KILINOCHCHI HAS NOT BEEN CAPTURED

KILINOCHCHI HAS NOT BEEN CAPTURED (AT LEAST NOT YET). PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THIS RUMOUR. MANY JOURNALISTS ARE HARASSING ARMY PERSONNEL BASED ON THIS RUMOR. THIS HAS LED TO A RACE BETWEEN JOURNALISTS TO 'BE THE FIRST'. WE WOULD LIKE TO URGE OUR READERS TO CHECK THIS BLOG FIRST BEFORE JUMPING TO ANY CONCLUSIONS.

Where are those mangy loud mouthed Tamilnadu ponnayas, when their own country is being set on fire by a bunch of boys barely out of their teens?

Do they shout only when 'tamils' in SL are affected?

It's all bark and no bite, ponsi celluloid heroes.

These guys should be called 'cowards' each time they talk against us in future. Our dogs like Mervyn shold be set on fire to call them dirty names when the need arises.

Regarding the "closed email group:"
be careful guys. I don't think we will ever have the ability to screen people sufficiently to prevent leaks to the LTTE. The LTTE has been in this business for a very long time, and some of their people are in "deep cover."

My own policy is the following: If I get a really good idea that could help the SLDF, I take the risk of making a fool of myself(not being privy to all they know about the situation on the ground), and directly let them know my idea. I don't discuss it in any public forum. General politics and military issues of lesser value that would not impact the lives of our troops, I discuss freely in public fora.

Tropical Storm,
Thanks for that info. I wonder if I have mixed up B. Raman with another, Rama Rao?
No. Here is M Rama Rao's interpretation of Indo-Lanka relations:

"Over the past sixty-years, India has been experiencing insurgency in its Northeastern region. There are more than one insurgent group in each of the six-states that comprise northeast India and the people, at least by their physical features are more close to the south-east Asians. Yet, Delhi has allowed itself to look at Jaffna from Chennai prism. Allowed itself to be led by Karunanidhis, Vaikos, Subramanian Swamis, B Ramans and Hariharans. And thereby made a mess of its Sri Lanka policy."

Rama Rao is a journalist and B Raman is ex. RAW (I believe).

According to your experience then, we have converted a former RAW official. Great!

It appears that, as the Sri lankan military and its political leaders are behaving with some dignity, foreign officials are forced to be respectful. Actions clearly speak louder than words. Time for India to come up with some action w.r.t. Sri Lanka.

I agree with Ananda-USA that tactically and strategically sensitive info should be conveyed directly to Gota.
It is probably not wise to post here until such is done and permission obtained from SLDF.
On the other hand there is nothing wrong with having a secure blog either. However, identity is a very important issue.

This requires members to personally know at least one other member and form a circle of trust.

For example I believe that I can possibly identify Rana or possibly meet with AGG. If I meet with one of them and we establish trust in each other, next we exchange each other's PGP encrytion keys created at military grade.

Each of us may then know other members personally, with whom public-keys could be exchanged. Such public keys with their signatures could even be published on the secure web-site. Security checked individuals would be invited to enter the encrypted site (i.e each individual has personally met or know someone who is a member leading back to the originator of the site in a chain of trust). There are different levels of security involved in the above described methods. VPN itself could be used if necessary using security certificates.

Ultimately the level of information discussed should still vary according to the level of security required.

An IT expert working in this area may be able to add further info. However, what we have to ask ourselves is: is it worth going to all that trouble?

Morale of the troups are also equaly important as tactics and equipment. There was a time our soldiers were allways ready to run back whenevr LTTE attacked. This was going to happen when they almost took over Jaffna. Two people saved it. Janak and Fonseka. Janaka used mMBRLs and tactics. What fonseka did was employ Military police and some troups to shoot our boys who were running back. Hence the phrase 'issarahing jhoniya pitipassen Phonia'. They coudnt run.
Now this fear pshycology has completely reversed. Vezapillai is using Fonseka tactics so that their cadres dont run. There was a story about some of them being chained to bunkers in Muhamali. The pioneers in changing psychology was the SF troups. When SF was on the offensive Terra realised it is not easy and they started running.
I had the opportunity once to be with SF just after a special op. Few of them were killed. hey maitained complete radio silence untill the mission was over. When they came +back they were- not tired a bit. When I asked one of them how was it one officer remarked ' kick eka madi sir'. What he meant was there wasnt much fun. They are adrenalin junkees. In a good way.
So anybody trying to glorify imran pandian or black tigers it is only in the past. Where are they anyway.

We can do it like this.

1. The modarator has to publish his email. (he can create a new email address only for this purpose)

2. The moderator has to identify the initial members and ask them to send email with google profile id and nickname. (If somebody does not want to expose his real identity, he can create an email address just for this group)

3. The moderator has to generate a secrat code (eg. a random number) for each member and send to them by email.

4. The moderator should publish a blogger blog (eg. dummy.blogspot.com) and then the members has to enter their code to that blog as a comment. So the moderator can verify the blogger id)

4. The moderator should create a new restricted google group and invite the members to join it.

5. To add a new member to the group, an exsisting member has to propose and all the exsisting members should agree.

(b). "The Sri Lankan Tamils need the LTTE to protect them from the Sinhalese extremists, but it should be the LTTE minus Prabakaran and others involved in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.
(c). "India should not have anything to do with the LTTE so long as it is led by Rajiv's assassins. If it removes them, the Govt. of India should give it its full backing.

Troops of the 59 Div enters Otiyamalai: LTTE beaten off with

Wow, I'm so glad. Few hours ago, I insisted the importance of 59th TF2 and TF3 getting combined and assaulting Oddusudan together. As a pre-requisite they ought to clean the blinking AOI region in defence maps. I suppose it falls into the hands of TF2 as TF3 and 59th are getting higher resistance.

Ever since its creation offensive unit TF2 or 62nd div has been quite lagging in their area. As per my memory their initial leader Ralf Nugeira is replaced by Rohana xxxxx. And still no progress can be seen. Ideally the westward move of 59th and eastward move of TF3 should be patched by TF2 around Nedunkerni.

Their are few important facts in this approach. Firstly having three units attacking Oddu at once makes it hardly defendable for them. If Oddu is challenged by only TF3 and 59th, pussycats know that they are long past do-or-die level too. And they might give up Oddu and use the AOI like a Trojan Horse to pound the sinhala villages. If lucky they can move close to Trinco.

If we seal this lid of AOI region properly I'm sure that will go as the biggest loss to tigers in the time to come [and that is why I call Kili as a museum now]. After that they will be limited to the triangle of A9 A34 A35 and lone EPS camp. SLDF can continue penetrating that region concentrating on harvesting.

Let's leave it in the good general's trustful hands.

Nevertheless, the focus will soon be on A34 like never before.

Are our forces under pressure to achieve its goals and targets which is necessarality due to the advantage of the war. Is this causing unnecessary risk to the soldiers. Can we not slow the pace to minimise our human loss and injury.

TropicalStorm said...

Keyboard warriors aside, the fall of killinochchi is irrelevant in the grand plan of things. Once completely surrounded and bled off of LTTers, the real estate can become waste land in no time. There is none to be gained from making a media splash other than short lived glory for the otherwise not so popular government. It will only bring out the TN monkey circus howling from whatever they are hiding under right now, in fear of attacks in Mumbai. Perhaps that may not be a bad idea right now; to make them howl and have the Indian Central govt cut their nuts off.
Once Paranthan is taken, and E'Pass neutralized, the game is going to be changed and for good.
What happens in teh jungles will stay in the jungles and will not be the stuff of media or sentiment.

The SLDF has frightened the hell out of the fat pig to teh extent they are in total hiding.

All that is now needed is more time for the SLDF to complete the job. Attacks in Mumbai was a God sent, in that perspective.

The total force of attackers in mumbai seems to have been around 20, from the numbers killed and captured.

Socket Gel Liners (socks) for the amputee war heroes

A friend and a batch mate of mine living in UK is running a Rehabilitation Aid project to collect Socket Gel Liners (socks) for the amputee war heroes and talking watches for the blind.

Each Gel Liner costs about £10 and so far they have provided 323. The socks need to be washed everyday due to hygiene reasons and takes 2 days to get dried, thus each disabled war hero needs at least 2 socks. The target is to collect 4000 socks.

Please visit the project site, www.ranavirufund.blogspot.com for full details. It also contains links to articles/pictures published in the defence.lk web site acknowledging the donations of phase 1 and 2.

The project has been carried on with full transparency, and after each phase a full project report will be furnished to all donors.

You can donate via PayPal using your Credit/Debit Card by clicking on the "Donate" button on the top right hand side of the above web site.

Please contribute generously, it will cost only £20 to help ease the pain of an amputee war hero who has made a great sacrifice to bring peace to our children.

Thank you

Ravana,

Indian saga is frightening to the entire civilized world. I'm sure that the ideas are copied from none other than pussycats. Other terrorists mostly try sending loads of explosives to targets. Rarely we see ammo being used this way, except for pussycats.

But I suspect that pussycats have deeper link than being mere spiritual guiders.

Note that the logistics must have been handled by the underworld. India is supposed to be VERY big, messy and corrupted. So it is a headache of ten heads for the guys in charge.

One big concern in me is the reverse of spiritual guidance. Ultra-successful approach of Deccan Mujahidin may become inspirational and educational materials for pussycats as well. Although they are breathing hardly in frontlines, we cannot rule out their ability for Mumbai type attacks.

It is a brilliant military we have, not only for the war but also city defences. If only you know the number of cases they avert by intelligence.

A day will come that world accepts the fact that best military for contemporary defense affairs is SLDF in the entire world [perhaps in par with Israel].

Long live our brave hearts and thinking brains..

Sujeewa Kokawala said...

In my view following are the next militarily important goals for SLDF.

- paranthan: the blockade between regions mula/EPS and kili/kokavil. EPS will feel a tremor with this.

- Clear up of region known as AOI: To avoid any trojan horses. This should happen ASAP before they start a project trojan horse there.

- Having a "hole-less" front from A34 to east shore [say passing thru nedunkerni]: And that will make sure that mayhem is limited to the north of that line. No more infiltrations.

- Chalai along A35: Cut off EPS from rest of the monkey land. It will be the quake for EPS. They have few options such as attack NFL in frenzy, depart EPS gradually by sea, or withdraw from EPS to Mula before this happening.

- Oddusudan: The battering ram is this. Where every opening is secured one has to go in house and look for the rat. Note that this faces the danger of counter attack, but chance of harvest too.

- East: It seems like something is happening in the part of STF in past week. First of all we need to get TMVP under control, and then the east. It is OK to have few terra in some jungles for a change. But there should not be a chance for terra groups to carry weapons in public areas, be it Jeyanthan or Ex-TMVP.

- Harvest [of Elite/hardcore]: Note that this is the only point where pussycats are winning. Averting this has been their no1 strtegy. Need to attack places with most chance. In this ground I go with Kili attack. But I'm yet to know much about its success.

- Tincans: Endless discussion. Time for SLAF to clear its good name.

If we can achieve these then after something BIG is gonna happen. And we can be reactive and play the right cards in it.

I think we should be realistic to have an overall goal of reducing pussycats to a hit-and-run group [i.e. no land control and little cadres and support]. A total elimination is way too far to be discussed.

Bhairav,

"As what Bhavat Gita says, this is our righteous war whether we fail or win does not matter as long as we Tamils should fulfill our responsibilities that next generation can live in peace and harmony regardless of what outcomes of greater Tamil Eelam or unity of one SL."

Unfortunately with your above words, you have demonstrated that it is you who's the Modaya, and a religious fanataic Modaya to drag in the Bhagavad Gita.

With your "righteous war" in progress, the only losers will be the Tamils regardless of the outcome. The Sinhalese are not giving any respect to the Tamils due to the LTTE's efforts; as this blog demonstrates, this "righteous war" has fed anti-Tamil racism with patriots here using terms like "sakkiliya" and "Ponnaya" to describe Tamils.

The more this war drags out, the more Tamil society will deteriorate into destruction, poverty, and lawlessness. One can make a great argument that the LTTE and its path of ruining Tamil society is playing right into the Sinhala supremacists' demands.

Perhaps the best thing for LTTE supporters to do would be to swallow the cyanide capsule and give that much more time for the other Tamils to begin the long task of reconstruction.

"India should not have anything to do with the LTTE so long as it is led by Rajiv's assassins. If it removes them, the Govt. of India should give it its full backing."-Raman

This was a long time back. Well before Thamil Chelvam was killed. During that time, people like Raman had plans for Thamil Chelvam as the LTTE leader and wanted to get rid of Prabha and Pottu. But we were able to get rid of Thamil, ruining that plan. At that time I thought that our military, being aware of that plan selectively eliminated Thamil. But, considering the capabilities of our Air Force I am not sure about this any more. But knowingly or unknowingly we were able to get rid of the threat. (It may have happened the other way too. Prabha may have been aware of the threat and may have gotten rid of Thamil).

But TS is talking about what he (Raman) believes now. He had long time to change his mind. Forget about the Raman. Around the same time (I think) as of the Raman article, we had a discussion about SF in Defencenet. Not many were aware of his past heroics. Not many had much faith in him. I remember I was fighting with 'Illegal.existance' on this topic (It is bad that he is not writing any more. The guy was always straight talking). Now even Raman is an admirer of SF. Not a bad conversion.

My posts at Times of India website:

Post #1:

"As a Sri Lankan who has watched helplessly the agony inflicted by LTTE terrorists on the people of Sri Lanka, my heartfelt sympathies are with the Indian people in this hour of grief. India created, armed, trained and supported the LTTE in Sri Lanka, intervened to partition our country, tried to control the LTTE when the separatist threat posed by the LTTE to India became evident, and backed out when the task proved to be too costly, leaving Sri Lanka to cope with a muderous terrorist movement. Perhaps now that terrorism ans separatism have come home to roost in India, India will join Sri Lanka in a common struggle to stamp them out where ever they raise their ugly heads on spurious pretexts. "

Post #2:

"When the bodies of 12 soldiers killed by LTTE terrorists were brought to Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1983 after 4 years of prior hit-and-run attacks against the Sinhala majority community, mobs attacked Tamils in Sri Lanka. These mobs fell into the trap set by the LTTE who used this one violent act to tar and feather the Sinhalese forever, to gain a support base, and to justify their awful terrorism that has now consumed over 100,000 Sri Lankan lives over a 35 year period. Note the modus operandi: aggressively provoke the majority community to elicit a violent response, then claim to be the innocent victim, yell discrimination and genocide, and then kill on a massive scale until the country is beaten into submission!"

Likewise, the Mumbai attackers hope to pit the Hindus against the Muslims, and drive an irreparable wedge between these two communities of India. This is the time honored formula that worked so well for the LTTE in Sri Lanka. Indians, ignore the rabble-rousers and do not fall into this trap: advise, prod and support your government in securing your country, but do not take the law into your own hands and resort to mob justice! On its part, the Govt. of India must be prepared to firmly and quickly stamp out mob violence. That is the trap! "
