen SF will not have a reason contest elections if,
1. Mahinda Rajapake abolish exec presidency as he himself promised in 'Mahinda chinthana'
2. Take effective action against corruption, reduce minstries and waste as per JVP allegation.
3. implement CC and 17th amendment
above things have nothing do with eelam or devolution but everything to do with country progress. devolution can come later.
rajapake will fail to do this only for selfish reasons such as appointing his relatives and theiving. lets see who the real traitor is here.
Deshal,
Deshal,
Good post but do you have equally good facts to back up your theory or just letting out your imagination on hypothetical assumptions? I wish your predictions are accurate for the sake of our nation and future of SL.
It is true that UNA is playing with fire which can burn easily either side of the election coin. However, some people get blind and careless when they pursue power greedily. Even a lion will have a tough time with determined bunch of hyenas in an unknown territory.

New Zealand is unlikely to offer refuge to 78 Sri Lankan asylum seekers plucked from a stricken boat, Immigration Minister Jonathan Coleman said today.
Australian authorities have been trying for three weeks to persuade the asylum seekers to leave customs vessel Oceanic Viking, which picked them up, and enter a detention centre on the Indonesian island of Bintan.
They have expressed concerns about being shut up in camps there for years, but there have been reports Australia is negotiating with Indonesian authorities for any asylum claims to be processed faster and resettlement fast-tracked.
Those found to be refugees could go to New Zealand, Canada, or Australia, with Tamils already deemed refugees to be resettled first.
Dr Coleman confirmed there had been informal discussions with Australia, but New Zealand did not believe "an ad hoc approach dealing with individual cases like the Oceanic Viking" would send the right message.
There was an international agreement on dealing with people smuggling and boat people which emphasised prevention, interception and deterrence, Dr Coleman said.
"We're wary of rewarding actions that seek to jump the queue for entry to New Zealand. Sending the wrong message won't help solve similar situations that may arise in the near future," he said.
"For that reason the New Zealand Government would be unlikely to offer settlement to asylum seekers aboard the Oceanic Viking."
Green MP Keith Locke said he was disappointed by Dr Coleman's statement.
"It is likely that Australia will continue to process Sri Lankan boat people, and accept some. It would be good for New Zealand, as a good neighbour, to share the load," Mr Locke said
"I don't agree with Dr Coleman that accepting Sri Lankan boat people would be rewarding those `jumping the queue'. Risking one's life on a boat on the open sea is not done lightly. It shows how desperate these people are not to be returned to Sri Lanka."
Mr Locke said taking some of these people in would show New Zealand was a caring nation as it was in 2001 when it volunteered to take some of the Afghan refugees off the Tampa.

Can you pls explain further on "implement CC and 17th amendment"?
Missy and Jay;
Re: IDPs.
I have many Qs unanswered and hope you will not do so this time.
1. Do you think Wanni IDPs will never be settled?
2. What is the reason for keeping them in camps, as per your view? Note that for GOSL sending them is cheaper than providing for them.
3. If Pussycat cadres are among them, do you think that we shud still settle them and risk terror attacks?
4. Isn't having terras mingled among them, a good enough reason to keep them, until filtering is over? [although there exist many other good reasons like clearing etc]
5. Missy is endorsing to hand over them for friend's care. But that is purely abandoning them. Current process of settling them in their own lands with basic needs fulfilled is better. If we just dump them at friend's house how will they get their lands cleared? Any thoughts on this?
6. In case we are to settle them directly in their lands immediately, w/o bomb clearance, we'll here damages quite often. What is your take on this?
7. We hear that IDPs of east are settled completely, do you think it is a fake news?
8. If a group of ppl are kept in detention forever certainly that is unfair. But if the group of ppl are genuinely being settled within a realistic time frame, what is wrong in that? You/me can request for shorter time frames, but those who really do the work can come up with something realistic.
9. Eastern IDPs settled in < 3yrs. Isn't is a good enough timeframe?
10. IDP settling is not racially biased. Sinhala Tsunami IDPs still live in camps. In fact Northern IDPs are lucky, as nobody talks about Tsunami IDPs at all.
11. If I say that, not only your claim for northern IDPs is unfair, but also your disregard of similar IDPs in Tsunami camps is totally racist [as they're mostly Sinhala] how would you reason?
I need clean straight answers with facts, not many other proverbs, calls about my IQ level, or personal attack. Also no diversions.

If my assessment is correct, Gen SF will play a limited but important role is shifting the direction SL is heading. His sole purpose would be to abolish the executive presidency. He will then assume the role as a ceremonial head of state. With the return of a parliamentary democracy, his position will become apolitical, non-partisan ideal for a respected retired general. This is not that different to taking on a diplomatic post for example.
Given abolishing exec presidency is the sole purpose of the opposition, MR can preempt this move by doing it himself. He will probably be PM albeit much less powers given he would have become answerable to parliament.
By reforming the parliament Rajapaske will make Gen SF move redundant. Gen SF would have no platform to conduct elections. The compromise will ensure Rajaspake win another term.
Panhinda;
[[If my assessment is correct]]
I find it hard to believe w/o knowing it from General himself. So far general's statements never lead me even closer to some of your assessment points.
[[Gen SF will play a limited but important role is shifting the direction SL is heading. His sole purpose would be to abolish the executive presidency]]
General never said this either. It is the formally set role of the common candidate. And that also is debated. UNP is supporting it simply because they can't win PE, and I sincerely doubt if RW will do so, if he sees any chance of winning.
[[He will then assume the role as a ceremonial head of state. With the return of a parliamentary democracy, his position will become apolitical, non-partisan ideal for a respected retired general. This is not that different to taking on a diplomatic post for example]]
This is YOUR imagination. I prefer to know how you will combine this to the statements by general. I feel that you're day dreaming.
[[Given abolishing exec presidency is the sole purpose of the opposition]]
you gotta take that back. that may be right for JVP, but for UNP, beating Mr is teh only objective. They may change stance over exe prez. For Mangi, destablishing the country and pulling MR's leg.
[[MR can preempt this move by doing it himself]]
Only JVP will welcoe it. UNP/Mangi will be finding next reason to fight against MR.
[[He will probably be PM albeit much less powers given he would have become answerable to parliament]]
Unless we come up with a fair system for selecting a properly balanced parliament we shud not do this. Pref votes gives nobody a majority and w/o exe presidency it may lead us to an anarchy. So if you're really interested in abolishing exe prez, first correct voting system.
[[By reforming the parliament Rajapaske will make Gen SF move redundant]]
Looks like another imagination. What makes General so? He never ever blamed exe prez role so far.
[[Gen SF would have no platform to conduct elections]]
So far general has spoken about corruption, national security and SLDF welfare. You can't change them by fulfilling your wishes. To me you're asking for what you want. And it has nothing to do with general.
[[The compromise will ensure Rajaspake win another term.]]
This will nevertheless be the case. We have proven many times that there is such narrow chance for RW, and absolutely no chance for SF. If you like I'd like to put out my proof. It shud be debated.

Yes, but what are the amendments? I'm yet to find them in media.
As a result if we get rid from stupid voting system, that is a huge plus.

There are lot of problems of the delegation. First, most of them fear EU sanctions will decrease their daily income from people. Second, there has to be five more Buddhist monks to represent a real delegation that represent multi religious status in Sri Lanka. It is ironic agents of Buddha had to seek help from agents of Jesus (God) for support.
If the religious folks have built up the morals of common man and our leaders, we wouldn't have ended up with a corrupt regime to receive this type of sanctions. This trip should all be about a failed mission.
vAll Patriots,
We represent all Sri Lankans, not just one ethnic group.
