Once again this government has shown they will not bow down to personal threats or any other threats to stop their agenda.

This government has the backbone, they know the Sinhala majority are behind them. Fonseka now can answer in the courts.

This is how they treat a war hero. He was good until he was with the government. This proves how the government treats anyone working against them.

This kinds of acts will backfire on the government and people of Sri Lanka.

Perhaps this is why he was arrested. It is possible someone is fearing for what SF knows.

Sri Lankan President's Challenger General Fonseka Arrested, Reports Say
02/08/10 12:32 pm (EST)

(RTTNews) - General Sarath Fonseka, who lost to president Mahinda Rajapaksa in the presidential election, was arrested at his office in Colombo on Monday night, reports quoting witnesses said.

Gen Fonseka was meeting a number of politicians who had supported his candidacy, when he was taken into custody in a "very disgraceful manner," witnesses said.

Reports say the arrest was not unexpected, as government was mulling a court martial against Fonseka on charges of plotting to overthrow the administration.

Rajapaksa defeated his main challenger and former army commander General Sarath Fonseka in the elction held last month. Fonseka rejected the outcome alleging vote-rigging and lodged several objections with the electoral commission.

Within a week of his re-election, Rajapaksa dismissed 12 senior military officers for being a "threat to national security" and hatching "political conspiracy" during the presidential elections.

Parrots of Pakisland said...

“He was dragged away in a very disgraceful manner in front of our own eyes,” Sri Lanka Muslim Congress leader Rauff Hakeem told Reuters. One of Fonseka’s security officers, I.P. Herath, confirmed the account of Fonseka’s arrest by military police.

that means he has committed war crimes.

make this his END.

at least now (4 months later) show him WHO HE IS and WHAT SL STANDS FOR.

and at least now REMOVE ALL his achievements. he does not deserve any.

how many sinhala tamil, muslim ppl were forced carried under the direct orders of gonzeka???

it's no big deal.

resisting arrest under authority is ALSO A CRIME. obviously uneducated gonzeka doesn't know this!!

Sujeewa Kokawala said...

Well, what a long twist when you look back at it from May19 on.

Now SF is behind bars. It is a moment of justice in one view, a moment of highest security importance as far as the "war crying" threat is concerned. For all fair reasons, the Rat is in cage, yet I am not celebrating.

It is a very significant decision to take him into custody. The higher sensitivity of the situ shud be handled properly, and the charges shud be proven transparently. Failing these charges shud set him free, yet that is a big big concern. It does not necessarily redeem him from his traitorous acts, however it will glorify him in support base to an unwanted high. So I hope that GOSL has substantial evidence at hand to justify this very critical act.

If not, it is a very foolish action.

Nevertheless, one good reason to keep him behind bars is his constant threatening and blackmailing to witness at war tribunals. Not all war tribunals used to bring charges against MR and punish him, some are there [kangaroo version] to redeem pussycats in the western mindset and lobby to lift strict embargoes etc. Although prior is hardly possible, latter is happening even today, so SF could have been a hen laying golden eggs to those ppl.

Considering the level of authority he had, and the kind of hatred he's fueled with, and the much he blackmailed, and the level of fake and lying he is capable of doing, ...... whoa... he shud be behind bars.

But I do not find it a moment of triumph, joy and celebrations. A part of me, even with cancer is a part of mine, and I mourn its loss.

Ranil said...

transparency? are you for real?
SF has been held without even access to a lawyer, he was not arrested with proper military protocol, as far as i heard...nobody knows where he's been kept at and under whose supervision.
his house was searched last night without a search warrant by the CID and you expect transparency????

Ranil said...

i beg to differ SK
SF was truly sidelined after the war victory and made CDS, a powerless title that only carried a title and no thing more
SF made a request to be the commander till the army celebrated it's 60th anniversary and that too was denied..
In my humble opinion it was the government that took aim at SF first
since SF too isn't the smartest tool around, instead of taking the challenge up tactfully...he lost the plot and lost the game...
this what happens to military folks when they try to get into politics, a game reserved only for certain type of people

Sujeewa Kokawala said...

Ranil;

[[SF was truly sidelined after the war victory and made CDS, a powerless title that only carried a title and no thing more

I'm unable to confirm or differ here. It looks to me that the info available for me at public domain does not provide a substantial light on matters. Was it the govt who felt jealous with SF's rise and sidelined him? Or was it SF's ego which could never be satisfied.

In military, SF had not done a fair deal all over. He seem to be jealous with many good and performing ppl, whereas he was keeping do-nothing men in high seats. He was teh worst man to apply "horses-for-courses" although he finally turned a big one of the kind.
in simple term leaving the army in SF's hand, regardless teh threat of coup, would still have been non-productive. Just like the greatest cricket captain of our nation running Cricket SL.

Had this been [my imagination] the case, well, govtis compelled to save army from the "dictator" commander.

But again I do not know for certain whether it was the case. But there are some facts leading us that way.

Note that this article was written before arrest.

It is a real tricky spot that MOD has entered.

Tomorrow begin the protests. .

It will be mostly JVP. UNP is always half hearted. And RW has handed over the Fonseka Affairs to his deputy.

SF was a genuine threat with his possible acts against SLDF and MOD. But the arrest will only complicate the issues. And I think that it will not be easy to keep him behind bars for long.

Let's wait and see.

---------------------------

Rala I disagree, that is the democratic process.

Government say the man conspired to topple the government while in uniform.

In authoritarian governments he might just dissapear.

But in SL, he was allowed to run to the highest office, and later he was arrested according to the rules in a democracy.

Military rules are a part of a democratic rule of law, all democratic nations have militaries and there are special military rules to deal with military problems.

If we was not a military man , but was treated under military rule then that is undemocratic, but he was a militray man, his crimes were committed while he was a militray man, therefore military rule is the only way to prosecute him.

I dont think we actually have civil laws to deal with this kind of a situation. Might be a good thing for the next parliament to look into.

Sarath Fonseka was involved in politics from August 2009 to November 2009, while in the position of CDS. He was also accepting large donations from known fronts of the LTTE.

Presented with overwhelming evidence, state prosecutors had no option but to seek his arrest.

Officers had to carry out the order of the higher authorities. To manhandle a suspect into police vehicle is common practice, especially when the suspect violently resists arrest. Fonseka was kicking and punching the air like a pathetic child while being dragged along.

Those who are opposed to his arrest,

1.Was Fonseka right to participate in politics while in the trusted position of CDS?

2.Was Fonseka right to accept money from known fronts of the LTTE?

3.Was Fonseka right to enlist into his security team army personnel who had not been granted leave from official service or allocated to Fonseka's security apparatus (essentially, these people were deserters)?

"The decision to arrest and court martial the former Army Chief, and the manner in which his arrest was carried out, has shocked everyone who values democracy. Even at face value, the allegations made against General Fonseka are dubious, with the government apparently confused about what exactly he was guilty of (other than vaingloriousness, political ambition, paranoia, and foot-in-the-mouth disease, which are not really prosecutable offences). In fact, the official versions have been such as to challenge credulity: while a press release posted at the Army’s website informs us that General Fonseka has been “taken into military custody on charges of alleged fraudulent acts and military offences,” a government Minister has accused him of “direct contact with opposition political parties” amounting to conspiracy (while he was Army Commander, Chief of Defence Staff, and member of the Security Council"

Chaps, retired General Fonseka's arrest was made purely on his violations of military discipline. He was arrested under the provisions of Article 57 (1) of the Sri Lanka Army Act. No soldier in the SL Army can take part or engage in politics. He was Army Commander for four years and CDS for a short period. The person who holds the Army Commander or CDS post is a member of the National Security Council (NSC) of which the President as the Commander in Chief is the Chairman. The commanders of the Navy and the Air Force are also members of the NSC and important decisions on national security are made in the NSC. While holding such an important position retired General Fonseka had held talks with political parties violating the Army Act and military discipline. The connection with the Army does not cease immediately after anyone retires from the Army. Under the Army Law a person who had committed an offense while in service could be punished during the first six months from his date of retirement. General Fonseka retired only in November 2009 and is still punishable under that law. So my dear fellows, this is a matter of military discipline and nothing for anybody to worry about. Like my Pater used to say 'Move on sonny, nothing to see here'.

Cheers!

if this is real silenknight (not a body snatched by multipolar), mate, we are not here to become popular. i know the whole SF affair devided the PPL, but as the election result says it has NOT divided patriotic sri lankans much.

the bottomline is SF's conduct is MORE unacceptable than MR.

true, MR is more EFFECTIVE than SF but that does not mean SF is the lesser devil.

it is like 1939, 1958, 1971, 1977, 1980, 1981 riots in SL. ALL these riots were started by tamil racist political parties and their hooligans.

but at the end of it all, tamils suffered MOST.

but that does not mean tamil racist political parties that started these are INNOCENT or less evil.

Moshe Dyan said...

ranil, SK,

nice example of CANCER.

but you have missed the point.

1. tamil elamists are the cancer of SL.

2. SL used radiation to kill cancer cells and NATURALLY a little bit of good cells also died.

3. now the radiation equipment has got a mind to itself and playing havoc radiating good cells!!!

4. as a result some good cells are now burnt and dead. we MUST get rid of them. otherwise the whole body will rot.

5. some good cell agents we used to fight TE cancer cellsm are now infected with the same cancer. its also like the father who treated rabies caught rabies!!! this happens. they WERE good but now they got it. we have NO OPTION but to get rid of them, else the whole body will rot.

6. if you know a little bit of SLA challenges before 1995 you may be familiar with how we cut (they call it "amputate!!!) legs of soldiers in the battlefield, without any proper equipment and anesthesia. is SO FCKING horrible. some even begged to kill them than do the "operation".

but we did it. why????

if not we would lose the whole person. its the leg or the whole thing. this is the choice SL must make now. but unlike the leg this peice of SHITT called SF is not an asset to SL anymore. its a rotten cancer cell soaked in SHITT.

Moshe Dyan said...

parrot,

not all are SINHALA BUDDHISTS.

it is not about some race or some religion. its about the future of the nation. it cannot go on with a rotten leg. it must be amputated.

IF any idiot has SINHALA BUDDHIST BULLSHIT in his head, he would be supporting the RACIST gonzeka who once declared to an international newspaper that SL belongs to the sinhalese.

but that does not mean going against gonzeka is about supporting the LTTE.

Parrots of Pakisland said...

Moshe

This is not a question of whether the leg is rotten or not.

There are more rotten legs with the MR govt and they haven't been amputated.

This is all about the hypocrisy and using excuses to prosecute people you don't like.

That is all because we have a motherfucking democracy.

Moshe Dyan said...

parrots,

BS.

gonzeka is the BIGEGST cancer SL has now.

and he is the rotten leg and the rotten egg here.

SL need not be dragged to THE HAGUE or any other war crime tribunal just bcos ppl rejected gonzeka at the election.

if sick (PTSD) post traumatic stress disorder - which a LARGE number of infantrymen suffer - he should seek medical attention.

and calling ppl KALAWEDDA, paharaya, balla, etc. during a personal election campaign is a sure sign of total lack of PERSONAL restraint. this is yet another sign of PTSD.

but claiming MADNESS should not be allowed to stand in court bcos it is SELECTIVE.

Moshe Dyan said...

anoma is a bloody whore to say she doesn't know the whereabouts of gonzeka AND seek ICRC (international committee of the red cross) not the sri lanka red cross (SLRC), help to find out his whereabouts. this bloody slut visited gonzeka at the SLN apartments twice yesterday!!!

this behavious shows SF's madness to discredit SL has spread to his wife too.

how pathetic!!

keep your defeats, egoes, frustrations, filth, etc. with you. don't put it out to discredit SL.

this further destroys their credibility.

when the gonzekas are in DEEP SHITT, they should at least keep their mouths shut!!!

Friends please read my analysis
Fonseka Arrest- Political Implications.

Moshe Dyan said...

desha,

you have not analysed the BENEFITS to the UNP if gonzeka was with them and troubles for the govt if gonzeka was free.

these are substantial.

1. although gonzeka's presence in the UNP threatens the positions of its high ranking members, it is BENEFICIAL for the UNP that was in TOTAL wilderness a few months ago.

2. gonzeka has the VIOLENCE factor more than any other UNPer.

this is VERY useful (practically) for an opposition party.

especially when in fighting reaches astronomical levels for the preference vote, 1,500 army deserters AT HIS COMMAND and DISPOSAL is a HUUUGE thing for the UNP. this can be used to unleash violence on UPFA, JVP while buddies are infighting.

generally when the preference vote infighting begings, outsiders are neglected.

3. gonzeka has INDEPENDANT connections with the west. we saw this at the last election. he can mobilise this ADDITIONAL clout well.

the opposition loses this DIRECT, ADDITIONAL clout.

4. at the GE, TNA racists are going to contest alone as ITAK racists.

they don't want gonzeka to spoil it. since TNA would not be permanant partners in govt.s its best for UPFA that TNA goes against UNP.

that leaves enough for the EPDP.

OTOH if gonzeka can get half the support he got from the north east for the UNP, that will be shitt.

e.g. at the 2001 GE, UNP got at least 6 seats from the north east.

in 2004 it lost 3 seats (half) to TNA.

in the absence of gonzeka this will happen again.

5. gonzeka has no additional baggage for the UNP. UNP joins with CWC, SLMC with HUGE burdens. 3 national list seats each MUST be given to these jokers. and they cross over to the govt anyway!!!!

in the case of gonzeka, only one seat for him. that too he would win it.

so no cost at all.

6. if gonzeka and/or his 40 arrested thieves spills the beans (they are but slowly), that can be used to SCREWW the traitors who are in politics.

this can TOTALLY ruin the UNP in some sections.

e.g. lass-antha

if gonzeka is free, he will ENSURE all witnesses are silent. he cannot direct them now.

gonzeka mafia is not getting instructions now.

The convicted person serves his or her sentence in a national prison system, whose country has agreed with the tribunal to effect execution of sentence.]

SF had to go to courts and later to the election commissioner to get security

2. the due process of the law will be followed to the LETTER.

3. law will be followed to the LETTER

:) oh yes... Sri Lanka is lawless than ever before. one man and his family is the law and they themselves are above it all

4. JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED on the deserving going by the existing SL law.

Justice????
what justice for anybody that goes against the MR gang????
what happend to that tissyanayagam fellow????
Gota went on TV accusing him of being a terrorist and throw him in jail... and he did just that!
what happened later???
he was released without a charge just before PE :) :) :)
two monks were arrested few weeks back on false charges only to be later released without a charge!
Lanka newspaper was sealed by the CID and the courts revoked that!
where's the justice?????
even if SF is truly guilty or not of the accusations wont matter.
if evidence is not there...it will be created!
this is Rajapakistan and the rajas rule the way they want
and anybody who has an issue with that can go jump in a lake like you said

I am against war crimes or any other crimes. I am agianst if our foreign thugs try to get Sri Lanka in to war path again by this or that means.

Since there were no big outcry against LTTE suicide killing and LTTE taking Tamil Civilians as human shield (yes there was a whisper of pretence) this outcry again the great hallucinator's (Remember the person who makes war crimes accusations says that he is the President of Sri Lanka) made up war crime should have another motive. This motive is to put Sri Lanka in war path again.

Now the war is over. We do not need to go to war over the war.During the war I insisted that civilian safety is paramount but the war cannot be stopped since civilians are getting killed. We just needed to take extreme care to avoid unnecessary deaths.

I am convinced that our true heros sacrificed their limbs and lives just to save civilian lives. I do not see that has been mentioned in the Western media.

So the aim is clear. It is to discredit Sri Lanka so that the True Sun God the second can take reign.

I heard that this True Son God the second was notoriously famous about a lot of killing. Then why does the West support him if this is truly about war crime. No this is about Sri Lanka and its refusal to surrender its Soveringnity to Vp.

If Civilians have been killed deliberately by soldiers that should be investigated.

If many other people surrendered are being looked after the so called surrendees who had been killed might have been attempting could have had other plans.

Any way in Ambalangoda SF claimed responsibility for this white flag thing. As usual now he tries to put other guys.

To clear the soul of Sri Lanka yes there must be a truth commission, but not now. What we now need is stability and development.

I wonder why these so called humanitarian were silent when Ture Sun God the First killed innocent babies, monks and took Civilians as human shield.

War crimes threat is not purely about taking our leaders to pa european prison. The big thing most of you fail to see is that, although it is not so easy to imprison SL's leaders, the unnecessary propa that this provides easily bails out tigers from many crimes. It builds an air of sympathy for them, feeding suspicion on SLDF and their conduct of war, and providing "evidence" to any international movement against SL, some even tigers set up. SF was laying golden eggs for eelamists in past two months.

Ananda-USA said...

Gen. Sarath Fonseka's manner of arrest was of his own choosing.

It is not for him to dictate who is to arrest him; that is within the purview of the Government law enforcement authorities, military or civil.

He should know to comply immediately without resisting, if he wanted to be treated with respect. In the US, it is normal for authorities to immediately handcuff the person arrested. They routinely take all measures necessary, including bodily carrying the person, and restraining him with force, if necesary, during an arrest. It does not matter who that person is, once a legal order to arrest has been issued .. the subject must comply.

It is also a crime to resist arrest by law enforcement officers; that charge can and is usually levied against those who resist arrest.

Gen. Fonseka is no novice in these matters. As the former Army Chief, and later the Chief of Defense Forces, he was responsible for enforcing military justice. He should have known better than to resist.

Perhaps he was deluded by his inflated ego and vanity to believe himself to be above the Laws of the Land.

It is also curious that the former head of the Armed Forces had so little knowledge of Military Law that he was unaware that the Military System of Justice had Jurisdiction over him, until six months has elapsed after leaving the Service.

That is ENTIRELY consistent with his INATTENTION to REGISTERING TO VOTE in the Presidential election. What do we have here .. an illiterate of monumental proportion?

He also formed a paramilitary group composed of Army deserters, knowing full well that harboring deserters is a crime in Sri Lanka. He should have known better .. after all he was Army Chief and the Chief of the Defence Forces. These transgressions do not begin to define the full scope of his violation of Civil and Military Laws.

This is a man who blinded by unbounded personal ambition, betrayed his brothers-in-arms, allied himself with the stooges of his former enemies (TNA), and former terrorists who inflicted violence upon the people of Sri Lanka on two occasions (JVP), and a man who was ready to partition and deliver Sri Lanka, bound hand-and-foot, to its enemies (RW, UNP).

Please do not abandon your senses to emotion and embrace this foolish, unprincipled man who is now REAPING the consequences of the seeds of unbounded ambition and hate that he himself has SOWN!

IS SRI LANKA HEADING TO A QUAGMIRE OF DISASTERS?

Poiticians had two golden opportunities to bite the bullet and set the country back on track of real peace and development.
Once after the Tsunami and secondly after the defeat of the LTTE in May 2009.

Instead what we see is bickering of one kind or another and politicised actions that have not only made SL, a laughing stock of world opinion but the general SL public are sick of the shenanigans.

There is no respect for the politicians.

Now we see demonstrations, use of tear gas etc similar to Burma, Iran.
There is no point in blaming the West coming out with laughable conspiracy theories.Sri Lankans are to blame for this sheer madness.

The world is watching the unsavoury events occuring in SL.

I believe Fonseka is to face a Military Tribunal.
This would enable the government to minimise media scrutiny, especially by the international media. It will also enable his prosecutors to substitute theories and suppositions, canards and charges in place of solid proof.

It is hard to believe that the politicised military of today will give a verdict other than the one expected by the political leadership.
Sri Lanka's military justice system is subject to review by the Supreme Court.
Again, the politicised Supreme Court is highly unlikely to go against the leadership has we have recently witnessed.

Rajapakse Inc is plundering Sri Lanka. Even Supreme Court judgments cannot rein in the Gang of Four when it come to crooked deals to line their pockets. His network of appointments based on nepotism alone would outdo any other President; couple that with his disregard for the rule of law and weakness for Mervyn Silva PBJayasundra and White Vans (for gentle extra –judicial “persuasion”) to silence his opponents.

God Bless Sri Lanka

Would anyone care to explain what these Fonseka protests are about?

The man was arrested for engaging in politics while in uniform, accepting funds from known LTTE fronts and harbouring army deserters. All three are crimes punishable by stiff prison terms. He was manhandled because he resisted arrest.

In a country where there is rule of law, anyone who engages in same activities as Fonseka would have been meted the very same treatment.

So, do these protesters want Fonseka released, without trial and without punishment, just because they support him? If so, what about law of the land? Do they want to build a culture of impunity?

War of Warlords

Question has risen on the ethics of arresting and prosecuting Ex. General Sarath Fonseka (SF). There are some who thinks we should let him go on the basis of the service he has done to the country. There are others who think he deserves the treatment he got based on treason he has committed or he is going to commit. The biggest question is, if we are prosecuting SF, what about others who have already committed wrong doings in Sri Lanka? We all know Sri Lanka is a very corrupt nation. Is this a case of prosecuting a criminal or taking a revenging on someone who has potential political power in Sri Lanka in the future?
The answer to this question varies since many different interest groups have their own opinion. Based on what is happening in Sri Lanka, this is a prosecution by choice due to the fear of SF. That fear is both political and what he knows as far as crime against humanity is concerned.
Sri Lanka has created number or warlords due to the military culture we had to develop to get rid of LTTE. This is not a battle for the national interest. This is the battle among warlords. Therefore, when one warlord tries to take down another, what should the general public do?
I'd say, we need to protect and preserve warlord culture. This is the only way we can prevent creation of a super warlord. Therefore we should all campaign for SF and ask the government to let him go. Cut a deal with SF not to testify against UN for his freedom and civil rights. At the end, we can offer him the multi million rupee SUV he deserves and did not get it with the mansion to park it.
Let the liberation of General Sarath Foneska begin.

"A warlord is a person with power who has both military and civil[1] control over a subnational area due to armed forces loyal to the warlord and not to a central authority. The term can also mean one who espouses the ideal that war is necessary, and has the means and authority to engage in war. The word has a strong connotation that the person exercises far more power than his official title or rank (if any) legitimately permits him or her. Under feudalism, in contrast, the local military leader may enjoy great autonomy and a personal army, but still derives legitimacy from formal fealty to a central authority."

FYI, the following are crimes in SL law and in many other countries too.
1. harbouring army deserters
2. ARMING army deserters
3. using them in political work
4. using the position in the military against the military/national interests
5. politicking while holding office. gonzeka did ALL these and ACCEPTED it. bugger even refered to army deserters as "my security ppl". uneducated of course!! but this has HUGE legal issues.

leave out his treason. these are enough to send him behind bars for a long time.

"General Fonseka harbored dozens of Army Deserters and Army absentees. The former Commander should have been aware that was serious offence. Knowingly he has aided and abetted in this serious offence. He also paid for these Army deserters monthly Rs.50,000/= a serious crime giving financial inducement to continue to remain as Army deserters and absentees."

ponna RW arselicked VP instead and now talking about selective application of the law.

immediately after the 2001 general election, GENERAL RATWATTE (another crook like gonzeka) was arrested for using army deserters.

immediately after the 2010 presidential election, GENERAL GONZEKA (another crook like rat-watte) was arrested for using army deserters.

some interesting development among the SUPERPOWERS!! LOVELY!!

"Russia's ambassador to NATO said Wednesday in a post on his Twitter feed that the proverbial Russian bear would "kick the ass" of the United States and its allies if cornered by a new US missile shield.

The ambassador, Dmitry Rogozin, posted the message in response to recent reports that Moscow's Cold War ally Romania had agreed to host interceptor missiles as part of a revised US missile defence system.
……………………………………………………………………………………………
US denies defense crisis with Russia

President Barack Obama's administration Tuesday denied a row over the US anti-missile shield was slowing a landmark nuclear treaty with Moscow, after days of sharp Russian criticism of NATO. Obama also pointedly contrasted Russia's "forward leaning" approach to confronting Iran's nuclear drive with China's more ambivalent stance, as Washington sought "significant" new sanctions against Iran."

Moshe Dyan said...

big boyz having a "kicking the ass" attitude to each other is better for smaller countries to MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO.

they should NOT agree on anything important.

for instance SL HR BS came up for UN-P-5 discussion last year at east 2 times. everytime there was no concensus. without their 100% approval, UN cannot force any war crimes BS investigation on SL.

fantastic.

Moshe Dyan said...

however a region power struggle between china and india is not good for SL.

they are AGGRESSIVELY seeking PARTNERS. if SL refuse to be a partner, they will try to break up SL and join with one piece. they only want a land south of india.

but if SL carefully plays its cards, it can PROSPER in this situ.

india is closer and has a bigger influence on SL. but china being a UN P-5 matches that influence idirectly.

india has test fired a long range nuclear capable missle.

that can reach almost any part of china!!

both are very aggressively expanding their navies. navies mean SL.

Moshe Dyan said...

guyz,

think about this.

is this a possibility????

1. you remember GONZEKA'S legendary rift with the navy commander????

2. he was the first gonz fought.

3. why???

4. was gonz directed by the US puppetteers to bash the SL navy following china in hambantota, TN fishermen complaining that there were chinese men among the SLN who ASSaulted them,SLAF/SLN trying many times to buy chinese 3D radars,.......

5. SUDDENLY USA gave SL a warship in 2004!!! although close to scrap, this was the first time we got such an important navel asset from the USA.

by then US knew of the chinese "necklace of pearls strategy" which was revealed by the CIA to NYT.

wow!!

6. at the same time US puppeteers directed gonz on an ARSE LICKING MISSION to china where he bought US$200 million worth military stuff from china. ridiculously HIGH. higher than the TOTAL defence capital budget of US$185 million!!!

obviously it does not make sense to SL, but to gonz's arselicking plan it made perfect sense.

bugger tried to brush aside ANY suspicion china may have had on him.

when the order was cancelled, the chinese company made NO GESTURE of disappointment. did they know????

7. gonzeka was ARSE fucked by the voters of SL. this was not given a big news status in china unlike in the pro-US camp. why???

8. gonzeka operated a RUSSIAN weapons buying and selling company from the USA!!! this is against the US law.

15 canadian tamils were arrested by FBI for supplying weapons to LTTE.

one jew and a englishman was arrested by UK last week for supplying weapons to SL. US has a similar ban selling OFFENSIVE weapons to SL.

US CERTAINLY knew gonz's company and what they were doing. it was in US trading newspapers too!!!

WHY oh WHY did the US follow a SOFT approach to gonz?????

9. gonz won a greed card in the DV lottery the first time he tried!!

mamamia!! how strange. they say its all (100%) computer generated but many have doubted it even b4.

did the US got their pawn close to them so that they can manipulate the bugger EASILY???

10. robert blake had MANY ROUNDS of "discussions" with gonz PRIVATELY in 2008.

what the hell was so private???

11. IF US gets involved in SL, mark my word, it will be a matter of a short time since russia too got involved in SL.

MR's first visit first election was to india. his first visit after reelection was to russia.

and russia has already sealed an UNNECESSARY (???) weapons deal with SL!!!!

care to share a link...not daily news, asiatribune and the likes that says SF admitted all those crimes you say he committed and admitted to...
ie: harboring and arming deserters etc etc...

and re: SF's medicine
SF's camp says he hasn't got his due medicine for over 24 hrs when the case is that the doctors have recomended he takes the medicine every 8hrs...
i watched rathu-ira program on TV recently and on that the UNP doctor fella said he takes full responsability for the claim and gosl hasn't allowed SF to have his medicine for over 24 hours from his "arrest"
So it's a case of your word against theirs

and btw...
how come gosl still hasn't charged SF properly and awaiting AG's advice on what to do with him?

Moshe Dyan said...

ranil,

links.

1. the ratwatte case is IDENTICAL as far as the deserters are concerned. you know what happened and what SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED.

2. here you get FIRST HAND info if you care to watch it till end.

3. nope. that doctor's word has no validity. even my word has no validity for that matter!!!

what matters is the PRESCRIPTION. show us the prescription.

on a lighter note, so far gonz missed more than 7 doses. nothing happened!!!

------------------------------------------

and mind you, this is ONLY the legal verdict.

the political verdict has already been delivered.

and the moral verdict was delivered by none other than SF himself over the TV with colourful words like kalawedda, paharaya, balla, " u katu kannage makka", etc.

SF is the SECOND politician to use this term "katu levakanna". he has a song. click here.

Ranil said...

2. here you get FIRST HAND info if you care to watch it till end.

i started to watch that clip and it appears to be a press conference headed by wimal..
sorry but at this juncture it's a bit difficult to buy gosl propaganda cos they have all the reason to lie and make up stories. since the start of PE elections gosl have been making story after story and feeding that to people through gosl media

3. nope. that doctor's word has no validity. even my word has no validity for that matter!!!

well it's no secret the man needs medi care after all that shrapnel damage. gosl knows this more than anybody else cos all this happened while he was with the army.
His family has requested medi care and as far as i heard...gosl has not heeded to that request.
we even gave medi care to ltte's daya master when was on...
did we asked for the presecription or a medical certificate to air lifet and get him to apollo and air lift him back????
SF might or m ight not be guilty...untill he's proven guilty he should be treated as the general who lead our army to victory...

Ranil said...

hope at least in the SF case law will take the better of him which failed in the rat-watte's case.

Moshe Dyan said...

OTOH i don't think ppl like lucky algama, janaka perera, denzil, etc. used such words for the slightest provokation.

unlike some of them SF wasn't educated. they went to WESTPOINT but i don't think SF did.

we can only imagine how he had treated army officers and soldiers under him. the saying, "jonny in front, fonny at the back", makes TRUE sense now.

GR, knowing that elam war-3 is going to be the bloodiest (per year average SLA casualties) appointed SF. through him GR pushed his ruthless plans to victory.

initially in the northern front GR gave a daily harvesting quota of 15tigers, SF achieved it. then it was raised to 35 and again SF did with task forces, new brigades, multiple fronts, etc.

the MAD and MANIC confidence SF places on himself and his soldeirs through cruel and CRAZY command which we see now was a HUGE ASSET in war. this MANIC confidence played a role in winning the war although some others could also have matched it.

but when SF planned battles, they ended up in disaster.

e.g. muhamalai.

GR lacked the army "driving" skills of SF though he was the mastermind.

a bloody good combination but a clash is inevitable.

I think it is a very stupid act by govt to arrest him.

- If arrested and put in jail, they can portray a political prisoner out of him, and use it to crate a Mandela in jail image.

- If arrested and released after court martial failing to conclude on crimes, they can portray a Mandela freed.

- If MR is compelled to grant his release, that will be turned into a defeat to dirty attempts of govt.

- If tried with court martial it can be called an opportunist and biased trial [even if it is not].

- If there is any mistake a slightest one, they can get Supreme Court support on HR basis [Most of SL's HR lawyers are working in the evil clan]

Only advantage I see is the blocking of witnessing any UN or Kangaroo-Pussycat court on War Crimes. But having him behind bars can be used as a big evidence for the pussycat propa campaign.

Having not been arrested he would compete the two big ranks of the traitor of nation with RW, and joker of nation with Wikarabahu

GR and SF are equal IMHO in terms of getting pissed off for the slightest thing, over reacting and giving their opponents a lead in the long run.
I know lots of people are thrilled over the way GR handles media, especially the foreign media but IMO, him getting pissed off and jabbering like an idiot doesn't help anybody.
I've seen a few interviews where foreign media people were interviewing Mahinda Samarasinghe and the reporters were trying there best to tick him off and make a show out of it...
But Mahinda S was a step ahead. he never looses his composure, sticks to the point and deliver a strong message... Politely, smartly but still get the job done.
Personally i prefer that kind of approach to the one Gota and even SF seems to take

SK,

Yes, the gov. has acted rashly on many things. They have the election in the bag, but still they are using excessive force to crush the opposition, this can very well backfire.

The government's objective should now be to increase the majority in the parliament, with the view of having a stable and a small cabinet to facilitate development.

The people who voted for SF won't change and vote for the govt. just because he was arrested. Seeing the suppression, the jaded Tamil people who didn't vote for SF in large numbers may very well decide that they should support the UNP instead of the Gov. This will not only not help the govt. but also help the LTTE proxies TNA to become strong again.

As for the General, I can't just brush him off as a traitor. I need to see way more evidence than the hearsay that is floating around. I base my perspective on the way SF conducted himself throughout (the strait talking nature, and getting the best out of his men) his military career.

But his major objective was defeating the MR clan, even by using the support of really unsavory characters like the TNA and some of the UNP, and that was just dangerous.

Gota is one of my favorite personalities. It is so sad that SF and Gota are now on two different sides.

the courts ARE the courts of law!!!!

this mean the LAW is upheld in SL.

otherwise NO MAGISTRATE/JUDGE could say such a thing.

of course that does not mean there are no offnces and offenders. there are. but they are under check even if they are powerful!!

now the problem SF supporters have is THE LAW, nothing else. if the law was silent SF would be free.

Moshe Dyan said...

SK and thusitha,

nope. arresting gonz is a very good move.

the 2 are linked.

SL is NOT discredited internationally for SF's arrest. SL is discredited for SCUTTLING the seperatist plan ASSIGNED to SF that is SOOOO important to puppet masters.

this is the reason. do you see the nexus????

if SF was out, he would carry out their agenda which includes,

1. gathering info on "war crimes" stories.

2. inventing war crimes BS stories

3. selling these stories to the IC

4. creating a rift within the country using army deserters, foreign interferers, etc. so that society will one day "OK" the war crimes stories.

this happened in 2001. at the end of it ppl didn;t mind the surrender agreement and lifting the ban on the LTTE.

5. creating havoc so that NO FREE AND FAIR GE could be held.

6. if you think protests, etc. are MINUTE, think again.

govt had to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.

that means it is serious.

if this continues, the country would be bronght to a standstill.

in 2001 they did the same. then the army had to shoot dead 2 idiots who attached SLA. then the crowd got bigger.

don't underestimate the power of BS.

7. of course MOST ppl are not fooled by this BS croc tears.

but you need only 0.5%, i repeat 0.5% of voters to hold the BIGGEST crippling protest in the country. and if anyone dies for whatever reason, that tends to grow bigger and more bad publicity.

8. the puppet masters of gonz LOVE even this small protests. that is given BIG publicity.

9. this FUELS more anti SL work.

simply GONZ's movement will be more effective if the bugger was out.

look at his SINGLE command - "stay clam" which means - GO RIOT.

due to gonz being locked, up he could only give this SINGLE command.

just imagine what not he would do if the bugger was out.

already the UNP and JVP are split bcos their UNIFYING FACTOR is not there to convince them to stay put.

now gonz's puppet masters are resorting to their PLAN B.

PLAN A (the REAL plan) failed with the arrest of gonz.

Moshe Dyan said...

SLDF forum is not pro-MR or anti-SF.

it is pro-SL.

unfortunately SF has alligned with anti-SL elements.

e.g. if you hug an iron post when its hit by lightning, you die too!! not that the lightning struck you, but bcos you alligned with the wrong thing.

e.g. you sleep with a HIV case and you may get it.

and someone who didn't would not get it.

it does not mean discrimination. it is association.

if it was MR who alligened with anti-SL elements, we would be screwing him INSTEAD.

if BOTH SF and MR remains pro-SL, we would be pitting one against the other and support the MOST pro-SL guy.

this is the same stupid argument brought by tamil elamists in foreign countries. they say no democracy in SL bcos they cannot support the LTTE there. they can support the LTTE in UK, US, canada, aus, etc.

how dumb??

they compare apples with pineapples.

try supporting al qaeda or jamah islamia or jihad in those countries and see what happens.

that is the comparable action.

OTOH support al qaeda, JI, hezbullah, jihad, etc. in SL and NOTHING will happen to you!!!!

...............................................

rana's comments are deleted bcos,

1. he uses multiple handles which is very confusing.

2. no coherent arguments, just bashing bloggers and ADMINS!!

trying repeated bashing of DW admins and see what happens (if it is moderated).

3. DW is not moderated any more. so anything goes here in DW.

but as you can see, no discussion CONTINUES here in DW. the all ABRUPTLY end due to totally irrelevant comments by some bloggers.

Where is the wisdom?

The action MR took to take care of SF is REACTIONARY.

This is the tribal way of governing a nation.

That kind of actions has to be visionary.

One of the thing prevent a nation like Sri Lanka to have lack of visionaries is alcohol.

Over 70% of men that I know are running on Booze.

Surameraya majjapama dhattana veramani sikkapadam samadiyami.

Ane mage kata :)

[As for the General, I can't just brush him off as a traitor. I need to see way more evidence than the hearsay that is floating around. I base my perspective on the way SF conducted himself throughout (the strait talking nature, and getting the best out of his men) his military career.]

well said Rover and good to have you back :)

Gone are the good days and sadly even defencewire team is get blasted by our "patriots" now :) :)

"this mean the LAW is upheld in SL.

otherwise NO MAGISTRATE/JUDGE could say such a thing."

true but out of so many abuses...how many get to go to courts?
police the CID are running riot closing down papers, beating up people all the while protecting government thugs...
true when it eventually go to courts, the courts take the proper stand but upto that point it's chaos and police has become nothing but a bunch of thugs of the state
whichever side you are, i dont think that's a good development for sri lankans. ESPECIALLY for those who live here and have to deal with these thug cops

"now the problem SF supporters have is THE LAW, nothing else. if the law was silent SF would be free."

not really!
IF SF is guilty of the crimes he's accused of, by all means he should be punished according to the law.
Nobody should be above the law of the land!
But, to this day almost all accusations against SF remains just that...accusations that are not proven. Even GOSL didn't know fully how to charge him when he was arrested and had to consult AG for advice...
But still he's not proven guilty so he shouldn't be treated badly.

watch and read gosl media and you can see how they are handling this :)

********* Breaking Embarrassing News *********

My team has infiltrated pakis land and recruited three parrots to work for us undercover.

Remember the post Ananda Published on his Depence Porum?

Patriots, Lanka,

I have created a post under the category Propaganda_Campaigns at the SriLankaPatriots Blog for organizing counter-demonstrations against the Tamil Diaspora effort to Boycott Sri Lanka Products.

Please go there and offer your ideas and assistance to do this.

The response for this have been overwhelming.

One of your 'patriot' working for me under cover told me you have whopping ONE response so far - during last 48 hours.

The normal folks in Pakisland think you are an idiot who overpost everyone else, over-opinion your own comrades, and people hate your ego and don't say anything in public.

Consider you have been infiltrated
They find it is more fun for working for us.

Meanwhile, Sujeewa Hukawala is pulling moderate writers from DW to DP to create his own power base and take things over from Ananda-USAshole and Sam Peretha.

Mahinda Rajapakse goes to a primary school to talk about the war. After his talk, he offers question time.

One little boy puts up his hand and MR asked, What is your name?

Amara

And what is your question, Amara?

I have 3 questions.

First, why did you start the war without the support of the UNP?

Second, What happend to the Tsunami relief funds.

Third, Do you know how Prabhakaran was killed?

Just then, the bell rings for recess.

MR informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess.

When they resume MR says, Ok where were we?

Oh, that's right. Question time. Who has a question?

A different little boy raises his hand.

MR points him out and asked him what is your name?

Amden

And what is your question Amden?

I have 5 questions.

First, why di d you start the war without the support of the UNP?

Second, What happend to the Tsunami relief funds.

Third, Do you know how Prabhakaran was killed?

Fourth, why did the recess bell go 20 minutes early?

Fifth, where is Amara ???????

Deshapaluwa's Latest Blog

That is another boring blog - at least you are consistent.

"This governmnet is not like any other, specially Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksha, when he sees a problem he faces it head on, by doing so on this matter he has averted another adversity that would have hurled upon the government and war heroes."

What you say above is arresting SF prevented investigation of top official on war crimes. So, to save few head in the country, the whole population will have to suffer due to international repressions.

-----------------------------------------------------------

This is why I like you.

As Barak Obama would say, you are a teachable guy.
Looks like you are learing a thing or two from beeing here. You certainly have learnt how to build an argumnet, still not correct, but you are doing a good job learning.

Here is why you are wrong.

What you say above is arresting SF prevented investigation of top official on war crimes. So, to save few head in the country........................

Nope, read my blog with patience. I its not only the top officials in the army, the whole country. Government by arresting SF, saved the whole county from repercussions of international investigations, remember its not only the top officials, the whole army will suffer. Already after SF's first comment on Gota, our army has ceased to get invitations from foreign governments on training etc.
If SF was to go on doing that kind of irresponsible talking, Tamil,-Sinhalese bonding will suffer, country could be threatened with many sanctions, international aids could stop, investors could stop, the repercussions are many.
Government by acting quicly even disregarding their own political advantage has saved the country from this disaster.

-----------------------------------

...............the whole population will have to suffer due to international repressions.

Nope the whole population would have suffered is SF was allowed to go on on his irresponsible rampage.

It is true that there is a certain international reaction to SF's arrest, which is disadvantageous to SL, but it would have been far more disastrous if SF was allowed to babble his lies freely.

The governmnet foresaw the problem, and acted on it. None of the previous governments would have seen it coming even if they did they would have been too timid to act on it.

Read my blog patiently.

දේශපාලුවා, you are a good teacher.

Remember parabhava sutta?

According to that, the friend who praises you often is actually a curse then the guy who speak against. The parrots can be hurting you in the long run since they agree for the sake of .....

So, be careful with fellow 'patriots'

What comes down to is:

You view arrest of SF as beneficial to SL.

- short sighted.

I view arrest of SF as harming SL.

- long term

You base your view since we have dirty laundry and you fear exposing them.

I don't fear exposing them. I'd say, let the truth comes out. Then few leaders will suffer, not all the soldiers or majority of people.

Then we fix issues that we are accused of, SL will becomes a darling nation.

That is how we benefit by letting SF speak.

See the difference. I am free spirited. You are possessive and controlling.

You are right on one thing, I may not read every thing patiently - this is twitter age.

in 2007 gonzeka out of JEALOUSY imprisoned general parakrama pannipitiya (the conqurer of the east) for no reason.

and deprived his family what was due to them.

ckeck at 4:00. wht anoma crying now??? she could have cried on the xmas day of 1975 if she wanted to cry. bloody pretenders.

Moshe Dyan said...

that's not all.

about a year ago (february 2009) gonzeka teamed up with JVP and UNP cheap media outlets to discredit parakrama pannipitiya blaming him for TREASURE HUNTING!!!!

he was actually arrested on BOGUS allegations by SF's underworld gang of army deserters this time through the co-ordination of gonzeka.

this is how gonzeka got the JVP lankatruth website to report it in feb 2009.

this is how gonzeka got the UNP LEN report it in feb 2009.

at least from feb 2009 these cheap media outlets and their JVP/UNP owners were colloaborating with gonzeka to DISCREDIT the army and its officers.

Moshe,

Based on what you say, it seems that Fonseka was collaborating with UNP/JVP elements from early days for his own benefit.

Why Bogols would you accept US/Norway rejections of your Defense Sec statements/claims?

Mind boggling!

ps. Bogols perhaps you would like to explain why Basil R visit to Geneva was lets "say" cancelled?

Gota should have a sock in his mouth.( Another Chemical Ali)
Damage limitation to the extreme!

Over to you Bogols, earn a living!
